@Widey85 I feel you on Steelrising. Fantastic combat and such a unique scenario BUT storywise it doesn't hold a candle to Greedfall. Luckily, we're in for a treat next year!
@Fiendish-Beaver I played it and it's okayyy I guess. The combat is definitely the best part, but if you're expecting a good story and good compelling characters, then prepare to be disappointed lol! For five bucks it's definitely worth checking out!
As the black sheep of the gaming community, I have to admit that I never played a single Metal Gear game. I don't even know what they're about. The same goes for Zelda games lol. Like, where does a person start?
@Deemo37 Um no lol. Remedy has worked with Microsoft before, not to mention they developed Quantum Break for Xbox. It would make far more sense for MS to acquire them.
It's also a 60-dollar game! That's actually shocking for a AAA release in this day and age lol. To be fair, they won't release a physical edition to save some money.
Out of all the things that are happening in the world right now, the CMA decides to block a GAMINGacquisition 🫣 Typical political theatrics, and trust me I should know about that. Hope they come to their senses and let this deal finally go through!!
@pepsilover2008 The game was slammed to the ground, and now it aged like fine wine. One tip, make sure to finish every sidequest, and every loyalty mission if you want to see the best ending! Hope you enjoy it! 👌
@Kaloudz The Surge 2 is basically what Jedi Survivor is to Fallen Order. They took all the feedback and made a far superior game. If you like an ACTUAL story with some emotional elements, then I think you're going to love it. Might I suggest getting the Premium Edition? It's not on sale atm, but it does go for 12 USD. Basically, this is what you'll get:
*The Kraken Discover the truth behind the VBS Krakow, mysteriously beached on the shores of Jericho City!
The BORAX-I Quantum Mace Smash your enemies into the fifth dimension with this powerful mace!
The Public Enemy Weapon Pack Hunt for 13 brand new weapons, from pillaged CREO equipment to nanite-infected staves!
Jericho’s Legacy Gear Pack Fight your way out of the city with the savage BEAST Tank Buster, the sleek Kyoko Hacker Suit, and Jericho’s official Firetails Mascot!*
@Kaloudz I know, right? 🤣 That's why I HATE FromSoft games. They are so clunky and janky. The Surge 2 on the other hand had fluid, fast-paced combat that felt amazing! You could feel every hit and the satisfaction of chopping off an enemy's limbs... Hope this game is a big improvement over the original!
@Kaloudz The first one was developed by Deck 13, the team behind the Surge games and the upcoming Atlas Fallen. I played it and tbh, it felt super clunky lol. The world does look gorgeous, but eventually, I stopped playing, mostly because of the former reason. If you're super curious, it sells for 3-4 dollars these days lol!
For me, this was the best game of 2022. It did an incredible job of closing the story chapter of the De Rune family. The ending left me in tears too... Asobo & Focus, bring on the third game!
@Cherip-the-Ripper Thanks lol! I'm surprised you even recognized the game. I always thought I was the only one on PX who is hyped for the game.
@ironcrow86 Definitely noticeable but sometimes it's worth playing through a great game, even if the framerate isn't up to standards. I hope you have fun and don't forget to play with every character. Some of them have really cool abilities!
It's bad, like REALLY bad. Reminds me of those cheap knockoff/movie license games that have two lines of code and are sold as "amazing" experiences lol. Terrible AI, it feels super stiff to just run around, it's buggy and simply doesn't feel fun after about an hour or two. If I remember correctly, this was in development BEFORE Microsoft bought Zenimax, and if rumors are to be believed, this was supposed to be canceled. Alas, we ended up with this t*rd..
My gut tells me that this will be an amazing game. Might be a tad bit broken at launch, but an awesome game nevertheless. After the whole Redfall fiasco, I'm 100% certain that Microsoft is calling for all hands on deck to get Starfield in the best shape possible.
@Markatron84 I totally agree. I just want to know, what happened?! This game WAS supposed to launch last year, and I can't help but imagine the state of it back then, and even now, after a delay, it's still unfinished and buggy. Starfield better get critical acclaim, otherwise, I might reconsider switching back to PlayStation. I know I sound overdramatic, but I don't want to be constantly disrespected. Say what you will about Sony and their anti-consumer practices, but when it comes to exclusives, they always knock it out of the park.
Reviews are ALL OVER the place for this. From a "fun time" to "the worst game of 2023". Damn it. It's like Xbox can't catch a break... I'll play and decide for myself but yeah, shame we got yet another dud. Hopefully Starfield doesn't disappoint!
I bought Far Cry 6 last weekend, and so far it's been decent. It still suffers from that classic Ubisoft syndrome of having a bloated open world, one-dimensional characters, and a generic story. Hope I get my money's worth haha! Might even play a bit of Hogwarts Legacy to hunt more achievements. Hope everyone has a lovely weekend! 😊
@Bleachedsmiles I wouldn't say it's selling "poorly". So far, they've sold more Series S consoles than a lifetime of XONE, and that's a fact. They're behind PlayStation unfortunately, but still, they're overtaking Nintendo in some markets so I think that's a good sign. As for GamePass, I don't think it's affecting sales THAT much. Personally, I buy a lot of games I try on GamePass and I'm definitely not the only one.
Guys, always take Jeff's information with a grain of salt. He's been wrong on more than one occasion. As for the game, I thought it was pretty enjoyable for a AA release. I never expected big sales numbers and if Phil is "disappointed", then he is delusional beyond measure. A GamePass shadow drop will never sell millions, point blank period.
@Kaloudz Ubisoft games are just so generic compared to other AAA releases IMO. Every time it's the same bloated open world, generic one-dimensional characters, boring/underwhelming story, etc. The only game I fairly enjoyed was Immortals: Fenyx Rising. The rest... ugh..
@Kaloudz Of course! I'm excited to play the game just as you are. But it's a darn shame we have to put up with this. Halo Infinite was rough at launch, Redfall and Starfield were delayed considerably with the former launching with a framerate cap... Hope the game is good though, otherwise, we might still be stuck in the XONE era.
@Kaloudz You're completely right, but let's look at it from a business/consumer perspective. It was supposed to launch way back in 2022, and it got a hefty delay along with Starfield (don't get me wrong, I'm all for additional polish lol). Also, it's a fast-paced shooter game and we all know how "bad" they feel at 30fps. If they don't delay it, then I hope it's the highest priority for Arkane to patch in the performance mode.
I'm probably going to sound like one of those toxic gamers, but I think they should delay the game. Don't get me wrong, I've played 30fps games all my life lol, but this simply isn't a good look for a product that was delayed for six months. And we're talking about a first-party game that literally had me switch from Playstation to Xbox! Phil needs to sort studio management ASAP.
@grumpypotato Objectifying women and fetishizing young school girls is definitely a HUUGE problem in anime-style JRPGs. Truly disgusting! Not to mention the constant grind and filler you have to go through in order to progress through the story. I'll stick with Starfield which allows proper player freedom.
This would be a perfect day one Gamepass addition. Not to be shady, but it does look a bit rough graphically. I simply don't see anyone forking over money for this...
@Kaloudz If I remember correctly, it was. It's usually on sale these days, goes for 13 USD, the Gold Edition that includes De Vespe DLC and the next gen upgrade. Hope you find some time to try both Technomancer and Greedfall!
@Kaloudz I am actually lol! My first Focus-published game was also from Spiders. Maybe you've heard of Bound By Flame? Since then, I've played most of their games and I've never regretted any purchase from them. As for my fave, I would definitely go with Greedfall (RPG category). The runner-up is definitely The Surge 2 (the same developer that is working on Atlas Fallen). Story-adventure? A Plague Tale franchise.
@Kaloudz Let's just say I finished the game three times haha. It's janky without a doubt and the combat is stiff TO SAY THE LEAST, but if you like a dark, dystopian sci-fi story with great characters and choices, I think you should definitely give it a try. Imagine a Bioware style RPG but with half the budget. If you're a fan of romancing companions, you can do that too.
@themightyant @Kaloudz
A 9 minute episode about combat, lore and the world is coming this Friday! We'll see a deeper dive into gameplay, Focus confirmed on Twitter.
Edit: For those who're asking, it's NOT a souls-like. It's an action/slash RPG style combat with different combos and powers.
Control: Ultimate Edition. The PS4 version had a such abysmal performance that I literally couldn't finish the game. On the Series S however, it's shocking how 60fps can transform a game. It's so fun to throw objects at the crazy Hiss lol!
@Bmartin001 Nobody gets left behind... not even Jacob, unless you're like me and you ignored him the entire game lmao!
Guys, I know we all expected the game in June, but let's give Bethesda the time to actually polish the thing. We all know how broken their games can be at launch, so this could be MS putting pressure on them to release a product worthy of the Xbox brand.
I completed the main story in Hogwarts Legacy, so I might start cleaning up the bandit camps and other stuff lol. My boyfriend is crazy about Apex Legends so I might jump into a couple of matches with him. Have a great weekend everyone!
I'm really puzzled by this game's development history. It took three years for it to leave early access, and in all that time, they still haven't developed a working Xbox port?! I would understand if this was an indie studio, but Larian isn't one. Personally, I couldn't care less about the game, however, I find this situation to be rather suspicious.
@KonstantTrouble What does that even mean? Oh let me guess, if a black/Asian/gay/trans character breathes, people will lose their sh*t, right? God forbid we see diverse characters in an ORIGINAL story.
Hogwarts Legacy. I finally unlocked the iconic killing curse Avada Kedavra. I'm literally killing people left and right LMFAO! If you combo it with Crucio, then it becomes so freakin powerful. Such a fantastic game and I hope it wins some awards despite being shrouded in controversy.
