Re: Reminder: Five Games Are Leaving Xbox Game Pass Today (July 31)

Descent games.

Ascent was good, played it in co-op with buddies. Got a little bit tired at the end, but still had a blast.

Two Point Campus is a lovely sim, played it for a couple of days and bought this one.

Expeditions: Rome is a nice tactic game, though a little bit rough at the edges and challenging at higher difficulties.

Marvel's Avengers was not my cup of tea - played it for a day or two and dropped. There is no lack of more interesting live-service action games on the Interned: from Destiny / Division to some lovely indies.

@Kaloudz single-player story is decent and fun in GTA 5, totally worth playing.

But multiplayer is either way a huge time-sink or a solid money-grabber IMO... Was fun on release and with a bunch of friends, but I hardly can (or even want to) invest so much time in it now.

Re: Hands On: Our Early Impressions Of The Diablo 4 Beta On Xbox

@themightyant nor battle-pass nor in-game shop are available during the beta, you won't even find any tabs for that.

I personally think that they will really keep selling only cosmetics and battle-pass. At least for a while. Different in-game items do look OK at the moment and you can find something interesting for transmogrification, but IMO late-game equipment from Diablo 3 looked much better. On the other hand, we could only see initial items for level 25 and less. Perhaps as time passes and level grows there will be more interesting option to sculp a decent-looking barb girl

@GuyinPA75 just discussing stuff, no offense, sure.

I see several cases, where pre-orders can be justified:

1) You know the game is gonna be good and you wish to play it at the release (or as soon as possible). Plus you'll get some pre-order bonuses (which are usually so-so, to be honest).

2) You want to support game developers. Not all games are made by big companies with billions in their pockets. Some studios work hard to provide the best possible games for their fans. Each player find something for himself here.

3) You don't care about the money at all. Rare case nowadays, but it exist.

But if you have doubts about the project quality, have no information about the game, don't care about playing it at the release, in that case it will be better to wait some time and see whether it won't be postponed, get some nice reviews or take part in a sale, sure.

@GuyinPA75 there are different cases, different games and different developers. I agree that preordering something in general is some kind of a cat in a box.

On the other hand I have preordered Baldur's Gate 3 at the very same moment preorders became available on PC, because I've played all Larian games before and wish to support the dev. And I will preorder Hades 2 immediately once I can. These games are something I want and I will play day one.

Re: Free Play Days: Try These Xbox Games For Free (March 2-5)

@BBB this season is good, but in my opinion it goes too easy. I leveled the first character in a blink of an eye (guess, it was something like a couple of hours) and assembled desired build in a day. Getting those boosts and benefits from the altar is not hard, the only thing I had difficulties at the moment was an Ancient Puzzle Ring - had no luck with Kanai's Cube and playing Trag'Oul Death Nova Necromancer is nice for pushing GRs but not the best farming build.

But I do agree with you that Diablo 3 is a fun game for those who want to have a break for some AAA open worlds. It is not overwhelmed with different features like POE nowadays and you can fit any amount of time into the world of Sanctuary: from 5-minutes bounty run to whole days of build optimization. If you are into that kind of things of course.
