@Millou59 indeed. Great sequel, improving almost every aspect of the original. Totally worth checking on GP for players loving deck-building games or rogue-lites.
As for me — one of the best Doom installments. Progression is nice, exploration is nice, all abilities are easy to use and challenging to master. And, of course, it plays great, sounds great and looks great.
@BaldB3lper78 depends on the final price. I might grab one on release, despite having PS5 / XsX / PC — just to run those indie games on TV or as some kind of a media station with more flexibility compared to consoles.
@themightyant if your main issue with OW1 was shallow gameplay, OW2 will suit your tastes: it has better shooting mechanics, lovely stealth, even viable melee combat. Seems even deeper in dialogues, choices, perks, etc., but I've only played for about 10-12 hours yet.
Though, it is still kinda far from GOTY (especially with all those outstanding titles of the 2025) and some moments still need improvements or more polishing.
Nice work done, even though it won't fix fundamental Avatar's problem. In the beginning it felt fresh and interesting, but after a something like 10-12 hours becomes repetitive and kinda boring. Still a nice trip to Pandora, though.
@Kezelpaso a little bit off-topic: Ben, is there any way to contact you? I have a brief question and game's marketing, perhaps you could help me with a bit of advice, being involved in this sphere.
@Fiendish-Beaver you've probably missed a dozen of hidden gems in this case. Both GP and PS+ are pretty good at finding awesome indie titles and adding them to library.
Try playing some of them in between those 100+ hours AAA titles, this approach should do the work. Many indie games from subscription might be completed in several hours, but they still provide an interesting experience, that differs from traditional modern gaming scheme.
@fatpunkslim there is no problem with installing windows on deck as far as I know. But for me there is no good point for that, too. Like I've said earlier, playing big titles on PC / XsX / Ps5 feels better in my opinion. And, to be honest, launching modern titles on deck's hardware is like squeezing the last drop from it.
Everything indeed runs smooth, but I personally can not get into big games on handhelds. AAAs just lack immersion on such tiny screens, that is why I mainly use Steam Deck for indie and some short games. Shooters / RPGs and other story-driven titles still feel much better on big screens or fast monitors imo.
@OldGamer999 I believe Voice Chat won't require any system resources while not being used.
And making Switch 2 more powerful is an absolutely understandable move. Look what the most played games on Steam Deck are — quite big titles like Spider Man, Cyberpunk, etc. It means there is a demand. Nothing wrong with Nintendo trying to bring some of those AAA titles (current and future) to their new console, increasing variety for Switch owners.
@FraserG so, they are adding Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls - Ultimate Evil Edition, which is now 10+ years old... But without the necromancer class? It is still sold separately? Kinda greedy
@Kaloudz played it on PS5. Generic, repetitive, boring. Might be interesting at first, when you try different weapons, abilities, etc., but afterwards becomes too grindy. Better spend time on something more rewarding.
@johnK such cases are not that often and it depends on how often do you use the VR overall. After buying PS VR2 I've never had any signs of sickness / headache / etc., even after playing it for hours. At the same time my wife has always had a weak and sensitive vestibular system, it was rather difficult for her to start using VR. But after a week or so she adapted and now has no signs of any problems even during long gaming sessions. It is a very fun and different experience with another level of immersion compared to flat gaming, but I can not disagree that you won't be playing VR titles only straight one after another or use it daily for a long time — VR games are way behind AAA games in may aspects and this won't change until VR goes into real masses.
@themightyant even though I agree that Witcher's combat lacks some depth, was not Fable's combat system pretty much the same in the first title at least? Dodge, parry, hit, cast some magic and shoot some arrows. Even being kinda simple, it still can deliver some fun.
Would be awesome, if Blizzard brings SC and SC2 to Xbox. With some kind of tactical pause for single player and campaign to control the situation better or / and with KBM support.
PS5 — for exclusive games, VR titles and most of the cross-platform. Series X — for those Game Pass titles and some cross-platform game which perform better compared to PS5. Switch — for exclusive games and some indies that I want to play on a go Steam Deck — for much more indies, but mostly for in-house gaming. PC — for work T_T some MOBAs / MMOs / RTS and those CPU heavy and hardcore indies like Dwarf Fortress.
@Ricky-Spanish sure, no problems with that — people are different, so are the games they play and the games they like. Mafia remake is decent overall, my point was that some people may dislike all the changes
@Ricky-Spanish for me replaying Mafia after almost 18 years since the initial release was a pleasant experience, but they've changed many things — music, cutscenes, episodes' parts, even characters and their motivation. If you are unfamiliar with the original game, you'd probably have some awesome time, but otherwise these changes might spoil the memories and overall impression.
@BacklogBrad you've played Diablo 4 at its best state — I'm glad that with each season Diablo team improves the game greatly. Hope that the first DLC won't disappoint.
@UndyingInsurgent95 funny that in fact Solas is the Dread Wolf (in all kind of DA materials) and not Dreadwolf (as the title of the new DA game).
But sure, Veilguard sounds better, considering much of the action takes place in Tevinter and how fragile the Veil between the physical Thedas and the Fade is.
@TakeItEasy overall PC gaming community is much worse than both Xbox or PlayStation — too many people with too many differences constantly bragging about rigs, components, games and everything else. After visiting some PC-gaming resources and reading an article about any game there, the only thing written in comments sections - "game is sh*t don't play it".
The best way to approach to games nowadays imo is playing what you find interesting to yourself and giving 0 attention to other opinions.
Though, I can't disagree that this gen both Sony and Microsoft are doing goddamn bad communicating with their audience.
>Unfortunately, there's no early access with these Hellblade 2 'Play Sessions'. Fans can book time slots on May 21, May 22 and May 23 - when the game will be out for all players on Xbox Game Pass anyway
Sounds like a stupid marketing idea. Even though playing the game with some stuff's comments and advices might be interesting, most of the bloggers and influencers would prefer streaming the game from their homes and discussing it with subscribers and followers.
@TJ81 Dead Island 2 is much more honest and fun game than Dying Light 2, mate.
DL2 promised so many things that completely vanished from it on release, such as deep and well-thought city development, relations with fractions and those story turns and conversations affecting so many other things. In fact they released limited game with bugs and in poor technical condition. Gladly after years of patches things changed a bit a now it is a much better game (with still the same problems though).
DI2 promised a brainless zombie slaughter fun... and delivered right the same thing. It is bright, funny and bloody game with detachable limbs, crazy characters, humor and quite-an-average story.
But overall I'd rather recommend Dead Island 2 over Dying Light 2. Especially while DI2 is available with Game Pass at the moment.
@Ricky-Spanish I did not like the first one despite trying to finish it for 3-4 times. Blunt open world, boring main quests, lack of activities.
But playing Dragon's Dogma 2 I'm getting a blast even despite all the formulas being pretty much the same. Sense of freedom and discovery without all those irritating marks on map have sold me this game. Even though in terms of game design it has some broken or irritating aspects.
Back into days when Larian released their first Divinity Original Sin I was so impressed that wanted to send them some extra money. But their community manager thanked me for the interest to the game and told, that if I'd like the game that much, I'd better buy some copies for my friends or random people over the Internet who had not enough money to enjoy the Original Sin at that moment. I even asked some more indie devs throughout the internet same question throughout the years, but all of them answered with something like "dude, you've bought the game already, that's awesome, now buy yourself a beer and enjoy the day".
But, of course, big companies with AAAAA products are those, who need "tips" the most. How about them giving more money to developers and stuff who actually make games and draw in claws with their corporate greed a bit.

Re: 40+ Games Are Available Today With Xbox Game Pass Ultimate (October 1)
@AverageJoseph quite generic in terms of open world, still pretty solid speaking of atmosphere and that one magical feeling.
Re: 40+ Games Are Available Today With Xbox Game Pass Ultimate (October 1)
@Lup same, had lots of fun with it. Even though closer to an end felt a little tired wiping out all those Merlin's riddles across the map.
Re: 40+ Games Are Available Today With Xbox Game Pass Ultimate (October 1)
@Lup it's also dirt-cheap during sales.

Great game similar to Terraria but with own vibes... and problems. Worth checking for genre fans, though (if someone has not done this already).
Re: Talking Point: Xbox & Nintendo Switch Owners, How Do You Split Your Third-Party Purchases?
PS5 — for exclusive games, VR titles and most of the cross-platform.
Series X — for those Game Pass titles and some cross-platform game which perform better compared to PS5.
Switch — for exclusive games and some indies that I want to play on a go
Steam Deck — for much more indies, but mostly for in-house gaming.
PC — for work T_T some MOBAs / MMOs / RTS and those CPU heavy and hardcore indies like Dwarf Fortress.
