This is great news to wake up to on a Wednesday! The Xbox Disc to Digital feature, which is still in testing for Xbox Insiders as things stand, has suddenly started to incorporate Ubisoft games for the first time.
Yesterday, there was a lot of chatter on social media about how the likes of Ubisoft, SEGA and Square Enix appeared to be avoiding the program, and Ubisoft actually ended up commenting to Kotaku that they should reach out to Xbox about it. A few hours later, their games suddenly started working with the Disc to Digital service.
It's obviously still early days and people need to keep testing as many games as possible, but it seems pretty much all of the Assassin's Creed series, various Far Cry titles, Watch Dogs and many other Ubisoft games are working with it.
As for other companies like SEGA and Square Enix, Windows Central says it remains to be seen if they'll join, but they've heard that "other publishers are just going over the detailing before committing, which is standard practice for any big corporation". Fingers crossed for more additions very soon!
