Xbox 25th Anniversary Controller Release Date, Price & Other Details Seemingly Revealed

It was back in June that Xbox announced we'd be getting both a controller and a console based around the 25th anniversary of the brand, and some details have leaked out today about the "XBOX Wireless Controller X25 Special Edition" specifically.

According to the outlet Dealabs, which is usually always right on the money with stuff like this, the Xbox X25 Controller will release on October 20th but have a pre-order date of August 26th, which is the same day as the first Xbox broadcast at Gamescom 2026. In other words, that's when we expect it to be announced.

And just in case you're wondering, the folks at Dealabs don't know what the dates are for the console yet.

As for the price of this controller, it's apparently going to retail at £74.99 / €79.99 / $79.99, and given that this is a limited edition design, you might want to be quick off the draw in order to confirm your pre-order on August 26th.

It should be kept in mind, however, that the Xbox Series X25 console will apparently come bundled with the controller as well, at least according to what Microsoft said back in June.

We'll leave you with more details about the controller below.

We’re also introducing the XBOX Wireless Controller X25 Special Edition in translucent OG Green, showcasing 25 years of play inside. From the original ABXY colors, to the timeless green, every detail calls back to the beginning, including the bumpers honoring the original black and white buttons on the original “Duke” controller. The back case and battery door are fully transparent, revealing the classic XBOX logo.
