Control Resonant Delays Physical Version, But Has Officially Gone Gold 1

Remedy has announced its highly anticipated sequel, Control Resonant, has officially gone gold ahead of its September 24th release on Xbox Series X|S. However, it's not all good news, as in the same breath the studio revealed the physical release has been delayed by three weeks.

Digital versions of the paranormal romp will still be playable at launch, but if you were planning to pop the disc into your Xbox, you're going to have to wait until October 15th.

It's not the worst news, all things considered, as Remedy has reassured that a physical disc-based version is still on its way because "nothing stays contained forever".

Control Resonant is the second entry in the series, this time putting players in the shoes of the original protagonist's supernatural brother, Dylan Faden. It's a change of pace for Remedy, with the sequel positioned more towards its action-adventure gameplay this time around.

Physical media is in a transitional phase at the moment, with Sony announcing its departure from discs in January 2028, and no official word from Xbox on whether its next console will follow suit.
