I watched the trailer for Merge and Blade and it looks like a tetris RPG. I'll mess around with it. And Soul Hackers is something I would like to check out but not necessarily play all the way through, so a good couple of games for me
I have been doing fine without a memory expansion, but now I'm starting to think about it. I'm interested in 2 of these and not sure I can even squeeze Atomic Hearts last update onto my drive
I picked up Marvel's Midnight Sun on sale and started it, just doing the tutorial. From that brief play I see what the hype was about and cannot wait to play more!
Cool, most of these are surprises I know nothing about, may check them out later. I'm trying to finish a couple of things ahead of Atomic Heart, which I already downloaded, so these will go into the pile of saved for later
Very much looking forward to this. Although I did have to remove some other games from my S to accommodate that file size. I have no memory expansions, I have to delete things I am not actively playing
That was a pretty good month for me last year, I had interest in most of those. I bounced off Guardians and Weird West, but may come back to them and purchase if they stick this time. Kentucky RZ was interesting. I'm almost through Genesis Noir. It isn't really my favorite but I have stayed interested enough, and it seems short enough, to stay through the end
I earn 8 to 10,000 points per month, which gets me 10 usd to spend in the store. So I'm not earning the max as others are, but really like the program and consider it a major perk in the MS ecosystem
I bet MS are so confident in this deal they already have HR drafting hundreds of termination notices for AB staff and a huge golden parachute for Bobby. I mean, I hate for that to be true, and I hope it's not, but I fully expect it from a merger like this. I like this deal as a GP subscriber, but I hate it as a human.
@Tharsman I think of Deathloop as AAA, although maybe not as exciting a release as many had played on PS. I wouldn't want to sell it short. I agree it was not a bad year for me as a gamepass subscriber without a ton of free time for gaming. I had a lot of fun with what I played.
I do like these types of graphics. I see similar on the Nintendolife site and always enjoy them
@GuyinPA75 Personally, I get big games on sale, and very rarely pay full price. But I am willing to wait and play my backlog in the meanwhile. Gamepass allows my cheap self to play a subset of new games (granted, small for the past year or so) without the extra investment. The S is a dream come true for me, lowest cost next Gen console and a library of games for a reasonable monthly fee. And the rewards program further helps with cost, either subsidizing GP or new game purchase
I had Telling Lies on my list because of Immortality, but I cannot play everything, just not enough time. I've played Donut County and own on another system.
I recently started The Ascent. I'm starting to worry, I think it is coming up on a year and I am slow at completions...
I'm looking forward to Inkul... and Atomic Heart. Realistically, I don't have time to play more, but I would love to see a few more indies added. I'm holding out hope that Rogue Legacy 2 (or even 1) or that Lamb game whose name eludes me (lamb of god?) could come to GP someday. There are bunch like that, old and new, I'd love to check out
These types of articles are interesting to an extent, but I don't know the subscription model payout structure for devs and pubs, how GP payments differ from Apple Arcade or the PS or google versions, etc., and it is still pretty new. I guess we'll all see how it pans out. I've been on gamepass just over a year. I bought a Series S just to get gamepass and use it like am arcade, and that's pretty much what I have done. Mainly playing "indies," based mostly on what is available in genres I like, and also I tend to seek shorter games. It also let's me play big, longer games and bounce off without buyer's remorse. But if all these planned huge games come out this year, all that may change and I may ignore the indies for the bigger games. Like I say, it is pretty new and always changing, so tough to say. Based on January, I will be playing the Inkulati (sorry for spelling) game and ignoring the AAA offerings. That won't be the case in Feb. I don't know if Inkylati is truly indie either. Defining indie is like defining craft beer, it's a really big tent.
I really liked Hellblade but I did not finish that game wanting a sequel. I thought it was a perfect stand alone. To be honest I have not watched the trailer, as I don't like to watch trailers for things years away. Maybe that would get me more excited about it. So, I went with Starfield
I really liked Nobody Saves the World. I did not save it twice for that final achievement but to be fair, the new game plus mode shuffles the dungeon restrictions so it is not the exact same experience the second time through. I got its dlc and still have not completed it. I should do that, but I won't feel bad if I don't, the game was great fun and good value
I bought Cursed to Golf with rewards points. I have more points to spend, so will but at least one more before the end of the year. I mostly use game pass, and xbox has been my most played console. I think I bought 2 on PS, Inscryption and Tiny Tina's. Live a Live on Switch, as well as Rogue Book and I am sure a few other indies I am forgetting
I am considering Disco Elysium, The Ascent and Kaze and the Wild Masks. Not sure if I will do one or all. I have some rewards points to spend. I just started The Ascent on game pass and was thinking to grab at discount in case it leaves in the near future
I'm early on and enjoy it so far. Maybe just me, but I don't like the exploration. The game mostly holds your hand but I got stuck where I needed to bounce a shot off a surface to lower a bridge and no idea that was what I was supposed to do. Whereas in other places it will not give me a moment of peace until I move to the next very clear objective. But all told, I'm having fun, I like most of the humor, and will keep playing
What is an unverifiable rumor? An idea so tentative there is no way to confirm it? By confirming it, it is fundamentally changed? I guess once a rumor is confirmed, it becomes a fact... Or, is this just pure conjecture? Don't get me wrong, I love reading these articles (no sarcasm, it's why I read these sites), but this wording just struck me as particularly odd hedging.
I recently picked up the dlc for Nobody Saves the World. I should prioritize playing through that extra content. I really liked many of the Jan games, enjoyed my time with them quite a bit. I do like these PSA articles, please keep them up!
Vampire Survivors for me. I was very excited for Monkey Island and Pentiment, and curious about Gun Grave. But VS is just perfect for short play sessions, especially when I am tired and want some mindless fun, and I keep going back instead of hitting those games I was so psyched to see on the gamepass list
I played through Firewatch and checked out Aliens (a bit). Nothing else here was on my short list, although I am sure there was some good stuff. For me, more excited about High on Life and Eastward than disappointed about what is leaving
I liked what I played of Sable, but never got around to going back, always too many other cool games to check out. Good Life and Echo Generation were in my list to check out, but with a bunch of games from last month and upcoming (plus backlog on other platforms), I won't miss them too much. I have finally, mostly, made my peace with the idea that I cannot play every game that sounds interesting. And who knows, maybe some of these will be back someday? I think it happened with Yakuza titles, so there is a precedent?
I'm planning to finish the last couple of main mission levels in Floppy Knights on game pass, maybe chip away at Yakuza Like a Dragon (is that now just Like a Dragon?), and play a little Inscryption on PS
I am concerned about the acquisition in terms of Sony long term health. This isn't competition, it's not like MS came up with games to rival God of War or last of us. They are buying a key product for the system. It's more like they are rival pizza places and MS just bought the pepperoni supplier. Yeah, you can sell pizzas without pepperoni, but it's always been a big seller for them, and the place down the street already covers a bunch of niche flavors. I hope it all turns out ok. In the short term, I have gamepass and I like crash Bandicoot and Diablo, so win for me. But I don't want to see any of the big 3 fail, I think the competition is good. If Sony fails and MS has no competition (I don't think of N as direct competition, but I suppose they really are), then prices could go up and quality down. So I don't hate Sony for being worried, or MS for wanting the deal. But I worry.
Also, re exclusives, it is a weird time. You have Sony with some timed exclusives but also starting to put first party stuff on PC, and MLB went to game pass 2 years in a row on day 1. Right? Exclusive landscape is hard for me to understand right now.

Oh, Microsoft, we can talk about whatever you want. I'm just so glad you're ready to talk again. It's been lonely.
