I really liked Hellblade but I did not finish that game wanting a sequel. I thought it was a perfect stand alone. To be honest I have not watched the trailer, as I don't like to watch trailers for things years away. Maybe that would get me more excited about it. So, I went with Starfield
I really liked Nobody Saves the World. I did not save it twice for that final achievement but to be fair, the new game plus mode shuffles the dungeon restrictions so it is not the exact same experience the second time through. I got its dlc and still have not completed it. I should do that, but I won't feel bad if I don't, the game was great fun and good value
I bought Cursed to Golf with rewards points. I have more points to spend, so will but at least one more before the end of the year. I mostly use game pass, and xbox has been my most played console. I think I bought 2 on PS, Inscryption and Tiny Tina's. Live a Live on Switch, as well as Rogue Book and I am sure a few other indies I am forgetting
I am considering Disco Elysium, The Ascent and Kaze and the Wild Masks. Not sure if I will do one or all. I have some rewards points to spend. I just started The Ascent on game pass and was thinking to grab at discount in case it leaves in the near future
I'm early on and enjoy it so far. Maybe just me, but I don't like the exploration. The game mostly holds your hand but I got stuck where I needed to bounce a shot off a surface to lower a bridge and no idea that was what I was supposed to do. Whereas in other places it will not give me a moment of peace until I move to the next very clear objective. But all told, I'm having fun, I like most of the humor, and will keep playing
What is an unverifiable rumor? An idea so tentative there is no way to confirm it? By confirming it, it is fundamentally changed? I guess once a rumor is confirmed, it becomes a fact... Or, is this just pure conjecture? Don't get me wrong, I love reading these articles (no sarcasm, it's why I read these sites), but this wording just struck me as particularly odd hedging.
I recently picked up the dlc for Nobody Saves the World. I should prioritize playing through that extra content. I really liked many of the Jan games, enjoyed my time with them quite a bit. I do like these PSA articles, please keep them up!
Vampire Survivors for me. I was very excited for Monkey Island and Pentiment, and curious about Gun Grave. But VS is just perfect for short play sessions, especially when I am tired and want some mindless fun, and I keep going back instead of hitting those games I was so psyched to see on the gamepass list
I played through Firewatch and checked out Aliens (a bit). Nothing else here was on my short list, although I am sure there was some good stuff. For me, more excited about High on Life and Eastward than disappointed about what is leaving
I liked what I played of Sable, but never got around to going back, always too many other cool games to check out. Good Life and Echo Generation were in my list to check out, but with a bunch of games from last month and upcoming (plus backlog on other platforms), I won't miss them too much. I have finally, mostly, made my peace with the idea that I cannot play every game that sounds interesting. And who knows, maybe some of these will be back someday? I think it happened with Yakuza titles, so there is a precedent?
I'm planning to finish the last couple of main mission levels in Floppy Knights on game pass, maybe chip away at Yakuza Like a Dragon (is that now just Like a Dragon?), and play a little Inscryption on PS
I am concerned about the acquisition in terms of Sony long term health. This isn't competition, it's not like MS came up with games to rival God of War or last of us. They are buying a key product for the system. It's more like they are rival pizza places and MS just bought the pepperoni supplier. Yeah, you can sell pizzas without pepperoni, but it's always been a big seller for them, and the place down the street already covers a bunch of niche flavors. I hope it all turns out ok. In the short term, I have gamepass and I like crash Bandicoot and Diablo, so win for me. But I don't want to see any of the big 3 fail, I think the competition is good. If Sony fails and MS has no competition (I don't think of N as direct competition, but I suppose they really are), then prices could go up and quality down. So I don't hate Sony for being worried, or MS for wanting the deal. But I worry.
Also, re exclusives, it is a weird time. You have Sony with some timed exclusives but also starting to put first party stuff on PC, and MLB went to game pass 2 years in a row on day 1. Right? Exclusive landscape is hard for me to understand right now.

Re: Talking Point: What Would You Like To See From Xbox's 'Developer_Direct' Livestream?
Oh, Microsoft, we can talk about whatever you want. I'm just so glad you're ready to talk again. It's been lonely.

Re: Nine Games Are Leaving Xbox Game Pass Today (December 31)
I just grabbed scarlet nexus in the countdown sale.
Outer Wilds is a featured game for a new Rewards quest. Weird

Mostly High on Life for this weekend. May check out Vampire Survivors dlc, too, and keep chugging along with Monkey Island
