The first 2 times I played, I had the game freeze up during combat and I had to reload a save. But no problem the next time I played. So I save as often as possible and hope for the best. It is very fun so far, although I am bad at the stealth / set up, the early missions are forgiving. I love the varied character specializations and the overall theme and art style

Nothing new to say, but I'll day it anyway 😀 I thought turnip boy was fun, played the base game but didn't try the Rogue- like last game element. I tried Trek for an hour or so, didn't feel strongly enough to go back. I thought maybe it felt bland combat wise because I was playing on easy. I don't have a PC and the other 2 didn't seem like my type of game. High hopes for the 2023 replacements, especially Lamplighters!

@awp69 I have Lamplighter preloaded from gamepass and I noticed it downloaded an update last night. Might be unrelated but hopefully it is a patch addressing the issues you have heard about. Is it already out for purchase, or reportedly buggy in review copies?

I do agree that corporate culture and quality of life should improve post merger. I hope it does!

I don't think this acquisition is good for gamers, per se. Microsoft could write a deal to get these games on gamepass. They could pay for exclusives. Sony already does these deals. Those things are good for MS fans and gamepass users. I don't see how MS owning the company is inherently a good thing for competition or gamers. Unless the argument is it helps them make more money and stay in business as competition to Sony and Nintendo etc.? All I see is a huge company poised to make more money and lay off a bunch more people who suddenly become redundant. All that said, I don't see the FTC putting forth a great case against, and I won't complain about getting more Diablo and future Crash games for no extra cost. I dunno. Complex things are complicated I guess

This makes sense. We have recently seen studios closed or having layoffs after disappointing launches. If these delays can generate a better launch, then it is well worth it. I am sure it must be tough for the teams and the delays will have their own financial implications. I hope it works out for the devs, the pubs, and those of us looking forward to these games

I'm definitely in the camp of interested in Gotham Knights but not enough to actually buy. this is perfect, I can download, give it a few hours and no buyers remorse if I bounce after that.
I have been very much looking forward to Lamplighters, already preloaded it. Looks similar to xcom with an interesting theme.

Also vaguely looking forward to Cocoon, as I like novel puzzle mechanics

For me, these are bigger additions than Starfield or Lies of P - I know I am very much in the minority on this : )

I recently purchased a ps5 and had been getting some use out of my ps plus sub downloading Ratchet and Clank, Returnal, etc., but not sure I will renew. I subbed for a year last black friday, so will have some deciding to do. It comes out to about an extra 3 dollars per month, I think, at my tier. Not a ton, but I game more on xbox. Or did, before getting the 5, now it is pretty well split

Casette Beasts on xbox gamepass. Never really played pokemon games, but enjoying this. Trying to finish the latest Ratchet and Clank on PS. I have always liked the series and this one did not disappoint!

I was not aware of this game, but sounds pretty different and fun

I have Gris on Switch but have not started it. Maybe I'll do it on gamepass, so I get the Rewards (50 for daily achievements) as I progress

I'm trying not to buy and contribute to my backlog, but those indie hits are tempting. Especially Cult of the Lamb and Rogue Legacy 2. I just picked up Strange Horticulture a few days ago, so, trying to exercise some discipline and not buy more...

Has anyone played this? If I only have time for 1 non-stationary management sim, do you recommend this or Wandering Village? I was playing a bit of Arcade Paradise, but now I wish the arcade/laundry was on a boat or something. Oh, but maybe then it would be too close to Spirit Farer

It is weird that they have a "deal" which is essentially a trap for people new to the store and the idea that these games are regularly discounted far below the cost of this...opportunity. seems like you might get a minor sales bump but lose the trust of your customer base long term. But, what do I know?

I played this back in the day on PS3, I think, and liked it at the time. Not as interested in this style of puzzle platformer these days. I bounced off Lana quickly and have not started Bramble, hearing it was similar.

As an aside, there is a shout out to this game in Guacamelee 2 which I found funny 😁

I need to check out Hardspace Shipbreaker. I've got it downloaded and been wanting to try, but keep playing others ahead of it

Indie is kind of like the label craft beer. Seems like a definition should be simple, but it's just so complex

@Kaloudz It is interesting the examples you give, as I would not consider CD Project Red an indie studio. Goes to show that there is no standard definition of indie.

That said, these are some good games although I have most already on other platforms. Limbo was great, A Short Hike was very pleasant. I have but still have never played Celeste. Maybe now is the time....

For a long time, I got Airborn Kingdom and Wandering Village confused. I still may. I'm not complaining about them both coming to gamepass within a few weeks of each other. I'm just saying, I'm going to get them confused even more

@Kezelpaso I do like short narrative games. But even those tend to take me a while somehow, lol. I played Adios over 2 sessions, for example. But, maybe this coming weekend I could devote some time, and check out the Indian restaurant which just opened near me. I know Indian cooking is a big umbrella, but if the recipes in the game and the menu offerings somehow match, it would be a great coincidence! I'm still looking for blue teas after playing coffee talk ep 2 : )

Immortality and Tinykin were both great! I don't replay games in general, but hope others have a chance to play, if they are indeed leaving soon

I've read good reviews for strange horticulture on switch. I will throw that on my wish list

None of the sales seem to stand out. Generally the same games at the same prices. I saw a few newer games at deeper discounts than previous, but my assumption is that will just be the new normal discount in upcoming sales. No inventive to buy now. Gamepass keeps me from adding to the purchased backlog to an extent

I'm not usually one for soulslike games (I lack required talent), but I will check this out on gamepass. The great thing is I can mess with this, play a tiny bit of starfield, go back to the little indies I usually play, and not have buyer's remorse....like I do with Diablo IV

Blue Fire had been on my radar, I think this for me is "going out with a bang," within reason.

I enjoyed the game, but I don't think I'll go back into it for dlc.

I knew it was a huge gamepass but forgot it was exclusive. I hope it does ok on other platforms for the studio

@S-Bacc you make a good point about sequels on game pass. Figment would fit the xbox one, inexpensive game pattern and 2 just hit gamepass

I'll have to check out Humanity, I missed it. I have ps4, not 5, so most of my gaming is on my series S. I check on PS when I see releases I was looking forward to, like Rogue Legacy 2 and Sackboy

I recommend Dreamscaper as a fun roguelite. It scratched the Hades itch more than others I have tried, and I liked the story elements and characters. It's not Hades but I enjoyed it quite a bit.

Ascent was fun, but I agree re small text, occasional bugs and difficulty spikes. I ended up switching to easy difficulty to get through the last battle to complete story mode. I think it moved over to PS service if anyone missed it and has that.

The others leaving were not for me. Looking forward to the new additions taking their places!

@Sifi I generally agree, especially with all the Bethesda games going onto PS plus, but credit where it is due, Rogue Legacy 2, Tchia and Inscryption have been great adds not on gamepass. I still prefer gamepass offerings, especially since I already had Inscryption and Tchia did not really hit for me, but ps has improved. I hope Rogue Legacy 2 comes to gamepass!

@Moonglow I was thinking they might hold off putting Diablo 4 on GP until sales or season pass sales start to dip. I imagine putting it on GP but having season pass separate would drive those numbers. I bought it already, so I'll be kicking myself a bit if it's on gamepass in the near term : )

I played it an enjoyed it back in the day. I believe I got the good ending for all characters, but never finished getting all of the bad endings. I don't plan to replay on gamepass but I am glad others will get a chance.

I started previous GWG offering Adios this morning over coffee, and plan to complete it over coffee tomorrow morning. It is chill and thoughtful, at least so far, nice over morning coffee. I may play some Diablo 4 this weekend or check out FIST or Bramble

These games are somewhat interesting to me, but I doubt I will download them.
On the console war front, I also have PS plus and probably will not download those either.
It is just the nature of the monthly free games being a mystery box. You will never make everyone happy every month. I have not been to push square yet but they usually have a poll and thread where over half the responses are not satisfied with the monthly games included with the sub : )

Getting both Little Kitty, Big City and Stray on gamepass would be a win for cat enthusiasts.

It's still a good value proposition for me. Any higher and I might think about dipping in and out. And I very much enjoy the content

I did not realize this was ever ps exclusive. I thought it had been out on switch for a while, and steam, and assumed it was on xbox as well. Either way, it looks fun and had pretty good reviews. I'm keen to try it

I'm most excited about the Book game that was recently announced, but Bramble, FIST and Arcade Paradise have all been of interest or actually wishlisted in the past. Great set of Gamepass adds for me. I need to hurry up with Ghostwire and Diablo (and Hoa, and Adios, and ....)

My list of 10 most anticipated games would look quite different except for Starfield and Hades 2. I am very excited about the many gamepass titles announced! The great thing is that even though most of these top 10 steam wish list games were not particularly on my list, I still get to check them out at no risk!

I liked that a lot, in terms of art, vouce acting and tone of the writing. Will be interested to see what sort of gameplay it will have.

We now have Coffee Talk Ep 2, as well. Not sure about the specifics of achievements and time versus the first game, but it is not long, has achievements, and I found it enjoyable

I'm interested in Diablo, but backlog is keeping me from picking it up. I might yet succumb to peer pressure, as a couple of friends have it and are talking about running it co op

@BobCoffee I have played a few hours of Chicory on Switch. It was fun. The mechanics and puzzles/challenges felt fresh and imaginative to me. The story was more interesting than I expected - at least as far as I had gotten. My son saved over my progress by mistake and I never restarted. I may give it another start on gamepass as xbox has become my primary gaming

When I read the headline all I could think was Xbox Studios, Skull Island

@Skedaddle I played on PS and enjoyed it (assume it was the same on xbox/GP). Fun mechanics and interesting story telling. Not amazing, but I liked it. I played the standard game but I heard they had a huge update or dlc later that made it even better.

I have never thought to myself, "I need a new game. I'm really in the mood to play something where the characters have visible legs..." But who knows, maybe now that it is there I will use it. seems really created to pointedly exclude Rayman : (
