This Delisted Xbox 360 Classic Is Returning Via Game Pass Next Week

It's been gone for five years!

Double Fine recently teased that more of its games would be coming to Xbox Game Pass, and one of them arrives next week in the form of The Cave, which has actually been delisted on the Xbox Store for the past five years!

This game was developed by Double Fine and published by SEGA back in 2013 as an Xbox Live Arcade title. It debuted to fairly mixed reviews but went on to become a cult classic and a "Very Positive" title on the Steam store.

Here's a little bit of what you can expect from The Cave on Xbox Game Pass:

"Assemble your team of three from seven unlikely adventurers, each with their own unique personalities and stories, then descend into the mysterious depths to explore locations including a subterranean amusement park and a medieval castle, not to mention a fully armed and ready-to-launch nuclear-tipped ICBM. The Cave awaits."

As mentioned, The Cave was delisted on the Xbox Store back in 2018, and it's still delisted as we speak. However, as of Tuesday, July 18th, it'll finally be available again as part of Xbox Game Pass for console and Xbox Cloud Gaming.

The Cave was a pretty good game, but calling it a "classic" is a bit of a stretch. I'll give you cult classic, sure, but I remember thinking it was fun and not much else.

Apparently Double Fine co-published this game, just like Stacking with THQ, so this could be a permanent addition.

I played it an enjoyed it back in the day. I believe I got the good ending for all characters, but never finished getting all of the bad endings. I don't plan to replay on gamepass but I am glad others will get a chance.

The Cave was definitely a video game, that was released and some of us have played it, some have not. And no one can dispute that!

Loved the game personally, but I love these kinds of games period. I can’t wait to see what DF is up to next. That’s what I wanna know. One of my favorite studios.

@shoeses This 100%. I'm very hesitant of going into a video game future where we are only able to play games through a subscription service and then its gone like Google Stadia. Even though that's where we're heading...

This is great news! I actually played – and loved – The Cave on Wii U, but as I don’t have that console anymore, I’ve not been able to replay it… until now. Well, erm, next week. The day after I turn 50, too. Thanks Double Fine!
