Since Perfect Dark and Fable are already on the way, that's two I don't have to worry about.
Would love to see a new entry for Crimson Skies, Mechassault, Brutal Legend, Spyro the Dragon, Brute Force, Conker, Viva Pinata, Kameo, or Psychonauts, Black & White, & Vigilante 8. I would also love to see Dead or Alive Xtreme 4 come back stateside and on Xbox consoles again.
My biggest wishlist item, however, would be a revival of StarCraft: Ghost (along with console ports of SC 1 & 2.)
@Brigurugi I loved the game, but I don't know if I would consider Metal Arms to be even a Pseudo-Mascot for Xbox. It was pretty evenly spread across platforms by most metrics.
You've got some much more identifiable Xbox-exclusive platformers / family-friendly licenses that work in its stead, though. Blinx, Kameo, Gunstringer, Viva Pinata, Psychonauts, Ori, Lucky's Tale, Cuphead, Voodoo Vince...
If they're not going to do a new Spyro entry, I would at least like to see them tackle something like Blinx or Kameo. Hell, I'd even be down for a Viva Pinata game, whether it be another garden simulator or a story-driven game set in the VP universe. Both could be interesting.
Haven't tried Split Fiction yet, but so far the only 2025 release I've enjoyed is Avowed. As for best game I've played this year, still Morrowind and Powerwash Simulator.
Seems like Nightdive is pretty much exclusively FPS, so going from that perspective, I'd love to see:
Original Xbox: Area 51 Tron 2.0 Breakdown Return to Castle Wolfenstein Turok: Evolution Soldier of Fortune II Rainbow Six 3 (and Black Arrow) Phantom Crash
Xbox 360: Chronicles of Riddick Singularity Deus Ex: Human Revolution Mirror's Edge Prey Sanctum 2 Syndicate Turok
Wish I could say I'm playing Oblivion this weekend, but that rumour didn't pan out and as much as I wanna play it, I don't want to boot up the original with the remake hopefully coming soon.
That said, I have nothing to play at the moment. I finished Avowed and nothing else worthwhile has come out yet this year. Just been dabbling in Powerwash Simulator and American Truck Simulator while I wait for something interesting to launch.
My only disappointment is they haven't given Xbox players the Serious Sam voiceover DLC for Talos Principle. I loved it on PC and would love to go through the entire game with it on Xbox (along with getting a similar DLC on TP2.)
@Blastfemur Honestly I'm fine with them releasing the exact same game as long as they can give us a better draw distance. The 360 version had awful draw distance that become apparent when you stood on the cliffs looking over the region. I would love to see a full populated world.
Mod support would be nice to even though I imagine switching to UE5 is going to pretty much void every mod that currently exists for the game...
As a gamer I really hate April Fools Day... So many good things that they actually should make and they end up being jokes. The sad thing is they know they're good or they wouldn't be joking about them. They just aren't willing to commit.
I can't help but start salivating at the idea of a Brutal Legend remaster with some new content.
Never really played it in the first place. FH3 was great and saw a few dozen hours of play. FH4 was okay and got maybe 15-20 hours out of me, but always got turned off and ignored during the winter season. FH5 I booted up, finished the tutorial race, completed maybe 2 events past that, and I uninstalled the game forever. Just lost my interest in the series, never really liked Racing games much anyway, and I just didn't enjoy the map like I did FH3. Even FH4 was more interesting even despite my general disinterest in the British countryside.
I'm honestly glad Playground moved on to Fable because I just don't have any interest in this series going forward.
I sure hope this isn't the "Xbox Handheld" the rumours have been touting recently. I'm torn between a rock and a hard place right now wanting to buy a Steam Deck or something similar, but if Xbox offers a device that can play my PC and Xbox libraries all-in-one, I would rather wait for that. I just need to know it's actually going to happen and I'm not waiting for nothing.
@Sol4ris I'm the opposite. Avowed is the only title I've enjoyed on GamePass in the past year (besides a couple I already owned like Spyro) and right now I'm just sort of twiddling my thumbs waiting for DOOM, Tony Hawk, Ninja Gaiden, and Outer Worlds 2. The fact that I can even list 5 games I'm anticipating in a single year is a huge deal considering I've been lucky to find even 2 a year for the past 10 years, but the sparseness between GamePass releases does make it difficult to justify keeping the service active throughout the year.
I honestly keep forgetting OW2 is slated for this year. I don't know how the hell Obsidian is doing it, but they've been killing it since their acquisition into Xbox Studios. Wish the other studios would show the same level of activity. Can't help but wonder what a few of these studios are even doing. Really with we could get some news from Double Fine and Toys For Bob in particular.
Honestly forgot this game even existed. It dropped on other platforms and fell out of public perception within a week. Doesn't really doing line something we sounds be holding our breath for. Time to move on to something more interesting. After all, DOOM launches soon.
The only thing I care about rescuing from Ubisoft would be the Tom Clancy license. Rainbow, Ghost Recon, Splinter Cell, EndWar, and HAWX all deserve to be rescued from that dumpster fire and I believe studios within Microsoft could be a good for for them
The only other series of theirs that I care about is Beyond Good & Evil, but unless Rare or Double Fine took the reigns on it (which I don't either of them would want to) it wouldn't be a good fit for MS to own.
The rest of Ubisoft's IP can be left to sink with the ship.
Definitely psyched to play these again! Wasn't a fan of the 2D entry, but the two 3D entries were gloriously janky nightmares and I loved them growing up. Can't wait to revisit them and remove all of the zany dialog and movie references.
Within Microsoft's power, give me Skywind and Skyblivion official releases on console, port StarCraft 1 & 2 to console, and I want new entries for Mechassault, Crimson Skies, Kameo, & Viva Pinata.
Do all that along with the Fable and Perfect Dark reboots and I'd be pretty happy with this console generation.
Would also love to see Jade Empire get a sequel as well as Xbox launches for Until Dawn, Shenmue 3, Detroit: Become Human, and KOTOR Remake, but I know that's not really in MSFT's court.
That's alright. I uninstalled Halo Infinite nearly two years ago. No more single player content and with such a barebones and empty campaign, there's no reason to go back and replay it like I did all of the other entries in the series. Even Halo 5 and Reach, awful as they were, at least get a revisit from time to time.

Re: Xbox Is Missing Out On FromSoftware's 'The Duskbloods' In 2026
Oh no! We're going to miss out on what I can only assume will be yet another FROM Souls-like?! Whatever will I do?!
Anyway, really looking forward to DOOM and THPS3 coming out soon. Also hoping this Oblivion remaster rumor has some validity.
