Stupid question, but this is only for the digital version, I guess?
Preordered the “Premium Edition” from amazon, at the end of July. It is looks like the disc-based Standard Edition, but with a download code for the Premium content stuff.
Release date for Premium edition content says Sept 1st, and the rest is being released (and delivered, I imagine) a week later.
I suppose this means that I technically won’t have “Early Access”?
I can’t say that I really notice the haptic feedback on the PS5. On Astrobot, yes, but that was basically a giant “tech demo” for the PS5, so of course they went all in. The only other time I noticed haptic feedback and trigger resistance was on Hogwarts Legacy, and Spiderman. It just doesn’t seem to get used often enough to make a difference. Also, when it first happened, you think “Cool”, but then you get used to it, so it loses it’s impact. Honestly, it’s a nice gimmick, but that’s all. Maybe if software developers actually made full use of it, properly, then it might make a difference. But who knows?
As for the new version, “DualSense Edge”, forget it. They are £200 each. Never paying that much for a controller. Sure, I got the Elite controller, for the Xbox One, but that wasn’t as expensive.
I don’t think I would ever buy a console without a disc drive. But perhaps I am in the minority. That goes for both the PS5 and Series X. If either Microsoft or Sony stopped making consoles with disc drives, that would be the day that I stopped buying them.
So, they expect us to pay full price for an old game, that can be found very cheaply these days. This is not a remaster, nor is it a remake. It is simply a re-release. What is the point? As we all know, the original 360 version runs perfectly well on the Series X.
So the obvious question is “Why bother?” And the obvious answer “Greed”.
But this also means that the supposed remake or remaster, or rebuild, or whatever - is never going to happen.
If it means another Hogwarts game, with the same quality - and the same attention to detail - then I’m definitely interested. There is no need for a Hogwarts Legacy sequel, though. That story was wrapped up nicely. So a new story, please, in the same sort of era. I know, I’m not asking for much, am I?
Ha ha. Just suddenly realised I’m showing my age now a bit. My first experience of computer gaming was actually playing the original “Elite” on my best friend’s BBC Microcomputer. Correction - watching him playing it. Must have been about 1987?
Preordered my copy online over a week ago. Premium edition for about £120. But that price might come down, before release. Really looking forward to this. Getting huge “Elite” vibes from it. I can remember the amount of time I sank into “Frontier” on the Amiga.
The first xbox I had was the 360 arcade version. The basic one. Added the expandable hard drive to it. The reason I bought was to play Saints Row. I was a huge fan of SR2, and wanted to play the original, but it never had a PlayStation version. I have had every xbox since. Now I have a Series X, and a PS5 - because there are great games available for both consoles. The first time I played Mass Effect was on the 360, as well. And the Mass Effect trilogy are my favourite games ever.
Well, yeah. I bought three spare lamps for my projector. they cost about 75 pounds each. With is kinda expensive - for a light bulb. That should last throughout my entire lifetime, I guess. Had the projector for about five years, haven’t needed to worry about changing the lamp, yet. Not as if it gets used every night. This is why I only use it for movies, and not for gaming. Still not very keen on the idea of actually changing the lamp, when I need to, but there has to be instructions somewhere, right?
You need a surround sound amplifier. Connect your speakers - and connect the hdmi out on your amplifier to the projector, the same way you would with the tv. For instance, I use the Onkyo Txrz760 receiver, and a 5.1.2 surround setup. In theory, I could use 7.1.2, or 5.1.4, but I don’t actually have the room, at the minute. One day, maybe, if I move house.
I know this sounds like I am bragging, but I already have a 4K HDR projector. The Optoma UHD51ALVe. Cost about £1300. Money well spent. Watching movies on a 120inch projector screen is about as close as I will ever get to a true home cinema. In fact, the room it is in is probably not quite big enough. Never used it for games though, as this would eat into the lamp life too much.
I love the Egyptian setting. It is just so different and unique. I have never experienced anything else quite like it. “Origins” inspired me to read a lot of history books, and I am impressed by how accurate their version of Egypt actually is.
If I had been able to choose more than one title, I would add the original Watch Dogs game. Despite it being unrelentingly grim and miserable.
I am sorry to say this, but this man is clearly an idiot.
So many things in this (admittedly ghost-written) book have proven to be completely untrue. For somebody who has admitted “wanting a quiet life, to be left alone” he is doing a really good job so far.
I imagine most bookshops will place this volume in the fiction section, as it clearly not a biography.
Consider that I just loved SR2 so much that I simply HAD to play the first Saints Row. Essentially Saints Row is the only reason I own an XBox. Had to buy a 360 to play it on, see?
All reviews of this new one say that it is simply lousy. And I am being generous.
It takes a lot for me to say this: But I will give it a miss.
The “First Amendment” to the US Constitution states that “Congress shall make no law prohibiting freedom of expression or of religion…” etc.
However, YouTube and facebook are technically private companies, although they do have the backing of the “Intelligence Community”.
Facebook began as a CIA program called “Lifelog” - which was closed down on the very same day that Facebook went live.
As long as YouTube and Facebook apply their “terms of service” EQUALLY then in theory they break no laws.
However, they do not appear to do so. Some posts that are clearly Racist, or threatening, or violent seemed to be allowed to stand.
So, YouTube and Facebook clearly have political (left wing) bias. Essentially you are seemingly allowed to say blatantly violent racist things on Facebook, provided that those are not directed at the WRONG PEOPLE.
However, their are alternatives to both Facebook and YouTube.
I bought myself one of these, when they first became available.
They are much cheaper now, though. Perhaps I should have waited? I think that everybody should buy one of these Expansion Cards eventually. Unless they release a newer Series X, with a bigger internal hard drive?
The 1TB expansion card has 920GB of usable space, so it more than doubles the storage capacity of the Series X, as the internal HDD is only 802GB.
The real benefit is that you can actually store and launch “Series X Enhanced” games from it.
Copying files onto the Expansion card is also very, very fast.
Most of my Xbox One games are stored on the external (usb) hard drive. This is a Seagate 5TB drive (with 4.5TB of usable space). The contents of this drive are 52 games, and it is 36% full.
The only drawback is that copying files to-and-from the USB hard drive is painfully slow.
But it basically doubles the hard drive size. I got the Storage Expansion Card in order to basically “future-proof” the Series X. I imagine newer games will all need lots more room.
Sure, I have a nice external HDD. You can store series x games on the external drive, but they will not actually play. I also find that copying files from the external drive takes far, far longer than it used to with the OneX.
Or is that just me?
Besides, the 5TB external usb drive is already half full - 360 games, Xbox One games …..for the past fifteen years.
And, then there is the PS5, which doesn’t even have a 1TB internal hard drive. Something like 850GB

Re: Starfield's Early Access Release Times Have Already Been Revealed
@Darylb88
Nice one.
Thanks, I would not have thought of that.
A few weeks to go yet, so lets see what happens.
Edit, checked it all out, and joined Game Pass Ultimate, because it seems like a really good deal.
Thanks again.

Re: Bethesda Hosting Pre-Launch Developer Q&A On Starfield Next Week
@Destoroyah2021
Thank you.
I have cleared a lot of room on the 1TB Expansion Card,
There is at least 500GB of free space on that, so I should be fine. Thanks.
And, there is really nothing else coming out after this that I am really interested in, so I will be fine.
Looking forward to my pre-ordered Premium Edition, arriving in three weeks time.
Re: Bethesda Hosting Pre-Launch Developer Q&A On Starfield Next Week
I just want some idea of how much space I should clear on my hard drive. I think it’s going to be a lot.

The only thing you would find on most “game discs” these days are licenses, proving that you own the game.
The great majority of the game data will be installed from a download, and subsequent updates.

Re: Pick One: Which Of These Is Your Favourite Saints Row Game?
Ryu, you said that Keith David was in SR4, but he was also in the first two.
He is the voice of Julius Little, the founder of the Third Street Saints.
I seem to remember that at some point in Saints Row 2, the Boss (you) actually kills Julius.
For me, Mass Effect was always strange to begin with - seeing Admiral Anderson, yet hearing Julius Little.
Re: Pick One: Which Of These Is Your Favourite Saints Row Game?
Saints Row 2 is easily my favourite, and I still enjoy it even now.
I never bothered with GTA until number 5 came along.
To be fair, the OG Saints Row (1) was my only reason for buying a 360.
Re: The Next Saints Row Is Officially Heading To Xbox In February 2022
Saints Row is the very reason I even own an xbox. Having loved Saints Row 2, I bought a 360 in order to play Saints Row 1.
And sadly, I have to agree. I don’t know what this is, but it is not Saints Row.
If I do play this, I imagine the only thought going through my mind shall be “I miss Gat”.
At the minute this game looks lazy enough to even make me miss Pierce.
