I really don’t understand the complaints about the censorship when it’s so minor most people won’t even notice it. I wouldn’t even call it censorship, it’s just changes to the dialogue.
@OldGamer999 I get that, but I’ve been through all this before. I remember the Wii U and early PS3 era where the confidence in Sony and Nintendo was at an all time low. Both companies bounced back and Microsoft can too, they just need a plan to get them back on track. Plus at the end of the day we don’t know the future of any given ecosystem. I get not wanting to support something that looks like it’s going downhill, especially in this economy, but at the end of the day al we should focus on are the games. Is there a game you want to play just play it on whatever you want.
@OldGamer999 for what it’s worth I don’t regret my purchase of a Series S. I have more than enough games to play on that thing, at the end of the day the frustrations you have with a company should come second to how much you enjoy their product. Nintendo frustrates the hell out of me too, doesn’t mean I don’t love the Switch.
I got into Xbox this generation after becoming disenfranchised with Sony, and it really does feel like there’s no real plan. Maybe there’s some behind the scenes stuff going on that’s preventing that from happening, like infighting or the like, but the management needs to get their act together. I don’t like Sony’s plan but at least it’s a plan.
@GamingFan4Lyf my guess is that this collection isn’t just a set of emulated ROMs, but full on native ports. Similar to what Capcom did with the more recent Mega Man Legacy Collections. Which I believe also ran on MT Franework.
@anoyonmus again though that doesn’t make sense. Even if the sales for those games are lower on Xbox they still get more sales just for it being on the platform. Plus it isn’t like this would be difficult to port, so again there must be some other reason it’s not being put on here. Maybe they’re planning a Gamepass release down the road?
@anoyonmus see that doesn’t make any sense. Why pay for a niche visual novel and not a collection of some of the most beloved fighting games of all time that also happens to be based on a globally recognised IP. Something else has to be keeping this from being on Xbox.
@Savage_Joe the strangest thing is that it’s getting the Investigations collection but not this. I can’t imagine why it wouldn’t, even if it doesn’t sell as many copies on Xbox that’s still extra sales it’s getting, and it’s not like porting it on there would be difficult. Something must be going on behind the scenes with this.
Here’s the thing, it’s also not coming to PlayStation 5. Only PS4 is getting it. So maybe only last gen consoles are getting it, and then it comes to current gen consoles later.
@DennisReynolds you use the words “kill” and “murdered” to describe the closure. Those are very emotionally charged words to describe this. I’ve it, these kinds of closures are awful for the industry, but sadly they’re also inevitable. Not every studio can last as long as others, the gaming industry is filled with the names of companies that only lasted a few years.
And honestly Tango closing didn’t really surprise me. Prior to being bought by Bethesda they were struggling financially, and they weren’t a company held in that high regard prior to Hi-fi Rush. I remember the genuine surprise when that game came out because no one expected Tango to make a game that good. But now you’ve got revisionists trying to claim they were always this dependable beloved studio.
Really was hoping for some gameplay or anything that shows what the game will be like. Apparently there’s assists so that should be fun. Just hope the loot system is gone. Excited for this but I need to see more.
@nomither6 I know. That’s why I’m thinking of going for it. Especially since everything is coming to PC, including console exclusives. At some point, owning a console is just utterly pointless.
@GuyinPA75 I can see the logic in that, but at the same time it’s not like this is a new phenomenon. Developers have had to take weaker hardware into account when developing games for years. So I don’t see why it’s become a problem now.
@GuyinPA75 It really doesn’t though. It’s not like they’re developing for two completely different console architectures. All they’re doing is optimising for a slightly weaker system. PC developers have to account for different builds all the time, why can’t they do the same for the Xbox consoles.
If you have nothing to play on Xbox maybe you need to broaden your horizons and try something new. Because I have loads of games on my Xbox I haven’t gotten around to yet so I’m set for a good long while.
I hate to say it but the layoffs were necessary. Corporate bloat leads to mismanagement and mismanagement leads to a lull in productivity. Want to know why Xbox exclusives have slowed to a crawl, there’s your answer. Downsizing like this isn’t great for the people who get fired, and I sincerely hope they get back on their feet, but it’s also an inevitability you need to account for when working in any industry.
So they MIGHT be suing them. They aren’t actually doing it. Alright this is the US government we’re talking about, I expect a lot of bluster but no action, and if they do do anything they’ll likely cock it up.
@Moto5 to be perfectly honest I don’t see this next generation to be a significant setup up in the first place. I mean compared to previous generations which were significant steps forward in graphical capabilities, this one seems more incremental. I mean what did we really get, fancier reflections and faster loading.
And at the end of the day the Series S was designed and marketed as a cheaper value model. If the original model Xbox One and PS4 models could exist alongside the One X and Pro models without compromising development for those I see no reason why the Series S can’t exist alongside the Series X.
@Moto5 see that’s where I disagree. I’m of the belief that limitations can breed creativity since you have to think of ways around those limitations. A lot of technical achievements were accomplished because of this.
@Moto5 but again they have to keep this in mind for PC development, especially with the Steam Deck now being released. This isn’t a new thing either, game developers have had to struggle with different system requirements for years now. Why is it only an issue now.
@Moto5 but again that seems like it comes down to optimisation. I’ve seen pc ports that ran terribly despite working perfectly well on consoles, and PC is still significantly more powerful than consoles.

@OldGamer999 I’m probably just going to go into PC gaming. I bought the series S largely as a stepping stone to get to PC eventually.

@JayJ pretty much. They’re biggest complaint was the Quick Time Events used in combat despite them being similar to what was used in the Mario RPG’s.
