Re: Reaction: Microsoft's Constant Tweaking Of Xbox Game Pass Is Becoming Exhausting

Jireland92

@OldGamer999 I get that, but I’ve been through all this before. I remember the Wii U and early PS3 era where the confidence in Sony and Nintendo was at an all time low. Both companies bounced back and Microsoft can too, they just need a plan to get them back on track. Plus at the end of the day we don’t know the future of any given ecosystem. I get not wanting to support something that looks like it’s going downhill, especially in this economy, but at the end of the day al we should focus on are the games. Is there a game you want to play just play it on whatever you want.

Re: Xbox Set To Miss Out On Marvel Vs. Capcom Fighting Collection

@anoyonmus again though that doesn’t make sense. Even if the sales for those games are lower on Xbox they still get more sales just for it being on the platform. Plus it isn’t like this would be difficult to port, so again there must be some other reason it’s not being put on here. Maybe they’re planning a Gamepass release down the road?

@Savage_Joe the strangest thing is that it’s getting the Investigations collection but not this. I can’t imagine why it wouldn’t, even if it doesn’t sell as many copies on Xbox that’s still extra sales it’s getting, and it’s not like porting it on there would be difficult. Something must be going on behind the scenes with this.

Re: Phil Spencer On Recent Studio Closures: It's About Running A 'Sustainable Business'

Jireland92

@DennisReynolds you use the words “kill” and “murdered” to describe the closure. Those are very emotionally charged words to describe this. I’ve it, these kinds of closures are awful for the industry, but sadly they’re also inevitable. Not every studio can last as long as others, the gaming industry is filled with the names of companies that only lasted a few years.

And honestly Tango closing didn’t really surprise me. Prior to being bought by Bethesda they were struggling financially, and they weren’t a company held in that high regard prior to Hi-fi Rush. I remember the genuine surprise when that game came out because no one expected Tango to make a game that good. But now you’ve got revisionists trying to claim they were always this dependable beloved studio.

Re: Phil Spencer Responds To Xbox Layoffs, Calls It A 'Difficult Moment In Time' For Microsoft

Jireland92

I hate to say it but the layoffs were necessary. Corporate bloat leads to mismanagement and mismanagement leads to a lull in productivity. Want to know why Xbox exclusives have slowed to a crawl, there’s your answer. Downsizing like this isn’t great for the people who get fired, and I sincerely hope they get back on their feet, but it’s also an inevitability you need to account for when working in any industry.

Re: Many Studios Are Struggling With Xbox Series S Requirements, Claims Developer

Jireland92

@Moto5 to be perfectly honest I don’t see this next generation to be a significant setup up in the first place. I mean compared to previous generations which were significant steps forward in graphical capabilities, this one seems more incremental. I mean what did we really get, fancier reflections and faster loading.

And at the end of the day the Series S was designed and marketed as a cheaper value model. If the original model Xbox One and PS4 models could exist alongside the One X and Pro models without compromising development for those I see no reason why the Series S can’t exist alongside the Series X.
