Report: Xbox Boss Phil Spencer Reassures Employees Following UK ActiBlizz Decision

Xbox boss Phil Spencer has been speaking to employees this week about the UK's decision to block Microsoft's purchase of Activision Blizzard, reportedly seeking to reassure them about the future of the company's gaming division.

According to a report from Bloomberg, Spencer acknowledged the disappointment of everyone at Microsoft about the verdict, but confirmed that the company's desire to pursue the ActiBlizz takeover hadn't wavered.

He also mentioned that even without Activision Blizzard, Xbox's gaming strategy would move ahead.

It should be mentioned that this is just a report based on someone who was apparently in attendance at the meeting, so there aren't any direct quotes here. Nevertheless, Spencer has come out with similar public statements in the past, mentioning back in February that the future of Xbox wasn't reliant on the Activision Blizzard deal.

Ultimately, Phil and the team at Microsoft are still doing everything they can to get this ActiBlizz takeover to go ahead, but if that doesn't end up being the case, it sounds like the Xbox brand still has a very healthy future ahead of it.
