Re: 'Like A Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name' Arrives In 2023

@UltimateOtaku91 The only games that have English dub options are Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Judgment, and Lost Judgment. The rest of the games released so far are only Japanese with subs. Future games will most likely have English dubs as well, but it’s not confirmed.

There are multiple difficulty options when you start a Yakuza game, like Normal and Hard. I played through every game on Hard difficulty, and never ran into too much trouble across the games except for a few parts. But you can play on Normal and enjoy the game perfectly fine.

If you just run through the main story, you could probably beat each game in around 20 to 30 hours. But the side content in these games are so gripping, that you may indulge in them anyway, even though they are completely optional. There are a bunch of side quests in each game, and there are a lot of mini-games as well. If you just run through the main story, you’ll have a great time with that alone. However, the side content contains a lot of the heart of the game as well, and you may find yourself enjoying it as much as the main story. With the side content included, playtime could be drastically increased to 50-80 hours for each game. For reference, I took my time with Yakuza 0 and finished it at 87 hours. However, Yakuza Kiwami only took me 31 hours. So these games are really what you make of them.

@UltimateOtaku91 Start with Yakuza 0, and play the games in chronological order. I started with 0 in January 2021, and played every localized game by March 2022. Here are the games I played in order:

  • Yakuza 0
  • Yakuza Kiwami
  • Yakuza Kiwami 2
  • Yakuza 3
  • Yakuza 4
  • Yakuza 5
  • Yakuza 6
  • Judgment
  • Lost Judgment
  • Yakuza: Like a Dragon
  • Yakuza: Dead Souls

@BAMozzy You’re not alone, I have also never played GTA V before. However, I am interested in buying the next gen version of the story mode. I think it would be epic to play the game for the first time on the Series X version. I don’t want to play GTA Online though, it doesn’t really seem like my thing.

Re: Pick One: Which Is Your Favourite Xbox Yakuza Game?

Handy_Man

I played all of them plus the two Judgment games throughout last year, with the exception of Like a Dragon, which I’m playing right now. My favorite one is Yakuza 5. I love how much content is in the game; the mini-games are among the best in the franchise, playing as different characters was fun, and I loved the multiple cities featured throughout the game. Yakuza 0 was paced better and had a better story, and both Judgment games were excellent, but I spent the most amount of time with Yakuza 5. The Yakuza games are fantastic, and should be tried out by everyone.

Re: Another Five Games Will Leave Xbox Game Pass Soon (December 31)

Sad to see Yakuza 0, Kiwami, and Kiwami 2 leave Game Pass. I started Yakuza 0 back in January this year, and thanks to Game Pass, I played through all of the mainline Yakuza games throughout this year. I liked the games so much that I eventually straight up bought them all after I beat 6. Fantastic games, I can’t recommend them enough. If anyone hasn’t got around to trying them yet, please give Yakuza 0 a shot before it leaves. At least 3 through 7 will still be on Game Pass, but the games being removed are the best ones to play when starting the series.

As an aside, The Little Acre is a very easy 1000 gamerscore game. I recommend following this video as you play it if you want some achievements before it leaves Game Pass.

Re: Reaction: As The PS3 Store Closes, Xbox Reminds Us How 'Critical' Game Preservation Is

Handy_Man

As a lifelong Nintendo fan, I’m still sad that the Switch never got a Virtual Console service. I bought so many Virtual Console titles on the Wii, and it stings that I can’t even redownload games I purchased in the past. Plus the fact that the Switch got so many full priced Wii U ports, rather than just letting us redownload Wii U games we already bought on the Switch.

Game preservation is very important to me. My last Xbox was the 360, and when I purchased the Series X, I was over the moon to see I could download the same games I purchased on the 360 years ago for free. Nintendo and Sony could learn a lot from Microsoft’s approach to backwards compatibility. Godspeed to Microsoft.

Re: Microsoft Directs The Blame To Activision For Tony Hawk Xbox Series X Issues

I appreciate how Microsoft reiterates that Smart Delivery is available to all developers. Activision using Smart Delivery would have saved them a lot of hassle and bad PR, but they decided to be greedy instead. Hopefully this is a lesson for most developers, there’s no reason not to use Smart Delivery on your Xbox One game if you have the means to.

Re: Is It Worth Buying An Xbox One In 2021?

The last Xbox I owned was the 360, and I was lucky enough to get a Series X at launch. With how much the Series X improves over the Xbox One from what I heard, it makes me happy that I decided to skip the Xbox One.
