Re: Xbox Announces Next-Gen Console Strategy, Promises 'Deeper Visuals' & Backwards Compatibility

GADG3Tx87

I don't get why so many people get a hard on hoping for Steam on the console. 90% of the library on Steam already exists on console anyway. The only reason the ROG does it already and people speculate is the fact the ROG was already designed to access Steam and the Xbox app is just piggybacking on something that already existed.

As for Sony games being playable on dedicated Xbox hardware, I'd stake money on it that they'd block access to them. Which they can easily do. Again, it can be done on the ROG but technically that's not an Xbox device, they've just added their app for Play Anywhere and a button.

Re: Why Are People Talking About GameCube Games On Xbox Series X?

GADG3Tx87

Considering Nintendo are finally launching cloud emulation for GameCube games on the Switch 2 that means they officially become active licences again. Let's hope they don't catch wind of people illegally emulating their games on a console or they'll be some lawsuits on the way. Difference is, the licences were expired until they become officially playable again.

You know Nintendo are like a dog with a bone, look at palworld and ROM distributors they've taken to court many times. And GameCube games aren't 'officially' accessible on Xbox or any other console. It'll be Microsoft who gets sued for not preventing it, then likely bans for users doing it.

This literally happened this morning.

They don't let go until they get their own way.

Re: Here Are All The Changes & Enhancements Coming To Gears Of War: Reloaded On Xbox

GADG3Tx87

@OldGamer999 @Kaloudz
The PS5 'Pro' may be the 'best' place to play Xbox games in theory but let's be honest, the 'Pro' is a very niche product that interests enthusiasts more than anything. As someone who got a PS5 on launch day I see zero reason to get a 'Pro' since the differences aren't enough to warrant the price and some games have reportedly ran worse on it than the regular PS5 due to poor optimization of patches for 'Pro Enhancements'.

Personally when anyone asks I advise against buying the Pro, go for the regular and save that extra money for a couple of games. And I doubt I'm alone in thinking that. If the price for the Pro went up, considering it's sales aren't a mass market appeal that thing would probably sell worse than Xbox consoles have been. If not already.

Re: Reaction: Gears Of War: Reloaded Makes Perfect Sense For Microsoft, But Not For Xbox Fans

GADG3Tx87

I'm still getting over the shock. Primarily I play on PS5 but it feels so weird. I played all the Gears games on Xbox, I will be buying it when it launches on PS5, but, when I boot that game and take the first steps out of the cell with Marcus Fenix I think it will feel unnatural for lack of a better word at first. It's one of the few moments I hold synonymous with Xbox since I played the original on the X360. It's sort of like when I picture the idea of seeing Master Chief on a PlayStation boot it's going to feel alien to me for a while if it happens.

But Microsoft essentially get what they want. My money, again. That's the bottom line, charging me/us again for games I've already played or haven't played yet.

Re: Xbox Announces Gears Of War: Reloaded, Releasing Summer 2025

GADG3Tx87

You can see where this is going. A remaster of the original and a remaster of each version in the franchise will follow effectively milking PlayStation players to pay for each version at £70 per game and maximise profit. That's the ultimate goal no doubt. Next will be Halo of that I no longer have any doubt. But it's not over for Xbox, as a console as their primary focus, yes likely. But you can see they're transitioning into a publisher on multiple platforms where GamePass will be their primary focus and ports second. It's a win-win really. The final minority of people need to accept that. As someone who owns a PS5 and uses it primarily, if Sony were to port the likes of Spider-Man and other games to Xbox that wouldn't bother me one bit. They port games on PC so why not.

Edit- heck having just thought about it seeing Horizon series on Xbox would be wild and that I'd like to see. It's a fantastic pair of games with a third installment in the works. Such a thing might even get me to transition my primary console to an Xbox if they started doing that.

Re: Phil Spencer Discusses Why Xbox Game Pass Isn't For Everyone These Days

GADG3Tx87

@Zenszulu personally I haven't been attracted to Sony's offering since it started and with the prices of their service set to increase I think even more people will be feeling that way before long. But I've also never been swayed by GP. Call me old fashioned but I still just prefer to buy my games outright, although I tend to wait for sales more often now.

Re: Phil Spencer Discusses Why Xbox Game Pass Isn't For Everyone These Days

GADG3Tx87

@Fiendish-Beaver if GamePass was as successful as he wanted it to be he wouldn't be dipping his toes putting first party games on PlayStation. I personally don't care if either of them do that in either direction but let's face it, he wouldn't have fought so hard for buying out studios just to give the competition everything they were already getting if GP was making waves like he hoped. He used to report on consoles sold and subscriber numbers for the first year this generation started then went eerily silent on it again. And after the ABK situation and games appearing on PS no one heard a peep from him for many months like he'd fallen off the earth and Nadella was the mouthpiece for a while.

Re: Former Xbox Exec Throws Shade At Switch 2, Says It's A 'Hard Pass'

GADG3Tx87

@Titntin
I'm kinda the opposite and mostly play my Switch in handheld either when I'm travelling or having an early night in bed. Mario Kart World really wowed me at the opening presentation and that alone is when I knew I'd want one at launch. Mario Kart 8 has overstayed it's welcome since the WiiU so a new entry is a welcome sight. And the new concept of an open world is very exciting.

I've still got plenty of Switch 1 games to get through, to my shame I've still yet to finish Tears of the Kingdom 😂. And I still want to pick up Echoes of Wisdom. I have a suspicion that we may soon see a remake (switch version) of Twilight Princess. It's odd that they announced the GameCube emulation with Wind Waker but not TP? which leads me to think it's possible a remake is coming and they'll want to entice people by possible holding back on a GC port. And speaking of the GameCube emulation I hope at long last they use it to raise a port of Metal Gear Solid The Twin Snakes from the grave. It only ever released on the GC and scoring a physical copy nowadays is pretty hard to do at a reasonable price.

Re: Former Xbox Exec Throws Shade At Switch 2, Says It's A 'Hard Pass'

GADG3Tx87

@Titntin
Thank you for the kind words sir.
Without going into too much detail I've been in bad health for years to do with my brain. Two weeks back I woke up in hospital after the most recent incident with no memory. Doctor told me I was lucky to survive it this time. Which hearing things like that puts it into perspective.

After I'd already ordered my Switch 2 my brother called me hesitating asking if I genuinely thought it was worth it. My response was simple. If two weeks ago taught me anything it's that you never know what tomorrow will bring. And you never know when your time's up, so enjoy it while you can if it's something that will bring you joy and you can afford it. I'll never force anyone to think like me, but that is all I can give is my advice and experience. I'm sure I'll have fun with it and that's what life is all about while you're here. And I wish anyone to enjoy their life in any way that brings them happiness.

Re: Former Xbox Exec Throws Shade At Switch 2, Says It's A 'Hard Pass'

GADG3Tx87

The opinions of other people don't matter to me at this point. I paid up my preorder in full yesterday for the Mario Kart World bundle on ShopTo (UK retailer). And honestly, personally I'm more excited by this than I have been for the output of both Xbox and PlayStation in the last couple of years. As far as those two go it's been a very underwhelming "generation" for me.

Not to mention my health is deteriorating and I'm slowly dying and can't take the money to the grave so might as well enjoy the time I have left.

Re: Kojima Productions Now Owns Death Stranding IP Following Xbox Release

GADG3Tx87

@Wisegamer

It's crazy to believe Sony isn't interested in this revenue; they're simply lagging behind. Xbox has been gradually transitioning to this model for years.

And yet they've bought a mobile porting studio, published select titles years later to PC and even porting to Nintendo. They only leave Xbox out because they have the least audience and most gamers have been conditioned into expecting everything on GamePass instead of buying, there are very few sales now. Which is why Phil Spencer has been complaining about some publisher's and developers who have been skipping Xbox entirely due to both that reason and the Series S parity. So you're comment isn't entirely accurate when there are some who happily don't publish/release on Xbox.

Re: Kojima Productions Now Owns Death Stranding IP Following Xbox Release

GADG3Tx87

@themightyant

But I was more referring to fanboys who rubbish games when they think it's an exclusive only to about turn when it's released on their platform. You KNOW you see it plenty.

Oh yeah definitely, see it all the time. And it won't be the last. If a Sony single player game arrives it'll go from "I don't play Sony's interactive movies" to "omg best news ever!" 😮‍💨

Re: Kojima Productions Now Owns Death Stranding IP Following Xbox Release

GADG3Tx87

@themightyant
For me that's another one too. Like Death Stranding I never had an interest in Starfield or played it. I'm very selective now how I spend my time within games and it didn't appeal to me. Personally I feel Bethesda's day in the spotlight is winding down. Ever since Skyrim they've been on the decline. FO76 for me was terrible, Fallout 4 was a fall from grace. The only game since Skyrim I even slightly liked was ESO. and yet I loved FO3.

Re: Kojima Productions Now Owns Death Stranding IP Following Xbox Release

GADG3Tx87

So basically Sony hasn't put this game on Xbox out of the goodness of their hearts like people assumed, it's that they have very little if any say on it.

So much for people thinking Sony are going full publisher. People would be more likely to see live service games appear than anything single player from them on Xbox. If ever. Not even Lego Horizon went to Xbox despite going to Nintendo Switch.

Re: Report: Ubisoft Is Considering A Buyout From Tencent & Partners

GADG3Tx87

@ShutenDoji
After their handling of Activision and breaking their promises to the regulators of nurturing them, not shutting down any studios of letting any staff go while firing over 12000 the regulators will be on their ass for that. And what with the higher ups at Microsoft taking the reigns and wanting to see a return in their 69 billion investment which is failing is unlikely. Phil is on very thin ice as it is.

Re: Is Silent Hill 2 Remake Coming To Xbox? Here's Everything We Know So Far

GADG3Tx87

@GamingFan4Lyf
Well there was always that itsy bitsy email from Aaron Greenberg to Phil that was brought up in the Activision trial that stated "we are in a unique position to spend Sony out of the industry" so... Let's not pretend they haven't or wouldn't try and do the same by spending ludicrous amounts on the biggest buyout in the history of gaming.

Re: Phil Spencer Invites Xbox Fans To Tune Into Tokyo Games Show 2024 Broadcast

GADG3Tx87

Don't know why they're bothering. They shut down their only Japanese studio after it made a big hit game and got crucified for it. Japanese people won't forget that since Tango were a beloved studio and Xbox have ruined their only real shot at the Japanese market they've ever had.

I know Tango developers were reaquired but the fact that Xbox shut them down after they released a hit will haunt them forever I'm sure. It goes to show that under Xbox management even making a good game doesn't save you from their stupid leadership.
