Talking Point: Which Xbox Game Will Move To PS5 Next?

With the news of Gears of War: Reloaded this week, we have confirmation of another Xbox title moving over to PS5 - as Microsoft squeezes the accelerator on its multiplatform strategy. Although this is merely a re-release of the original Gears of War (specifically the Ultimate Edition remaster from 2015), it still feels like a significant move for MS, given that Gears is one of Xbox's flagship IP. The question is - what do you think is next?

Here at the Pure Xbox offices, we've been having a little of a debate on this recently. Some of us reckon that Halo will be next in some form — dropping even as early as later this year — while others think Microsoft might be a bit more cautious with its most famous franchise. Could Halo really be next? How do you think Microsoft would tackle that one when the time comes?

Another fairly obvious choice for an upcoming PS5 port is Bethesda's Starfield. Things have gotten a little quiet around this spacefaring RPG in recent months, but the team did announce Shattered Space last summer, so maybe another update/expansion combined with a PS5 release this year? Who knows, but after the launch of Oblivion Remastered, this Bethesda title feels like it's on the cards for a PS5 port at some point, anyway.

Of course, there's plenty of other choices for Xbox to look into here as well. The team could go further back into its catalogue of titles and bring some of those to other platforms - or, it could take a look at some of its less-established recent releases like South of Midnight and Avowed and think about opening those up to new audiences. All we know for now is that Gears Reloaded is moving very soon, and there's likely to be plenty more after that.

So, which Xbox game do you think will head over to PS5 next? Spitball and speculate down in the comments section below.
