As you may well know, it's been possible for a long time to emulate certain consoles on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, but it's certainly not something you're supposed to do - Microsoft even clamped down on it at one point.
However, the scene has continued to evolve, and we've spotted a trend emerging this week about GameCube games on Xbox Series X specifically, which is to do with a new version of the Dolphin emulator that's been released.
Now, we've seen a lot of people in the comments of these posts and articles asking how to set up GameCube games on their Xbox Series X and S, and we're going to warn you that it's not a good idea in our opinion.
Does it work? Yes. Are there cool features? Yes. However, you have to set up an Xbox developer account to even get access to it (which costs $20), and you're at the mercy of Microsoft and whatever punishment the company wants to dish out. They haven't done anything about it yet, but could strike at any point if they want to.
Anyway, it's your choice at the end of the day, but we're going to keep watching this from afar. It's certainly cool to see though, and emulation has come a long way since the Series X and S released back in late 2020.
