Re: Microsoft's 'This Is An Xbox' Post Taken Down As Fans Wonder If The Controversial Ad Is No More

FuzzieGinge88

People saying it diminishes the value of the Xbox brand are missing the point. They are struggling to sell consoles, the value of the xbox brand has already diminished to the point that was even necessary in the first place. It's been a downward spiral since Don Mattrick's spectacular fumble on the Xbox One reveal. You look at Xbox (former) first party titles and they're nowhere near as good as what is offered by PlayStation PS4 games with a basic PS5 upgrade look better than most Series X games. This campaign may have been slammed by the fans but it isn't the reason that Xbox is in decline. Lack of imagination and quality in the games, lack of inginuity or invention (Sony always bring something new with each console or controller). They made the same mistake Sony made when they messed up the PS3, they took their dominance for granted and became arrogant and sloppy.

Re: 'It Will Lead In Performance' - Xbox's Price Tag For Project Helix Could Be Pretty High

FuzzieGinge88

They already said their next console will be a "premium experience with a premium price tag". At least they're trying, but it's already too late. Those consumers they lost to PS4 after the 360 won't be going back, they have over a decade of digital content that they can't just pick up and take to Xbox, why would they go? Just to play PC games? When was the last time you saw a PC exclusive game be the game that everyone wants to play? It just doesn't happen. The ability to play PC games will be almost redundant within a few months of launch. Nobody cares.

Re: Opinion: Xbox Should Consider Cancelling Halo: Campaign Evolved For PS5

FuzzieGinge88

You talk about Halo Xbox long term legacy, Xbox doesn't have a long term legacy anymore. They messed that up with the absolutely insane decision made around Xbox One and debacle that followed. With digital being as big as it is now and PlayStation absolutely wiping the floor with Xbox for 2 straight generations now, they can't recover. People are less likely to move now seeing as their game libraries are tied to 1 console. Going back on the decision that have already been made will destroy what's left of Xbox. Fans need to understand that Xbox is business and businesses don't take customer sentiment into consideration when making decisions surrounding money. Sharma may say she "hears" the fans, but hearing and listening are 2 completely different things. Don't be fooled by her words, they think they're smarter than the average fan and will say whatever you want them too to keep you onside.

Re: Is It Worth Buying An Xbox One In 2026?

FuzzieGinge88

I got my Xbox One in 2014 and wasn't even worth my time then really. Just from own personal opinion, I already had a PS4 and that was so much better than the One. The one always seemed clunky and slow to navigate, download speeds were absolutely awful and just as today the first party games to those on PS4 just weren't good enough. My Xbox One quickly became an ornamental piece sat next to my PS4 and eventually even my Switch One. The same is true now for my Series X. The overall experience of using the console is better but it is again lacking games and those it does have just aren't up to the standard of PS5. Again my Series X just sits with my PS5 and Switch 2 collecting dust. The most disappointing thing of all though is the fact the Xbox 360 was an amazing console from the day I got it and Xbox just seemed to have dropped the ball on everything they've released since. They had the glory days of the 360 and haven't reached the same standards since.

Re: Talking Point: How Do You Feel About Halo: Campaign Evolved Launching Day One On PS5?

FuzzieGinge88

@TheGameThrifter the thing is they're only saying they aren't interested in exclusives anymore is because they can't sell consoles so their exclusives don't sell. They bought Activision thinking it would sink PlayStation but it didn't work quite exactly as they planned. All this "we don't like exclusives" is nothing more than a cover story for their continued abject failure since the reveal of the Xbox One.

Re: New Sales Data Highlights How Xbox Is 'Dominating' PS5 Right Now

FuzzieGinge88

Sounds good until you realise the only reason this is possible is because of the absolutely massive amounts of PS5 consoles sold compared to Xbox. If Xbox weren't selling their games on PS5 they'd barely have any software sales. This isn't a comment from PlayStation fanboy point of view either, I have PS5 and Series X, but "dominating" is a rather strong way to put it when you put it into context.

Re: DOOM's OG Creator Praises Xbox Game Pass For Removing 'Barriers'

FuzzieGinge88

Nobody should want it. Having no exclusives reduces the need for multiple consoles, in turn meaning we only need one console maker which then due to lack competition will stifle the creative process. I mean why make a console as good as you can when you have no competition to beat. Competition drives creation. This approach of Microsoft is good for them because it's a shortcut to making money because they failed with their consoles so instead of trying to build a better product they just go mutli-platform to tap into a revenu stream they wouldn't have without this new approach. It's lazy and a money grabbing exercise from Microsoft. It's good for gamers in the short term, but long term it will lead to disaster for gamers.

Re: Croc Developer Insists There's 'Almost No Demand' For A Physical Xbox Version

FuzzieGinge88

I'm guessing the gamers that shower their OWN PERSONAL collection were yanks with that typical "world revolves around us" attitude. There is next to no demand for it because at the moment there is next to no demand for Xbox worldwide. I love my Series X when it's time to waste time on Halo or Forza, but for everything else Switch and PS5 are the go to consols for most people now.

Instead of jumping on the developers, fans should jump on Microsoft for their abysmal handling of Xbox since the 360. They let that massive success go to their heads (let's face it, 360 was the absolute boss of that gen)and they massively dropped the ball with Xbox One and haven't recovered since.

Re: Microsoft CEO Gaming Division Update: 'We Continue To Extend Our Content To New Platforms'

FuzzieGinge88

@Medic_alert unfortunately MS don't actually care about gamers feelings. They're not in this business to massage your emotions. They're here to make money and the best way they can do that is by releasing games on different platforms. You may not like it but their consoles have become the same just with better graphics every generation
There is 0 innovation or imagination at Xbox these days. They don't do anything different. They just give us a newly designed big black box and leave us to it. Their 1st party IP's are far behind those of PlayStation in terms of quality that it's surprising they even bother these days.

So as I say, they don't care about your feelings, and losing a few gamers like you over your emotions isn't going to bother them when porting their games to Playstation and Switch opens them up to at least 200 million extra gamers 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Re: Rumour: Xbox's PS5 Ports Have 'Slowed Down' Following Indiana Jones Announcement

FuzzieGinge88

@Medic_alert the problem with that approach is that the long game is already too long for MS. Their console designs are not imaginative enough and never offer anything new other than improved graphics and load times. Manufactures more often than not sell their consoles at a loss and make up for it with software sales. They aren't shifting console so they won't be shifting software in the numbers they need to. Going multi platform makes complete and utter sense, even, and especially, if they want to remain in the console market too. The sales from software wont bring enough money for them to continue making consoles to make financial sense.

Re: Rumour: Xbox's PS5 Ports Have 'Slowed Down' Following Indiana Jones Announcement

FuzzieGinge88

From a financial and business point of view I can't see MS shelving their plans for multi-plat releases. Xbox fanboy reactions will alway be based on their over-sensitive feeling than anything based in reality. MS are in the gaming market not for the feelings of gamers, but to make money. There is a massive difference between the number of PS5 owners and the number of Xbox owners. Releasing their games on PS5 will make them money than just releasing on Xbox and PC. Gamers that don't understand this are blinded by feelings. If you want to continue playing Xbox IP's you better get used to them releasing on PS5 because with Xbox console sales so low MS won't continue to invest in games much longer without a financial incentive.

Re: Talking Point: Does Microsoft Have A '30FPS' Problem With Its Xbox Series X|S Output?

FuzzieGinge88

I'm sorry, you've done PS5 a disservice here. Completely missing out games like Spiderman 2 and Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart just seems like you've ignored them on purpose because it proves the point you're trying to avoid. Also, while The Last of Us Part 1 is last gen, the remake isn't. It was built for the PS5 and doesn't even have a PS4 release. I'm not a PS5 fanboy (before anybody even thinks that, I have that and a Series X) but looking at the performance of something like Starfield even with the 60FPS mode, it's shocking compared to what you're we're getting with Spiderman 2 on PS5. This is an issue Xbox need to solve and I think that needs to start with getting rid of the Series S requirement, it's obviously affecting development as it's even been mentioned by multiple devs. Developing games for Series X that need to run on Series S was a good idea to begin with, but as the devs tap into to obvious power the Series X has it's going to make fitting them on the Series S too even more difficult.

Re: Reaction: Indiana Jones And The Great Circle's PS5 Announcement Marks A Bold Step For Xbox

FuzzieGinge88

@BacklogBrad they may have survived on the back of Forza, Halo and Gears for 15+ years but the most recent entries in all 3 of those IP's are nowhere near the standard of the games that propelled them to the top. Xbox are losing ground everywhere to PlayStation and throwing money at the problem, e.g. buying Activitision, is not going to solve it and I think the backlash from people thinking CoD would stop being multiplatform showed them that having exclusivity on games wont help them in the long run either. So yes, while they have been propped up by Forza, Halo and Gears, that is no longer the case and they can't depend on that anymore

Re: Reaction: Indiana Jones And The Great Circle's PS5 Announcement Marks A Bold Step For Xbox

FuzzieGinge88

Moves like this makes perfect sense. The install base of PlayStation is massive compared to that of Xbox and it's growing. Microsoft have realised this and realised they can't change it now. They have games PlayStation owners want and they know PlayStation owners wont buy an Xbox for a small of exclusive games. Releasing multiplatform going forward means they can probably double, triple or even quadruple software sales by tapping into the Playstation market. It could spark the beginning of the end of Xbox as a console manufacturer (that would be bad for the industry) but they're profit will certainly get a massive boost as a game publisher instead. Xbox only players may not like this, but they need to remember regardless of any messages saying gamers are important to Microsoft, their sole aim is to make profit and you can guarantee they will do whatever is necessary to make that profit regardless of your feelings.

Re: Xbox's 'Slimy Platform Things' Comment Draws Attention Of Former PlayStation Boss

FuzzieGinge88

As an owner past and present of all PlayStation and Xbox consoles I'm certainly not a fanboy to either side, but Phil is wrong here and quite hypocritical. While Sony have employed certain tactics using money to get timed exclusivity here and there, you know what I find a more slimy tactic: paying $60 billion dollars to buy IP's because the teams you already have, have let their IP's stagnate and you can't really come up with any new fresh ideas that can sell your consoles. Maybe it's just me but buying success rather than making it yourself and then being critical of others for splashing the cash is just a tad childish and pathetic really.

Phil Spencer: we wont do slimy platform things

Also Phil Spencer: let's buy up the best developers so they make our platform better.

I hate hypocrisy.

Re: Talking Point: What Convinced You To Pick Xbox In The First Place?

FuzzieGinge88

I started way back in 2004 with the OG Xbox simply because of Halo. I had PS2 at the time and was (to my own grown up disappointment) a fanboy. That was until a friend nagged and nagged and nagged me to go and play Halo after school. i did and I've had every Xbox and PlayStation released since. Can't choose between them as there are exclusives games on both consoles I love to play.
