Re: Microsoft Says Xbox Game Pass 'Creates Another Option' For Devs To Make Money

EquiinoxGII

Surely.. just surely everyone who has signed up to put their game on the service knows of the consequences.. I mean, for consumers gamepass is fantastic value, no one can deny that. but if you are a dev, you know you'll be losing sales. (But MS paid you a lump sum) so I suppose it just depends on if the game you have made will make a good chunk of profit, or the MS payment will cover the projected sales. Either way you'll lose money as you can never be spot on. That's the risk you would take.

Re: 2023 Has Already Treated Us To Multiple GOTY Candidates On Xbox

EquiinoxGII

Honestly, we all know it's never inventive games that win, and very rarely games that are only on one system. But.. if I have to put money on any game taking it this year (and it isn't our yet) and that is Zelda. Games like Spiderman will never win, neither with Hi-Fi or Hogwarts. Starfield might stand a good chance (if it delivers) but I still think Zelda will take the gong.

Re: Microsoft Causes Confusion With Statement About Sony 'Excluding' Games From Xbox

EquiinoxGII

@Immovablegamer6669 but call of duty wouldn't be exclusive as Microsoft has stated that.. they are asking about FF being exclusive, but as far as we know the remake exclusive period has ended. There are zero facts to support that FF has been paid out to not be on Xbox, or all square games for that fact. All we know is that they are year exclusive deals. Anything after that, it's entirely up to square on how they/where they publish their games.

Re: Microsoft Causes Confusion With Statement About Sony 'Excluding' Games From Xbox

EquiinoxGII

Such a weak argument. Microsoft are sounding like absolute babies at the moment. Gears of war, Horizon, Dead Rising, Ryse. Some games that have been made by other Devs but published by Xbox. (Microsoft paid for the rights) you cannot criticise other companies on something you have done in the past yourself. It's like telling my 18 year old son not to drink alcohol when I was a wreck at 18.. haha

Re: Xbox Confirms Exclusivity Plans For Three Upcoming Bethesda Games

EquiinoxGII

Microsoft are no better than Sony where this matters, moaning about exclusive rights, but noting that they want games to be inclusive so everyone can play them, but then noting that single player games and smaller focused games are not inclusive to everyone but exclusive to Xbox. The more and more this story opens up, the more they are releasing colliding statements of intent. Christ... I know what. Let's cut this crap from both sides of the pond and ban any outright sale purchases unless deemed necessary (i.e saving a company from folding)

Re: Microsoft Refers To Lack Of Xbox Exclusives As Why ActiBlizz Deal Should Be Approved

EquiinoxGII

I can remember the days when there was so many exclusives from the green team! Buying existing Devs isn't unusual for any company.. Sony has done it, MS has! (Rare for example) the main issue here, which has been mentioned, is that past Microsoft has ruined those developers or created such a bad reputation with them that they disbanded or moved on and went independent. I understand business requires closures some times, but they had so many great games in the past, the original Xbox was incredible for in house developed games. One of the reasons I was sold into the ecosystem. If they still had those established Devs now, they would be releasing good quality games. While I love gamepass, unfortunately it has been a huge burden on development.

Re: Report: Microsoft Offers Sony The 'Right' To Include Call Of Duty On PlayStation Plus

EquiinoxGII

Christ this story is so boring now.. haha! I doubt Sony would want to take this up still, as it doesn't resolve their issues surrounding profit. Why do you think that their own exclusives arent on PS Plus until a few years down the line. It will still go through of course, but I don't think Sony will accept any of the deals, unless they are told that it won't go on gamepass. That's what they truly want.

Re: Rumour: Xbox Might Be Planning 'Some Kind Of Event' For Early 2023

EquiinoxGII

Hopefully this is a decent year for Xbox, I suppose all we can do is hope that they release a reasonable amount of games. Which is hindsight is a possibility. 3 games for sure, it's just when they are released. This year on PS, we have basically seen 4 major exclusives (one a remake) so if MS can aim for 4 spread throughout the year and some filler games, then I'm sure that's a good aim.

Re: Xbox Fans Left Disappointed With Lack Of First-Party Reveals At The Game Awards 2022

EquiinoxGII

Exactly the reason why I still haven't invested in a series X, I'm continually on the fence. I have the money ready, but until a see some kind of line up for 2023 there isn't any need to upgrade my one x. From the original Xbox to 360, those days were fantastic and I don't regret investing my money into those systems. Even the one I took a gamble and invested, but it's just been downhill.

Re: Phil Spencer Admits 'Something Had To Give' With Price Of First-Party Xbox Games

EquiinoxGII

@Dezzy70 couldn't agree more. If the games are incredible quality, then the price has never bothered me. Tbh, you'll always find them a little lower in cost anyway, I've bought multiple PS games and I haven't paid the full whack! My only concern is the gamepass route, most people really don't pay for the disk version due to having gamepass, so will that be their excuse if it's only A or AA.

Re: Microsoft Shows Frustration As Sony Fails To Respond To 10-Year Call Of Duty Offer

EquiinoxGII

At the end of the day, this benefits Microsoft. So Sony are not going to want to make it easy. It's not about consumers, it's about profit. And it always has been. It's a business at the end of the day (built by consumers) so no COD, means no profit, COD on gamepass means less profit. That's the reason. I understand their reasoning for sure, but the reality is, this will most likely happen and PS needs a plan of action to help reduce the lack of profit, as they will be losing a ton of money, the same applies to Microsoft. Anyone thinking that they are doing this from the godness of their hearts is insane, it's about profit - this going on gamepass would boost subscribers and increase money flow. We can all be against each side, the fact is we are all in the same boat, using either console encourages us to spend our cash on their services and games. Both want our money and doing these sort of acquisitions controls us in buying into their ecosystems.

Re: Xbox Owners Stunned By 'Insane' Fortnite Graphics Following Unreal Engine 5.1 Upgrade

EquiinoxGII

@grumpypotato the only issues that might arise is the difference in graphics. Like anything.. if I had two graphics and one was cartoon and one was ultra realistic, what would render first? The cartoon version. Less pixels and detail. That's the same when it comes to FPS, how many pixels render on screen. So just because they have done this for Fortnite. It doesn't mean it would be achievable on a game that really works the system graphically.

Re: Activision Has 'Concerns' About Xbox Game Pass And PS Plus, Explains Microsoft

EquiinoxGII

Everyone will be moaning in 10 years when game devs make lesser games as it doesn't make them any money. As much as I think gamepass is great and very good value, I do genuinely believe over time we will be seeing a huge reduction in quality, really we have already seen it to a degree, especially as it's one sided, eventually those games won't be selling on playstation very well as you'll just invest in an Xbox of some sort.

Re: SEGA Responds As Sonic Frontiers Suffers Performance Issue On Xbox Series S

EquiinoxGII

@Nalverus very true, but a game isn't built for next gen based on 1080p/60. The problem is with all systems not just the series S, but they should be ready to push the boundaries, which is possible. The series x and ps5 already struggle with hitting the specs they need, wether we like it or not, the series S is more akin to a "meet in the middle" spec. Its very close to the one x.

Re: 'Forspoken' PS5 Delay Means It Won't Come To Xbox Until 2025

EquiinoxGII

@dsar9012 couldn't agree more, unfortunately my Xbox has gathered so much dust recently and it's sad to see, I was Xbox through and through since the original, but as it stands I just don't have enough reason to boot it up or upgrade it to the series X, I'm sure the time will come, but when that will be who knows.
