@ZuneTattooGuy I could have worded that better, what I meant was with you implying that the article was somehow slandering Xbox in comparison to Sony. I think the PS and Nindy install basses are large enough to wheather the storm with physical.

Also important to note is digital game sales were only 21%- so we are talking 75% of revenue was mic4oT's and subscriptions. Which is utterly staggering

I think physical for the other two will be fine as well. We aren't privy to all the information, and depending on what metrics you use it can skew things a little

@ZuneTattooGuy That's a heck of a reach..... You went in with that mindset and applied it to the article.... PS regularly posts numbers on digital vs physical and it's not even close. However I think there is still a healthy profit margin for physical Nindy and Sony, even with only "30%" sales being physical and so they are keeping them around, to include higher install bases as well

@GamingFan4Lyf " Increase the price and nothing more"- I get that point. However when the controller is implemented properly its an aewsome experience, and it really does feel proper next generation.
When I first got my Xbox X controller I was gutted, it felt and sounded "cheap". It did have a slight break in period, and I think it's decent, but it was the first controller I've ever had crap out on me, right after Black Friday too ha ha.

@HonestHick This is one of those weird quirks folks bring up between the two controller lay outs I just cant figureout. I'm 6'5" or 195.5 cm's and have pretty large hands. 1000's of hours on Dualsense and never cramped.
I really wonder if it's playing with offset sticks for years upsets the tendons? I love the Xbox controller, but it does feel a tad cheap and my 1st stopped working so I'll gladly take a revision

As a MH and CD provider at a major hospital it was such a surreal moment to play from her point of view, it will be pretty fascinating to experience this again with a "new" set of internal and external stimulus affecting her

Those screenshots are a tad suspicious, almost too "pretty".
I honestly don't know what I was expecting with this, but I never dreamed the gameplay would look so bad. I've watched the Direct video several times and the combat is so so so woefully bad. It didn't improve from the 1st reveal, which is alarming.

This is my childhood gift wrapped in Indy goodness for adult me to fawn over.

I have a great deal of faith in Machine Games to make this a lot of fun!

I'm not sure what I was expecting from Avowed, but it wasn't this. Outerworlds was really fun, but slapping in different textures and going "floaty melee" looks a tad....eh.
I have a gut feeling these" moral choices ' are going to just be the same thing Outerworlds offered.

Combat looks like a mess .....damn

I honestly didn't enjoy it like I have the others.
It wasn't bad, but the bullet system was so dumb, it was absolutely pointless.
Also the setting was pretty cliche,
Far Cry 2- Africa
Far Cry 4- Himalayas
Far Cry 5- Montana

Those were awesome playgrounds, the jungle is boring and it's been done to death

I was a huge fan of Rage, and 2 was a blast, I still need to go back and try NG+.

Having said that, the original ending to RAGE was a traumatic experience, bad beyond compare😬

So all the disappointing reviews on Xbox and Steam are largely by those who have not played it huh.
I played it after the 1st major patch... .. the shooting was bad, the glitches were pretty bad, A.I was horrendous, the presentation was juvenile at best- it was an objectively bad game
I can't define how devastated I was with the game. As a huge FarCry fan this was a dream mash up of FarCry and Steven Kings " Salems Lot" book.
It deserved to be drug through the mud, especially as a Xbox 1st party

@somnambulance Spot on, this year was such a Remarkable example of why gaming is so captivating and really only rivaled by books. The depth and breadth of SO many ways to revele in our imagination and live our fantasies has rarely had a better year.

Back on point, gaming as a business platform is constantly ebbing and flowing. I've seen these same threads and talking points for the last 20 years and we still have the same 3( oh and Steam) companies trading technology and business practices that we always have.

Unless the next year or two are just disasters for the MS publishing arm I expect entities to remain steady

This game runs supreme on the Stream Deck, seriously pretty fun.
It will be interesting to see what the Deck can handle

I've got the exact complaints of everyone in here, but the Temples...... my God the Temples are such an inane game mechanic. There is nothing fun, challenging, redeeming or sensible abut them and it's an important mechanism.

I have 172 hours in Starfield....... I think 40 of those might have been me actually falling asleep while playing.....😁

Outriders I had 113, freaking loved that game.

Also weird I'm sure I I put a good few hours into Bond and I'm not seeing it.

My ps5 has been lonely this year , Tiny Tina and Black Ops

My Steam Deck got a ton of attention this year

@InheritNegative Same GameSpot was my go to for E3 during those years. The console wars were glorious😁.
The true " World Premieres" were magical.
It's been an awesome ride, from late 80s, early 90s Sega and Nintendo, to the PS1 and the OG Xbox/Halo that consumed gaming culture.

I'm going to really truly miss E3, but the ride getting here I wouldn't trade for anything

@SAHgamer There is also the issue of the game being badly coded to handle their engines I.D. algorithm, basically if you don't do NG+ the game is no longer able to keep track of anything and it crashes.
I explained it badly, but basically the longer you play without wiping the memory with new game plus the more it crashes

Seriously gorgeous, but I'm a little bit concerned about the flash VS substance. Every time I see this it feels like an abstract painting that someone is trying to pass off as a genuine realism oil painting....

@Sol4ris I think it comes back to this being a true mainline Bethesda title. These are such hugely anticipated games that any "interesting" story will attract attention.

Look, the game is just a tad on the average side. It's by far my most underwhelming Bethesda game. It's a Mainline Bethesda release so of course it will be a traffic driving machine for a while. Believe it or not, a game can be nothing special all in its own, the need to attribute any failings to fanboys is a little sad

For those who just play COD campaigns, I grabbed MW2 for 20 at Target

I actually bought FO4 for my Deck and been having a blast because I just missed playing a solid Bethesda game with exploration. It's really depressing how bland Starfield is. After the 20 same POI and 4 Temples, I just couldn't anymore
It's like having a Supreme Pizza for every meal, a little bit of everything and great at nothing
