More and more, I can see a future where most of Microsoft’s first party titles are available on PlayStation or Switch (2). It just seems inevitable. Also, seeing the pre order of Sea of Thieves doing so well on PlayStation, that won’t have gone unnoticed by the bosses at Redmond!
Super excited to play this again!! Rare have slowly built this into a fantastic game all round! I played a bit on Xbox, but since my main friends group is on Playstation, I’ll be playing this at launch with them! It’s going to be excellent!
Although it’s cool to finally know exactly when Microsoft will address all the rumours surrounding their future as a hardware platform, nothing is going to really change things moving forward unless the games that they are supposedly making available to PS5, namely Hi Fi Rush and Sea of Thieves sell exceptionally well on PlayStation.
Going by the polls on Push Square, if Microsoft confirm anything other than Gears or Halo making their way to PlayStation, it’s not going to move the needle in the slightest..
I voted for Gears of War. That game was the main reason why I picked up the Xbox360 and proceeded to play that game for months on end! Amazing game. Halo however, I am not really a fan of that game series at all, I have tried to like it, but nothing about it really resonated with me. Only thing I liked halo esq was the Limited Edition Halo Series X console that I bought.
Old Yves, he certainly is a character. I personally think he would have a hard time remembering what he had for breakfast in the morning. Asking him about Microsoft probably blew his mind!
No smoke without fire. In all honesty, the silence is going to cause way more problems for Microsoft. Every YouTuber and influencer will have a whole week to ‘reeducate the masses’ that don’t really know the ins and outs of things and this will end up being a situation whereby even if Microsoft says they are going to look at games Case by Case for real as opposed to the vague answers during acquisitions of Bethesda and ActiBlizz, everyone will think that it would be a case of ‘When’ not ‘If’ a first party exclusive makes its way to PlayStation. I personally think that Microsoft will port way more to the PlayStation than everyone is thinking. With sales and Gamepass subscriptions stagnating, there is way too much money being left on the table by not changing strategy. I also think that there will be a world where Xbox won’t really exist, but Microsoft will take everything they now own and be the most dominant 3rd party developer in the industry bar none. If Phil had come out and denied everything, that would have been settling, but to say nothing for a whole week and let everything completely get out of hand definitely shows to me personally that next week is going to sting a little!
See if the worst comes to the worst for Xbox fans and Microsoft goes software only, the people that are saying that Gamepass won’t be allowed on PlayStation are forgetting that the Gamepass that would be on the PS5 wouldn’t be the same as the one that is doing the rounds right now, There wouldn’t be the titles that are on it from other developers, focusing on Microsoft’s first party titles instead, so it would be a streamed down version, but with some of the games that Microsoft has behind them, it would be a hellova lot better that the services currently offered by EA and Ubisoft. Having a service available with all the first party games that are offered by Microsoft definitely would have me subbing to the service. I honestly think games like Forza Horizon is unmatched on PlayStation for instance and like EA and Ubisoft, their games are still offered for sale on PSN for people that don’t sub to the services offered by the 2 aforementioned developers. It really can go one of 2 ways, Microsoft go all in as a 3rd party studio, or they say again that they will go with a case by case on games coming to PlayStation, but that will cause issues as people from now until next week will be fed that Xbox is dead and that every game will be on PlayStation which could have people buying into the idea that if they have PlayStation then they will be fully covered moving forward Dangerous few weeks ahead for sure.
@Kaloudz For all the replies you throw in favour of the Xbox situation right now bud, you need to get a job in PR for Microsoft!! You would be an asset compared to the muppets that are allowing this to get out of hand!! 😄
It really is ‘When’ not ‘If’ now. I am all for more people getting the chance to play more games, but due to the far lower sales that would be generated from Sony selling their games on Xbox, it definitely would be only a one way thing now. Now that the rumours over the weekend are all being highlighted by every streamer and YouTube influencer and the usual outlets like IGN and Gamespot, the casuals are seeing now that there is a real possibility that they really don’t need to get Xbox Consoles to play Xbox games and the more people react to this by ditching the console, the more games Microsoft will release on the PlayStation. It’s really a vicious cycle waiting to happen!
With the amount of PlayStation owners out there, this was an inevitable conclusion to Microsoft acquisitions over the last few years. Gamepass subscribers have plateaued and the possibilities of making money from the games rumoured to arrive on PlayStation is an appeasement to the higher up Microsoft executives that don’t see brand loyalties, only $€£! It definitely must sting to read that a game once described as the saviour of Xbox and a bonafide Console exclusive could possibly be heading to a rival format in the case of Starfield also. It’s simple, Starfield didn’t sell consoles as expected and now I personally think that more and more games that were touted as exclusives will head to PlayStation. Microsoft have a huge catalogue of games behind them now and it would be foolhardy to think that any of their games won’t now be evaluated to appear on PlayStation. The format is selling huge amounts more than the Xbox consoles and I have stated before that it really is only a matter of time before Microsoft go 3rd party. They have always been about software first and foremost across all their devisions, so this isn’t even going to be a difficult transition. Hellblade 2 will definitely release soon after release on PlayStation also if all the rumours flying around about everything else are true, because the first game was released on PS4, so there is a genuinely high amount of people that would buy a sequel. I bought the original on PS4 and I would prefer to play the sequel on PS5. In all honesty, Zenimax really is the least of the worries for Xbox Fans, as their games were synonymous with PlayStation anyway. The bigger worries would be if some of the other acquired studios start porting games across to PlayStation like Hellblade 2, Gears of War, Fable or the ilk, then it will be more and more likely that there won’t be the need for an Xbox Console anymore. All this is only my personal opinion guys.
Quick addition, as I have said before, as long as PlayStation has FIFA, Fortnite, Grand Theft Auto and Call of Duty, it really won’t make too much difference to the sales numbers for the next generation and beyond. People will always go PlayStation due to brand loyalty and with the additional sales possibilities for Microsoft to have their games on the rival format, it’s just way too much to ignore. Also, people say that GamePass wouldn’t be allowed on PlayStation? I think that’s false. EA Play and Ubisofts service are both available, so it wouldn’t be far fetched to expect Gamepass to be available too. And let’s be honesty, it would be a hellova lot better than to other 2 services I mentioned. With Microsoft owning such a huge chunk of the pie, Sony definitely wouldn’t say no to Gamepass anymore and there would be far different financial deals in place between them that would make it worthwhile to both of them.
Oh fantastic, not happy with getting smashed by Sony in the home market, Microsoft would like to try and take on Nintendo in the Handheld market? That would be a bloodbath that I wouldn’t like to see. I think the rumours of Sony and Microsoft greenlighting handhelds are simply that, just rumours. Out of the 2, I would say that Sony has more of a chance at releasing something, but Microsoft would be better placed to just release 1st party games on rival formats, it’s safer and as it has shown with releasing games on Nintendo Switch in the past, it works very well for Microsoft. Ori and Cuphead were 2 games that I probably played more because it was available on a handheld format. Given the mobile gaming devision that Microsoft are also working on, they have a market that dwarfs all else waiting for them, mobile phones.
The excuse of a weaker than expected console market is bad comedy. The only console that is weakening is the Xbox and let’s be honest, had it not been that the console was made by Microsoft with all their billions and now trillions, it would have been defunct years ago. Whether people like it or not, the Xbox business will soon be ‘Microsoft Gamepass’ and it won’t matter if Sony is the dominant console manufacture, Microsoft have the games behind them now that they will be the 3rd party powerhouse with the option of having all games on their books available to everyone. They wouldn’t be wasting billions on console R&D and if they were to do thinks right, the quality of games would be higher than they are now. Opening Gamepass up to rival consoles is where Microsoft’s business would explode. Although Gamepass would be entirely different than it is now, focusing on ‘just’ what Microsoft owns, and that is a huge amount, they would be able to follow on Phil Spencer’s promise of delivering more games to gamers, because if they stay as is, I can’t see another generation making too much difference as far as the sales are concerned. As long as COD, Fortnite, FIFA and Grand Theft Auto are available on PlayStation, the sales margins won’t change. If Gamepass was available on PlayStation, I wouldn’t be even slightly concerned about having an Xbox console at all and it wouldn’t matter about 10 year deals. I wouldn’t buy a different console just for Gamepass, but I wouldn’t hesitate subbing to Gamepass for Microsoft’s games on PlayStation. I don’t really like COD, but if I could play Forza on PlayStation I would be super pleased! This is just my opinion though, no need for other who feel different to flame me! 🙏🏻
So, this will likely be the only way to get a Hellblade 2 physical collectors edition. That game was crying out for something special, so hopefully that gets the physical treatment from Limited Run, iam8bit or the ilk….
If something gets released on PlayStation that is an Xbox exclusive, then I think this is the start of more to come. Perhaps Microsoft is testing the water for potential to pave the way as more of a 3rd party developer in the future.
I subscribed to GamePass for a month when It came out so I could play it, but hype got the better of me personally because I didn’t like the game at all. Stopped after about 30 hours of gameplay without feeling it was going to get better. Spent the rest of my months sub playing Forza Horizon 4 and Sea of Thieves.
In this day and age, everything is taken out of context. It was a joke I’m sure. Let’s be honest, CD Projekt Red knew they messed up the launch big time and look at Cyberpunk now. Same with No man’s Sky. If there were ever 2 developers that can get away with a joke about fixing a game as time goes on, it’s these 2. They both made amazing games out of 2 bad starts.
Microsoft’s next big acquisition will be Electrolux!! With a little screen on the Xbox themed appliances, the goal of getting Gamepass on EVERY home appliance is well under way! 😂
I literally posted about this a week or so ago. Microsoft will be the largest 3rd party in gaming bar none and having Gamepass on PlayStation and Nintendo will be their next major goal to their endgame. As a PlayStation gamer, I will be more than happy to subscribe to Gamepass on the console I play mostly on, it will just be like EA Play, only there will be a lot of games I want to actually play.
I bought the Halo console, because you know, it’s Halo, but from now on I would assume that there will be wraps released. I think this would be the logical way forward, similarly to what PlayStation does with the shells, it would just make sense that people could make a console look like a game that they were invested in without going and having to spend full price for a new console (which I did 6 times last gen).
Be still my beating heart!!! It looks better and better each time this is shown, 22nd March can’t come soon enough now!! I’ll be checking the import sites over the next few days incase there is a Collectors Edition released in Japan! Now that this is also almost done and dusted, I wonder if Hideaki Itsuno turns his attention to a possible Devil May Cry 6!? 🤞🏻🤞🏻
I would be happy to see GamePass on PlayStation in the future, and I personally think this will be the case in a generation or 2. No matter the acquisition, Microsoft will find it very difficult to catch Sony, as brand loyalty is very high for PlayStation, so in Microsoft’s favour, they now own a considerable amount of high engagement titles which would definitely work towards them being the largest publisher in the industry bar none. Then I would definitely believe Phil Spencer’s chat about wanting to bring more games to gamers. As it is, I only subscribe to GamePass for the release of a game I want to play, Starfield and Forza for instance, but I cancel in between times and play more on PlayStation until the next Xbox exclusive arrives. If there was a Gamepass on PlayStation, I genuinely think I would keep the subscription running longer, as I find it hard to enjoy anything like Forza Horizons on PS4/5, but I don’t really like jumping between consoles all the time. I stay mostly on PlayStation for personal preference, the exclusives and for sure brand loyalty also, but I wouldn’t do without Xbox games, even though my Series X spends a lot of time packed away. I know I’ll have it out for Hellblade 2, but I do hope for the day that I can just click on the Gamepass app on PlayStation 6 and enjoy games from everywhere on the console I prefer to use! 😄
Treyarch are by far my most favourite Call of Duty developers, with all their attempts apart from BLOPS 4 being exceptional (thanks Activision..), so I would likely give this rumoured Gulf War setting a go! I just hope that they are allowed to get back to doing the Single Player aspects as well as they have in the past. I am currently running Black Ops 3 at the moment and I am thoroughly enjoying it. Their Zombies are also awesome, so let’s see how well they put out a package now that Microsoft are in charge! I will play this on PlayStation as usual, but I am really looking forward to seeing how Microsoft handles this series moving forward.
Remember when this came out, multiplayer was an absolute disaster and Epic spent many an update trying to sort it out! It ended up being a really great game though, but man, Seriously 2.0 was a slog fest!
I would really hope to see Dead Space 3 remade to the level of which the producer would have like to have seen, because although I still liked the game, it was too far away from the horror levels generated by 1 & 2! I thought there could have been a feel of John Carpenters ‘The Thing’ about the game, with the ice planet and dormant alien DNA, so I would like to see some ideas implemented in like that. That would be able to generate a good level of Horror for sure! I would also love to see a remake of 3 being a huge success and then a 4th game being commissioned to conclude the story.
I’ll echo the thoughts that this has more of a chance of being a new Monstar Hunter title, perhaps MHW2. I honestly would absolutely love to have seen a new Devil May Cry title, but since Hideaki Itsuno is knee deep in development of Dragons Dogma 2, there is zero chance of that, so I’ll just have to go with the personal dream of a new Bionic commando title which is a direct sequel to Grins title! 😄
I kept the GamePass subscription I activated for StarField going long enough to get onto Forza as soon as it was available, but I genuinely was hugely disappointed with the release. I was so looking forward to this, but it just didn’t hit it off like I was expecting and actually felt boring for the most part. Spend the remainder of my GamePass month playing the Horizon titles, especially 4. Safe to say that Playground have made far more enjoyable driving games than Turn 10 did. Gran Turismo was also far superior and up till now I have always preferred the Forza mainline series… Very disappointed. 🙁
I subbed GamePass just before StarField came out and I let it run out after Forza Motorsports was out. Sadly both games didn’t really hit it off for me, with Forza being particularly disappointing, but after I gave 30 hours of my time to Starfield, I was able to put a lot of time into Forza Horizons 4 and was a brilliant way for me to get the moneys worth for the 2 months I was subbed in total! That game was fantastic! I would also be interested to see if there was a drop off in GamePass numbers after the release of StarField had died down, because there would generally be the case that people paid the £12.99 for a month and then once it’s all done and dusted, cancelled it like I said for myself.
I spend almost all my time gaming on PlayStation, but I always come back to Xbox when a new Forza title comes out as I personally find that the series is unmatched by Gran Turismo, the closest competitor.
Thank f*** for that. I would definitely not want Microsoft anywhere near the ownership of Capcom and that goes for Sony also. I think huge acquisition are the Cancer of the games industry and would far rather see smaller acquisitions and timed exclusives than Billions upon Billions of dollars wort h of publisher purchases. I genuinely think that any company over the value of a couple billion max should not be allowed to be bought by a hardware manufacturer. Keeping as many games in gamers hands should be the goal for everyone. Really really happy Capcom would not be interested!
I bought the OG Xbox so that I could play Jet Set Radio Future, the Xbox One for Dead Rising 3 and I bought the Series X so that I could play Halo Infinite via the Limited Edition console. Although I pretty much exclusively game on PlayStation Consoles, I have the Series X and GamePass so that I can play the Xbox first party exclusives.
Lulu, what have you been smoking? Protects consumers and competition? I see….. Hasn’t selling games on the ‘Entrenched Dominant market leaders’ hardware where Activision has made such a huge amount of money over the years? Sony didn’t have to buy up billions of dollars worth of publishers to get there. If this goes the way that it most likely will, Microsoft will shore up the industry, because let’s face it they won’t stop with the AB deal and then they will be the entrenched market leader, but there won’t be anyone able to pry Microsoft away from that mantle. Gaming is going to be a total disaster in a few years. But at least Xbox has slowly been able to implement their DRM ideology’s into gaming after all, codename GamePass!! 😂
That headline is from a company that sounds like they will be under the Microsoft umbrella in time! 😂 Although GamePass can be very good for gamers, I genuinely prefer to own my games physically and for as long as physical media is available, I won’t subscribe to the GamePass model.
I would wonder if there will be a time that there are Series X Only editions of games. It is evident that Microsoft want the S and X to be able to run the same games, so it definitely holds games back as there really hasn’t been anything this gen that has really pushed the Series X to its breaking point, and we are now into the 3rd year of sales. With all the showings of Unreal Engine 5 and the fact the X can run games programmed using the engine, it would make sense to be able to show what the console can really do without being held back.
Don’t know what Bobby is even making these kinds of statements for, he will be sailing away into the sunset on his Raft made out of money even before the ink dries on the Activision Microsoft contract.
@GeeEssEff I remember at the time that all the Xbox fans said that PlayStation was wasting their money and time signing exclusivity deals for COD. They also said COD was a terrible game. It’s crazy how the tables have turned now.
With those percentages that have been highlighted about the dominance of Sony, has Lulu considered how much money that’s in the Acti/Blizzard bank accounts is because of how many games they have sold on Sony Consoles? Whatever happens with this, she is looking like an absolute idiot.
If or when this deal goes through, the people that are all wishing that Microsoft keep this off of PlayStation are just being spiteful. The whole idea that Microsoft would do that is exactly why everyone is going crazy about this deal and the reason why the authorities are trying to block it in the first place, so if the deal goes through, there will be a 100% guarantee in place that the PlayStation will have COD at least for 10 Years.

I think this would be the logical way forward, similarly to what PlayStation does with the shells, it would just make sense that people could make a console look like a game that they were invested in without going and having to spend full price for a new console (which I did 6 times last gen).
Re: Dragon's Dogma 2 Sets March 2024 Release Date For Xbox Series X|S
Be still my beating heart!!! It looks better and better each time this is shown, 22nd March can’t come soon enough now!! I’ll be checking the import sites over the next few days incase there is a Collectors Edition released in Japan! Now that this is also almost done and dusted, I wonder if Hideaki Itsuno turns his attention to a possible Devil May Cry 6!? 🤞🏻🤞🏻
Re: Reaction: Should We Really Be Surprised By 'Declining' Xbox Console Sales?
Re: Report: Call Of Duty Black Ops To Return With 'Gulf War' Setting In 2024
Treyarch are by far my most favourite Call of Duty developers, with all their attempts apart from BLOPS 4 being exceptional (thanks Activision..), so I would likely give this rumoured Gulf War setting a go!
Re: Talking Point: Xbox's Influential Gears Of War Sequel Is Now 15 Years Old
Remember when this came out, multiplayer was an absolute disaster and Epic spent many an update trying to sort it out! It ended up being a really great game though, but man, Seriously 2.0 was a slog fest!
Re: As Dead Space Hits Xbox Game Pass, Original Producer Says He'd Like To Remake More
I would really hope to see Dead Space 3 remade to the level of which the producer would have like to have seen, because although I still liked the game, it was too far away from the horror levels generated by 1 & 2!
Re: Capcom Has A Major Unannounced Game Releasing Before The End Of March 2024
I’ll echo the thoughts that this has more of a chance of being a new Monstar Hunter title, perhaps MHW2. I honestly would absolutely love to have seen a new Devil May Cry title, but since Hideaki Itsuno is knee deep in development of Dragons Dogma 2, there is zero chance of that, so I’ll just have to go with the personal dream of a new Bionic commando title which is a direct sequel to Grins title! 😄

Re: Forza Motorsport Reportedly Racing Ahead With New Launch Records
I kept the GamePass subscription I activated for StarField going long enough to get onto Forza as soon as it was available, but I genuinely was hugely disappointed with the release. I was so looking forward to this, but it just didn’t hit it off like I was expecting and actually felt boring for the most part. Spend the remainder of my GamePass month playing the Horizon titles, especially 4. Safe to say that Playground have made far more enjoyable driving games than Turn 10 did. Gran Turismo was also far superior and up till now I have always preferred the Forza mainline series… Very disappointed. 🙁
Re: Starfield Launch Set Record For "Most Game Pass Subscriptions Added On A Single Day Ever"

Oh my god….
Re: Talking Point: Is Forza The Best Racing Franchise Of All Time?
I spend almost all my time gaming on PlayStation, but I always come back to Xbox when a new Forza title comes out as I personally find that the series is unmatched by Gran Turismo, the closest competitor.
Re: Capcom Would 'Gracefully Decline' Any Acquisition Attempt From Xbox
Thank f*** for that. I would definitely not want Microsoft anywhere near the ownership of Capcom and that goes for Sony also. I think huge acquisition are the Cancer of the games industry and would far rather see smaller acquisitions and timed exclusives than Billions upon Billions of dollars wort h of publisher purchases. I genuinely think that any company over the value of a couple billion max should not be allowed to be bought by a hardware manufacturer. Keeping as many games in gamers hands should be the goal for everyone. Really really happy Capcom would not be interested!
Re: Talking Point: Have You Ever Bought An Xbox For One Specific Game?
I bought the OG Xbox so that I could play Jet Set Radio Future, the Xbox One for Dead Rising 3 and I bought the Series X so that I could play Halo Infinite via the Limited Edition console. Although I pretty much exclusively game on PlayStation Consoles, I have the Series X and GamePass so that I can play the Xbox first party exclusives.
Re: Xbox Activision Blizzard Deal Officially Approved In Turkey Amidst Ongoing FTC Battle
Re: Football Manager Dev Praises Xbox Game Pass, Announces Major Plans For FM24 & FM25
That headline is from a company that sounds like they will be under the Microsoft umbrella in time! 😂 Although GamePass can be very good for gamers, I genuinely prefer to own my games physically and for as long as physical media is available, I won’t subscribe to the GamePass model.
Re: Xbox's Internal Teams Are No Longer Making Games For Xbox One, Confirms Exec

@Wheatly No worries at all bud!

@Wheatly just ordered it from the Microsoft UK store bud.

Really looking forward to seeing what Forza is like at the showcase!!
Re: Review: Redfall - Arkane's Undead Experiment Brings Mixed Results To Xbox Game Pass

Re: Developer Suggests Xbox Series S May Struggle To 'Keep Up' With AAA Game Demands
I wonder if as time goes on, developers simply skip the Series S. That would be a bit messy for Microsoft surely!?
Re: Activision Won't Allow Sony's 'Disappointing Behaviour' To Impact Long Term Relations
Don’t know what Bobby is even making these kinds of statements for, he will be sailing away into the sunset on his Raft made out of money even before the ink dries on the Activision Microsoft contract.
Re: UK CMA Documents Reveal Six Companies In Favour Of Xbox ActiBlizz Acquisition
@Kaloudz it was a joke. After all the memes and vids about Todd over the years, it was the first person I thought of when I read that statement!
Re: UK CMA Documents Reveal Six Companies In Favour Of Xbox ActiBlizz Acquisition
My guess is that Participant C is Todd Howard!
Re: Microsoft Is Running Full-Page Newspaper Ads About Call Of Duty On Xbox
@GeeEssEff I remember at the time that all the Xbox fans said that PlayStation was wasting their money and time signing exclusivity deals for COD. They also said COD was a terrible game. It’s crazy how the tables have turned now.
Re: Microsoft Defends ActiBlizz Acquisition By Highlighting PlayStation's Dominance Over Xbox
With those percentages that have been highlighted about the dominance of Sony, has Lulu considered how much money that’s in the Acti/Blizzard bank accounts is because of how many games they have sold on Sony Consoles? Whatever happens with this, she is looking like an absolute idiot.
Re: Microsoft And Sony Fail To Make Activision Blizzard Agreement At EU Court Hearing
