This used to be an awesome game, but the amount of messing around with the game, especially combat, has made it extremely painful to play nowadays. Worst update I saw recently was the blunderbuss getting nerfed for all the wrong reasons. The gun is useless now. Should have been left alone. I don’t trust these guys to make any right decision and as the money continues to pile in from the Activision purchase, I feel Rare are cooked.
Best show of the summer so far. Very good. I enjoyed a lot of what was shown and definitely looking forward to a lot of the games. Glad to see Xbox gamers are getting the Final Fantasy games, that should never have been tied to a console exclusive. I ranked it B. Only because I wanted to see another Capcom game shown for the first time!
@bensondog I’m afraid now you are going off topic. The post is about Capcom, which you covered in your first post. Once you had that picked apart, now you are turning it about Microsoft? It’s about Capcoms record profits and if I am not mistaken, there were no redundancies posted by Capcom during this record breaking growth. In fact if you look into it a little, Capcom actually increases the pay grades of their employees when they post profit, and not just CEO levels. They reward the real workers who help them make this profit, the insanely talented programmers and designers that they can thank for the games they make. Lets stay on the topic here and enjoy the fact that an incredible company like Capcom are making ‘obscene’ money and are not taking the greedy approach like Microsoft.
Ok, I personally have no issues in paying a premium price for premium content. Capcom have been delivering the kind of games that I want to play for a long time now, even when they had a dip in quality, I found their games at least worthy on a technical standpoint. Once they realised that they were marketing themselves the wrong way, they sorted themselves out and have been on a huge upward trajectory for the past few years and rightly so. They can post record profits because they have record sales. In this day and age, if a company takes the Micky, people won’t buy their products, so with how their games sell, people HAVE to be happy with both the content and what they are asked to pay.
GamePass is its own best friend and own worst enemy. For sure, loads of people will try a game on a platform like this, but engagement drops way faster for a few reasons. Having so many great games on Gamepass will definitely hinder a majority of gamers who aren’t too fussed about devoting all the time they have to one game at a time. With things like Netflix, this suits casual people way more as films are only 2 hours max. Watch a film, move on. With games being 20+ hours in instances, devoted gamers are only going to be able to get 3 or 4 games a month played, maybe even less, whereas a casual, if the Netflix approach was used, would hammer into a lot more and bounce from title to title. Not knocking any of these approaches at all, it’s everyone’s right to play how they want. I personally don’t subscribe to Gamepass, I have in the past, but I focus on completing one game at a time to 100% and that meant that I was downloading loads of games and focusing on one. I also find that I play more on PlayStation, my friends are all there and with Microsoft moving more and more of their titles to the PlayStation, the way I play my games makes for an easier decision to stay where I am more so nowadays. Again, people can play how they want, but it’s a shame that GamePass sometime doesn’t allow for Xbox gamers especially to focus through and enjoy a game to its fullest.
Forza horizon 6 when it arrives will surely be a day on date release on PlayStation then, awesome! I played a tonne of this on Xbox, definitely preferred 4s setting, that was a brilliant game and is one of the main reasons why I still have an Xbox!
Tell you what Microsoft should focus on, getting stronger boxes when they send their control pads out. I bought the Xbox Doom control pad and I guess Microsoft have made themselves a Trillion Dollar company by saving money on packaging. It came in a terrible state and I wanted to keep it in good nick for collectable purposes..
@CallMeDuraSouka I plan to just keep it in its box, so I won’t know whether it’s faulty or not, but that isn’t too good to hear about! Good luck if you get one! 🤞🏻😀
I just don’t know why Microsoft are considering releasing another console since they are advertising that EVERY devise is an Xbox. It’s more than likely just so that they can tick the box for the Gamepass model, but I just don’t feel like it is going to be a good idea considering everything they are releasing is going to PlayStation in the future and that would make it extremely difficult to justify to users that they need an Xbox Console. I’ve bought every Xbox console up to now, but more and more it just feels like that ship has sailed.
@EvilSilentFrame Yeah, I am also not the biggest fan of multiplayer, but this was just right on so many levels! I’ll miss it for all the great memories too!
@EvilSilentFrame Agree with you on all this! I played it at launch on PlayStation 4 and after I got the Platinum on an older account, I redid the game on my current account, simply because I loved it so much! It was buggy, but everyone had the same bugs to deal with, so it always felt even when I played with friends. We even started to play it every Friday night as a wind down game after a hard week! Loved those sessions so much, always a huge laugh with a full lobby of friends. I wasn’t there at the end, but I will still miss the game loads!!
Usually Sony markets the hell out of their timed exclusives but this was definitely not marketed like something like Ronin. After seeing how the PS5 version strained with how the game ran and given the comments from the CEO of Games Science, I definitely could see why it would be hard to get a game to run as well as was needed on hardware that may not be up to the task!
Just my opinion, but with the way that the Xbox is being marketed into the ground right now, with the PlayStation 5 increasing its market share and the news that everything moving forward from Microsoft is likely to come out of PlayStation consoles, I would think that a new console from Microsoft would be a huge waste of time and money. The more people that buy a PS5, they are going to be invested in a new eco system that would make going back to Microsoft a waste of their money, especially when all the franchises that people care about will be available elsewhere. GamePass in a few years from now could exist with only Microsoft titles, and there are a lot of them, and that could exist on rival consoles simply because of that reason. If Microsoft don’t pay for other companies to put their games on the service than it would not effect Sony having Gamepass on the console in the same way as there is a Netflix app or whatever. It’s just the beginning of the end of Xbox being a thing, but Microsoft will not be effected at all thanks to the games they now have under their umbrella!
I am, as PlayStation gamer, really happy to see this coming to PS5! Although I haven’t played the first game yet, I had planned to do so nearer this releasing. Now I will be able to play them both on the PS5! Gamers win when as many of us are able to play games, but as it stands right now and probably way into the future, there won’t be a reciprocation of PlayStation titles on Xbox. I think that’s a shame, but also with the way Microsoft are doing things now, another generation and people probably won’t need Xbox consoles at all to play Microsoft’s games anyway..
At the moment, almost all my gaming time is going into Sea of Thieves. Although Rare are doing everything in their power to mess the game up, I am still utterly addicted to it as I try to get the 100% Completion on it. I am also mixing in some Alan Wake 2!
Sad to see the reviews being this low, especially considering the development of the game was hindered by catastrophic situations in that part of the world. From a gaming perspective however, I really must ask if Phil Spencer has any gaming clue at all.. he was whittling on about this being a ‘game of the year condendor’. Excuse me? If it’s getting panned like this, what the hell is Phil smoking?
And Phil Spencer claimed that this was a “Game of the Year” contender..😟 Technically, this game needs a serious amount of work. Another 50gig update should do it… damn..
Great to see that Xbox owners are finally able to play this amazing game! It was easily the best game on the PS4 for me, typical Kojima brilliance!! Played it twice and both times was a very refreshing experience! Loved the (crazy) story and can’t wait for the sequel next year. Hopefully that won’t be as far away for Xbox owners. The more people that play kojimas games, the better!!
I personally played this on the PlayStation 5, right after playing God of War Ragnarok, and with that bad boy playing at 60fps, Black Myth looked graphically excellent.. until it started to move. But this ended up being an unfair comparison as the game really was enjoyable as hell and had some really fantastic locations and set pieces! I think once I got used to the game running at half the speeds of Ragnarok, I definitely rated way higher myself than folk on here are, but then I am a huge Hack n Slash/Souls fan. This will run pretty good on the Series X, but the Series S will probably have some issues
If it were to come to Black Ops 6 then it would also be available on PlayStation 5 because of the parity insistence that neither console would benefit over the other and this is something I could not see happen….. yet. Until Microsoft releases a Halo title on Sonys console, it would not make sense for Master Chief to appear just yet.
Im sorry, I just can’t find the positives about this when the only reason the console is in second place is due to the lead format having a drop due to its age, saturation point and an inevitable hold back before the Switch 2 arrives and crushes sales all over again. If it was on its own merits I would have been happy, but year on year sales for the Xbox consoles are down aswell.. Oh man, it’s getting painful now.
What happened to all that “now that we are with Microsoft, our games will ship with far less bugs”. Bethesda are no better than when they were independent. At this rate, I fear for Elder Scrolls 6 (in ten years time).
As far as the numbers go, I would be far more interested to see how many Series S consoles sold in comparison to the X. If it was a lot more, and it probably is, I would wonder if this would not be followed on to another generation as it has certainly given developers a headache trying to get some games to work on the console when all the games that have suffered would have worked in the series x with zero problems by comparison.
I played this yesterday for the first time and I would definitely say that after seeing how demanding this is on the PlayStation 5, because Microsoft demands that there is a parity between their console versions to be able to run and release on the ‘S’, this is probably proving to be an absolute nightmare to get the game running to any kind of standard. Microsoft really shouldn’t have released the downgrade console, I think we would have seen far better graphics this gen by now. Having the inferior S on the market has kept everything held back of late and I would not expect Microsoft to follow the same approach for their next (and probable final) console release, but it is what it is. Also, if Sony had paid for exclusivity, why in earth was the PS5 version not even seen until just before reviews were up? Or marketing? It was none existent compared to Final Fantasy 16 or team ninjas Ronin game. It would be good if someone came out with official confirmations either way, but I personally think the S is causing the issues, nothing more.
@GeorgeKal I am not just a PlayStation gamer, I play on Xbox when I feel like it too, so don’t get your knickers in a twist. I’ll be sure to tag you in the announcement of Starfield on PlayStation when the time comes so that you can eat your words. I don’t like exclusives, I hope everyone gets to play everything, but Microsoft are making the changes, not Sony.
I personally think it’s a good thing. Having games removed from another platform due to timed exclusives, exclusivity deals and buying up entire publishers is not good for anyone. The more people play games, the better!
I’ll come in ‘on topic’ instead, don’t worry! 😂 The game was actually one of my favourite games I played last year when I finally got round to it. Sure it wasn’t as good as Dead Space, I thought of it as a Dead Space 3 title instead and I thought it was pretty brilliant really. I guess crawling through the ducts got a little bit repetitive, but in the end it was a tiny quibble! I would have lived to have seen what the game could have been if there hadn’t been so much crunching at the end, but all in all it deserves as many people to play it as possible and the release on Gamepass is only a good thing!
I am pretty much playing this all my gaming time on PS5 right now, I love it! But I loved it on Xbox too, just all my friends are on PlayStation! So much fun to go into combat on the game. Amazing fun!!
I Personally thought this was a great game. I went in with the feeling that this was more of an unofficial Dead Space 3 and I really enjoyed what the game had to offer. Sure, there are a few parts that can get annoying (crawling through vents), but overall I would have zero issues in recommending this to any of my gamer friends! I bought thison launch, so for it to be on Gamepass, it certainly won’t hurt for more people to give it a go.
Overall I would still say that the first game is my favourite. Its simplicity was the best. I also bought an Xbox One solely to play Dead Rising 3. I liked that game a lot too!
I would like to play Hellblade 2, but with all the comments coming from Satya Nadella coupled with both the rise and Microsoft games selling very well on PlayStation, I think I’ll wait until the inevitable release on PS5 instead of unpacking my Series X again!😁
Hopefully the achievements that aren’t unlockable due to new seasons being released will be sorted and work done again. I would be surprised if there are issues going forward with that considering they will all have to work as trophies now too! Planning to play this on PS5 on release!
With these figures being quite high for this type of game, I wonder if this would be a game that would make it onto other formats in the future also? Because I would assume a large portion of the game was bought by PlayStation gamers given how synonymous the Crash series was with PlayStation at one time, that surely attributes a fair quantity of the sales!
I will be happy to play this when it comes out, I really enjoyed the first game. I definitely think this will have a fair chance of a Game of the Year award, it ticks the right boxes for sure.
I definitely think this should have been done at the beginning of the generation, not mid. I am sure there will be some uptake with people who bought the S being in the better position to need something like this since their Series games are all on digital anyway, but with growing rumours that there will be a majority of Xbox games going over to other formats, this just feel like too little too late in my opinion!
Packed my Series X away after playing Starfield. Although that game wasn’t for me, I am very much looking forward to Sea of thieves and more than likely a few more of the first party offerings that will move over the PlayStation. It’s going to happen considering Sea of Thieves is doing very well as far as pre order numbers are concerned and that will only make up Microsoft’s mind. When a 6 year old game is garnering this kind of interest, I am sure something like Starfield will do very well too.
I would be far, far happier if Microsoft were to just focus on software instead of taking on Nintendo in the Console Handheld market. That is a bloodbath waiting to happen with Switch 2 on the horizon!
@VoidPunk Probably gets the better rating due to the fully patched version of the game along with the DLCs too! Has to be looked at as better for all that I guess.
I bought the game for PS5 but haven’t had the chance to play it yet. All in all, the ideas of Microsoft releasing games on PlayStation is definitely looking like it’s paying off! Definitely more to come for sure!

Re: Talking Point: Will Hellblade 2 Be A Genuine Game Of The Year Contender This Year?
I will be happy to play this when it comes out, I really enjoyed the first game. I definitely think this will have a fair chance of a Game of the Year award, it ticks the right boxes for sure.
Re: Random: Xbox Two-Game Bundle Priced At Ridiculous $2000 On Microsoft Store
I guess Microsoft need to make back some money since most xbox gamers don’t buy games anymore, just use Gamepass! 😅
Re: Phil Spencer Celebrates 10 Years As Head Of Xbox This Weekend
Yep, and by the 11th year he will have successfully made Xbox a 3rd party publisher. Not quite the best of legacies..
Re: Leaked Images Reveal 'First Look' At White, All-Digital Xbox Series X
I definitely think this should have been done at the beginning of the generation, not mid. I am sure there will be some uptake with people who bought the S being in the better position to need something like this since their Series games are all on digital anyway, but with growing rumours that there will be a majority of Xbox games going over to other formats, this just feel like too little too late in my opinion!
Re: Phil Spencer On Porting Exclusives: 'Every Decision We Make Is To Make Xbox Stronger'
Re: Xbox Boss On Handheld Rumours: Hardware Team Considering Different 'Form Factors'
I would be far, far happier if Microsoft were to just focus on software instead of taking on Nintendo in the Console Handheld market. That is a bloodbath waiting to happen with Switch 2 on the horizon!
Re: Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League 'Season 1' Welcomes The Joker To The Funhouse
Welcome to the funhouse? I’ll see myself out.
Re: Hi-Fi RUSH Is One Of PS5's Best-Rated Games Of 2024 So Far
@VoidPunk Probably gets the better rating due to the fully patched version of the game along with the DLCs too! Has to be looked at as better for all that I guess.
I bought the game for PS5 but haven’t had the chance to play it yet. All in all, the ideas of Microsoft releasing games on PlayStation is definitely looking like it’s paying off! Definitely more to come for sure!
Re: Xbox Is Giving Away One Of The Most Beautiful Series X Consoles Ever
I would definitely be happy to own this. Would look awesome in my GamesRoom!! 😄
