Looking forward to it, decided to just buy this one as well its actually priced reasonably and I want to hang on to it for when it eventually leaves GP. Watching some reviews on youtube and it seems really good, bit of Stellar Blade, bit of Bloodborne and a bit of Dark souls 1 all mashed up in a nice looking package. Will enjoy slowly working my way through the game even with some of the difficulty spikes I have heard about...
These are fun games, I don't like the term podcast game but these are the perfect games to just work on while listening to something in the background. One of the few of the simslop games that is actually pretty decent and well enough made.
Game pass can't exist with other models, the other models being what exactly? $80 dollar minimum digital games with rumors they could hit $100 base price with GTA. Gee I wonder if the other model will do better in the long run either.
I pre-ordered it, I didn;t want to try running on my steam deck as it doesn't run super well in the harder levels, more than happy to drop in on a Xbox version
I like my series X and given that with a decent PC or steam deck I can play the PS games I am not buying a PS5 ever I'm tied to the Xbox eco-system, the idea that dedicated hardware will still be important after this next generation is still very much up in the air, if you ask the majority of people who play games and the reality is that is the people that play fortnight or COD they really don't care about the box its on at the end of the day.
Most are just stuck in the eco system they invested in but the minute that become untethered and there's a cheaper hardware option they will take that. Even more so if they just move between devices as needed to keep the play session going.
I mean look at the sales data, 90% of the time the top played/selling games are not the console exclusives. If Xbox can pull this off they will have a massive 'platform war' lead going into the next decade, they already do somewhat now.
So we could be looking at a box that has all my Xbox library (3rd party included) the EA access stuff and then adding to that steam epic and maybe GOG. Thats pretty interesting, cheap steam sales for 3rd party plus PS pc ports, gamepass for xbox 1st party sounds nice and I guess Epic can just stand there in the back.
I would probably get that day one if thats what was on offer.
From what I understand this data is based off the number of reviews on the Xbox console store which seems like a terrible metric to use to guess at the number or sales. Most people don't spend the time to review games, I bought it when it shadow dropped and haven't reviewed. Why would I review when I haven't finished it yet its a long RPG. How many reviews did it get in the PS Store? and what would that extrapolate to?
I am super interested, I like being able to get my Xbox library and also a much easier way to just have my Steam (including PlayStation games) and GOG library properly integrated together. The X version is probably at least as powerful as a decent gaming laptop so that's pretty decent if you stick it in a dock and play on TV etc.
At the moment I have a OLED Steam deck I stuck a 2TB SSD in so if I factor the price for the deck and the SSD I guess that was about 600 altogether maybe so if they are past that and pushing 700 to 800 that's going to be hard sell even with this being decently more powerful. Will have to wait and see.
Curious to see what they do with the version 3, my elite 2 only had a bumper issue and I was able to open that and just clean them with some Isopropyl alcohol. Right to repair etc I guess. Still the amount of failures the elite 2 had I can totally understand being very wary of a 3rd iteration.
I love that this was such non news that the comments just turned into some of the community chatting about what they were playing currently. Kinda wholesome hah
@Kaloudz I too would love FF7 remake for GP though I would double dip even after playing it on steam deck. I got rebirth on sale too and enjoying that on deck currently but would like getting xbox achievements and full tv screen go of both of them. And Stellar Blade too, waiting for the xbox presentation before getting it for steam deck just in case.
IXION is coming to consoles??? they announced it back in July 2024 which I forgot about I picked this up cheap on steam to wrangle with on my steam deck but will double dip on Xbox (hopefully they also patch the controller support into the steam version).
Diablo 3 is worth a play too, in some respects I like it better than 4 especially after all the updates and the expansions add stuff to it, decent story too
I kinda liked the Sims but fell off those games, this does seem very interesting in the way it just has much more open ended gameplay. If a review doesn't totally convert me then probably on a sale
I think that they did make mouse and key board update or at least access working for a load of games a while back didn't they? I haven't tried connecting any via USB but that would make the strategy games better to play.
I am not super sure I would get this over a cheap mini keyboard but maybe further info will sell me on it, having a dedicated xbox keyboard might be nice.
Didn't realize Mullet Madjack is coming to xbox, don't let the name put you off it is a really good fps rogue like game with a great 80s/90s anime aesthetic. Been playing it on steam and enjoying it.
Its a fantastic game, full of love for the IP and well I already owned it from when it came out and started another playthough when the DLC came out.
Is a little janky on controller when trying to move pathing wise and also properly react to traps in the environment. Feels like they are patching it up though.
@ParsnipHero Oh yeah, forgot about them but yes that would be great as well.
There is a few games I would like to finally show up on Xbox, if I wasn't collecting them physical on switch the 'The legend of Heroes' games would be welcome. Mostly its seems to be any of the RPGS that skipped Xbox but were on PS and Switch for me.
I just hoping for maybe a FF16 announcement, i know that there has been reports that FF7 remake is not happening yet but a tease about that would be cool. Other than than more games from Japan etc would be more than welcome. Starting to build a JRPG back log.
If they do a steamdeck equivalent handheld with gamepass running native and (pipedream here) steam also running just as easily I will get that no problem. That would probably be in place of a next console for me if it has a decent dock to TV like the steamdeck.
Carrying your high end games with you is something that is just very handy. I've been playing Ace Combat 6 and forza horizon 4 handheld on steamdeck recently, great experience and sold me on a xbox handheld if it happens.
I think private PvE lobbies will be a great addition, me and a friend ended up with a bot for the 3rd marine and it was fine for the lower difficulty. Mostly now I am waiting to see what they add in way of new operations and well story dlc (which I assume is a good bit down the road).
Really want to try Star Trucker, from the gameplay and trailers it looks interesting. Always up for more strategy games so hopefully they are not just PC only.
Was interested in this but they extra layer that this world just has people that holiday as dungeon divers already makes this much more interesting. A world were dungeons and monsters are just part of how things are next to 'modern world' is an angle you don't see to often.
while I would have hoped for a better score as I really liked Ashen and they did a great job there I am going to give this a go since its on gamepass. I think I'll finish it too, maybe it will be like Immortals of Aveium and I will find myself enjoying more than the scores imply.
Given that its also being removed from Gamepass I decided to grab the 8.50 discount as FH4 is my favorite of the series and for that price and all the DLC it was worth it at least for me. Annoying that this delisting is happening but I guess they can only do so much with having to deal with car manufacturers.
I've been enjoying it, not going to pretend the mtx are not pretty bad I wanted a destiny/warframe a like I could dip into for the podcast grind and it fits the bill perfectly. Also interested in the story too even it might be a bit cliche.
There's also plenty of 'culture' to get behind that Xbox doesn't often get so I'll take what I can get.
Decided to grab Atlas Fallen, 40% is a decent enough sale and I liked the look of the combat and world but not enough for full price. Will keep an eye out for the rest of the sale when it launches
@BacklogBrad Yeah I have been wondering that too especially given that it already there to download since its purchasable. seems weird still its not like I missing out on time I paid for with it on gp.
I wonder what the concurrent numbers are on console? I can feel for the grunt level developers working on this and knowing those numbers (and seeing the steam numbers) and wondering what are they even doing while working on updates and the next season while silently cursing the execs that got them there.
Have these on switch but I will happyliy double dip, Grandia 2 is one of my favorite RPG's ever. Love the attack animations in that game for the special moves.
I really liked Immortals, they did a demo and a sale last year and I bought after 5 mins in the demo, the world is interesting and the combat pretty fun as you unlocked more spell types. Not amazing and that crowed release time certainly made me wait but I am glad I gave it a shot
Some games just keeping for a lot longer than you would think. I remember this running kinda bad when it came out and I never went back but I guess there was some sort of decent population keeping it going.
I will as soon as its out, Backlog be dammed haha. I hope it controls and runs well on series X though. Might just wait for a review to confirm that. Looked like it controlled grand on Playstation 5
@Markatron84 Haven't had a chance to play it yet, Truck simulator was great when I tried it on steam, will report back after I try it though. They are podcast games for me, throw on something in the background and just work on a delivery or working on a goal. Though I think on PC you can mod in radio stations for Truck simulator.
Ok this sounds pretty good, I just grabbed Bus Simulator as it was on sale in the simulator sale. What I would really like would be Euro Truck Simulator or the American version, feel like I would play it more on console vs PC
