Re: Is Stray Coming To Xbox? Here's Everything We Know So Far

shamirqushairi

@NEStalgia Ah yes, the Play of Ustation with hits like The Last of Us on racetracks, The Last of Us DualSense showcase, The Last of Us with a magic brush, The Last of Us the game engine, your friendly neighbourhood The Last of Us, The Last of Us: A Big Adventure, The Last of Us with wacky space weapons & The Last of Us Part 1. 😂

Re: Sony Boss Tells PlayStation Owners To 'Expect More Acquisitions'

shamirqushairi

@NeoRatt Nintendo was a newcomer after the North American video game crash of 1983, Sony wasn't a gaming company when they wanted to push CDs as the new medium & the OG Xbox was a reactionary move to counter the dominance of the PS2.

Why just let these 3 companies control the gaming market? You never know what a newcomer, no matter how big or small they are, might bring onto the market.

Re: Don Mattrick Discusses The Failures Of The 2013 Xbox One Launch

shamirqushairi

@NEStalgia I'm pretty sure both the PS3 & Xbox One were equally disastrous at their respective launches. However unlike the Xbox One, the PS3 was able to catch up with the competition & finally edging them out at the very end but it wasn't solely because of the PS3 Super Slim model, they simply had killer exclusives. It also didn't help that Microsoft was pushing hard on Kinect by the time Sony was rebranding the PS3.

The Xbox One never had a chance of catching up, not even coming close to the PS4. It was baffling to see Microsoft leaving their first/second party output at the state they're in throughout the 8th gen. Without those multi billion dollar acquisitions, Game Pass or no, they still would be struggling. And you can even witness the problems of the One seeping well into the Series consoles albeit slowly fading away.

Re: Best GTA Xbox Games: Our Picks For The Top Grand Theft Auto Titles

shamirqushairi

Skipped the first 3, too young to remember Vice City 😆, spent countless of my miserable childhood hours in San Andreas, skipped 4, played 5.

San Andreas is definitely my favourite, probably due to nostalgia but I'm glad to revisit the classics soon.

Come to think of it, funny how the GTA franchise is everyone's childhood memory despite having adult content. 🤣

Re: Watch Dogs: Legion's Latest Patch Is 40GB On Xbox Series X, 3GB On PS5

shamirqushairi

@PhhhCough Haha don't worry, I did not feel attacked in any way. The narrative surrounding this title paints it as a mediocre or meh game when in actuality it is not. It is a good game but Ubisoft needs more work before making this franchise a masterpiece. It even got me emotional at the end which isn't something I expected out of the Watch Dogs franchise.

Re: Xbox Game Studios' Deathloop Becomes One Of The Highest Reviewed PS5 Games Of 2021

shamirqushairi

@LtSarge I actually prefer Sony's approach towards marketing their first/second party stuff despite desperately wanting for more but if they have nothing to show for, they should have keep their events short but sweet instead of it being long & repetitive. At the end of the day, I'm glad the game is positively received by many despite the constant marketing & didn't suffer the same fate as Cyberpunk did which is another title I got sick of hearing about constantly back then.

Re: Xbox Game Studios' Deathloop Becomes One Of The Highest Reviewed PS5 Games Of 2021

shamirqushairi

@LtSarge Of course I don't know you well because that's why I said "I think" and how is loving the Xbox platform calling them out? 😄 I love PlayStation (despite of their shortcomings recently) but I still love seeing what others are doing too. I know sometimes the gaming community can be toxic but I'm always against that. I'm also aware of the over marketing narrative as I stated in my previous comment.

Although I agree with you that Sony isn't forcing people to watch their marketing, as I mentioned in my previous comment, it's just what they constantly see when they tune in to Sony's live State of Plays & PlayStation showcase instead of things they haven't seen yet (still waiting for another gameplay trailer for HFW Sony!) & with Sony keeping their cards very close to their chest recently unlike Microsoft, it's honestly frustrating.

Re: Xbox Game Studios' Deathloop Becomes One Of The Highest Reviewed PS5 Games Of 2021

shamirqushairi

@LtSarge I think you feel that way because of your love towards the Xbox platform mate. Some in the PlayStation community just wants to see more of the things they haven't seen yet especially from Sony's first/second party studios but them being all secretive these days it's just frustrating seeing Sony showing Deathloop multiple times just to fill the gap (or simply because they're legally obliged to promote them as part of the exclusivity deal). Horizon Forbidden West is out on Feb 22 but I only got one gameplay trailer & that's it?! I also got bored when Cyberpunk did the same & some are genuinely skeptical when games get overmarketed and/or overhyped.

There's genuinely people who are excited for this on PlayStation & Deathloop getting all these positive reviews will surely drive up sales for it. I'll probably get one somewhere down the line.

Re: Phil Spencer Suggests Nintendo & PlayStation 'Don't Want' To Support Xbox Game Pass

shamirqushairi

@PullnPray If what you say is true, then why did Phil even bring up the idea of opening Game Pass to others to begin with? Of course they've thought about it already & if they manage to bring Game Pass to other ecosystem, they'll most likely strike a deal with Sony/Nintendo to make sure they don't make sudden U-turns. But the plan didn't pan out was not because Microsoft figured they didn't want to, it's because both Sony & Nintendo won't allow an Xbox service on their console which will eat into their profits.

Re: Phil Spencer Suggests Nintendo & PlayStation 'Don't Want' To Support Xbox Game Pass

shamirqushairi

@PullnPray Okay let me rephrase it. Sales figures aren't a priority for Microsoft anymore, it's just a gateway to Game Pass. The reason they were playing chicken with Sony was because they weren't gonna lose on price like they did at launch with the One. Also, they bothered releasing the Series S was because they wanted the cost of entry to the ecosystem as affordable as possible for a home console & being a digital only one at that means that players are even more reliant on Game Pass.

If consoles sales figures were a priority, programmes like xCloud, Play Anywhere & GamePass for PC won't exist.

Re: Phil Spencer Suggests Nintendo & PlayStation 'Don't Want' To Support Xbox Game Pass

shamirqushairi

@PullnPray Well they actually do lose money because the less time spent on your services & ecosystem, the less money you will be spending on it too. And as soon as the players realise that they can just ditch the middle man & switch, they just lost a customer which is bad for business. That's why Sony is reluctant on releasing a web browser for the PS5 (they probably never would).

Re: Phil Spencer Suggests Nintendo & PlayStation 'Don't Want' To Support Xbox Game Pass

shamirqushairi

@PullnPray Microsoft does not care about the Series X & S sales figure (I think they made it pretty clear) as they are focused on getting more people to subscribe to Game Pass & retain existing ones. Also, if Sony or Nintendo allows Game Pass on their platforms (which they won't), I'm confident that Microsoft will most likely allow players to download alongside stream them as the infrastructure may not be able to handle the sudden surge in traffic by opening the floodgates from other gaming platforms.

Re: MLB The Show 21's Xbox Release Appears To Have Been A Major Success For Sony

shamirqushairi

@MaccaMUFC I can't tell if you're joking or not 😆 but what he said does make sense. Game Pass is sustainable for Microsoft because they can rely on other highly profitable revenue streams unlike PlayStation. Even if PlayStation comes up with a Game Pass competitor, it's unlikely to reach the value offered by Game Pass.

Of course it doesn't make sense for them to publish games day one on their own subscription model, but not if it's for Game Pass 😉.

Re: Bethesda's Deathloop Will Be A Timed Exclusive On PS5 Until September 2022

shamirqushairi

@Doctorwhoooourgh Haha mate, I'm not here to defend Sony. Microsoft deserves credit & my respect for their pro-consumer policies & overall better console/services compared to Sony's. I was just pointing out the disappointment from players left out from the ZeniMax deal is legitimate.

I don't get why people need to pick sides & support/defend your platform of choice no matter what. I love PlayStation but I still can be critical of them for their mistakes & the same for Microsoft even with their pro-consumer policies. That's why I also get called out on PushSquare too.

But as to whom the anger should be directed at, as pointed out by @LtSarge, it's up for debate.

Re: Bethesda's Deathloop Will Be A Timed Exclusive On PS5 Until September 2022

shamirqushairi

@Doctorwhoooourgh No matter how you try to spin it, millions of players are no longer able to play them on their platform of choice, indefinitely. It does not affect you because you're on the right platform but it does to others.

If Sony decided to purchase Rockstar, I cannot blame millions of angry Xbox players who suddenly finds themselves no longer able to play their favourites on Xbox consoles.

Like I said, the anger is justified.
