I am still so ANGRY about this game. I’m a 55 year old gamer and have never felt so ripped off as I did here. They committed fraud,

They knew the game was a disgrace but they wanted to get development costs back so they charged us for it.

And why isn’t there any quality control on behalf of Microsoft? Did they not test the game?

This was literally the most bugged mess I have ever paid money for. And Microsoft refused a refund on the ground that I’d opened the game,

Well, I mentioned in another thread that I wasn’t sure that I owned the 360 version or not. I remember playing it at some point and really enjoying it but never finishing it.

Just booted up my Xbox series x and got a pop up - you have a new offer hold the guide button to redeeem now. I did and……yes. It was the free upgrade. Downloading it now and gonna try and play through to completion this time.

So if I don’t own the 360 version (I dunno if I do or not) then I can pay £24.99 and own the new version?

If I’ve never played and don’t own can I buy the digital Xbox 360,version cheap and get the upgrade?

@Bears-Wear-Hats yeah like that is going to work. I requested a refund for wreckreation on the grounds that it was a completely unplayable, buggy mess - the first time I’d ever requested a refund and they refused it on the grounds that I’d played it.

So they’re never going to allow this.

Where I live in Dubai, cloud gaming doesn’t exist.

I had gamespass ultimate but honestly I don’t know why. I played fifa online and other than that probably only played forza horizon. However, I kept it as I played more fifa online than anything else.

However, this year’s fifa absolutely SUCKS and is like pinball online.

So I haven’t even bought it and at the moment I’m seriously considering cancelling.

I remember when the original GoW came out. I ran a pretty successful Xbox site - we had been the only site to offer MP on COD2 before Microsoft had online gaming.

I used to have all the ideas and the direction but I wasn’t a coder so I had a guy who worked on the site with me and one other equal share.

One of my coders was the guy who enabled the online for COD2 using a high powered NTL cable connection. Still very new at that time.

Unfortunately, he had met someone from Epic Games, and they decided to use him to promote the new game before anyone knew what it was (or at least, thats what he told us). The red skull logo (before anyone knew what it was) started appearing all over our site - stories were disappearing to be replaced by gibberish and this logo.

He made it look very cool - but he wasn’t allowed to tell any of his co-owners. We spent ages trying to figure it out and were not happy when we found out.

That was the end of the site.

The N64 (and GBA) SBK games were superb! I recently replayed the first one to completion and the second one is up soon. This looks really good !

I was playing yesterday and I wasn’t even aware I was streaming the game. I assumed it was local.

Hang on. Is Rockband backwards compatible? Can it still be purchases and played?

There is literally not one reason to keep my Xbox series X now. I bought Xbox for the exclusives but all the exclusives I want are on PS and PS has exclusives that Xbox doesn’t.

I’m heading down to the mall to buy a PlayStation tomorrow.

What is WRONG with you people?

My main beef with this is as follows.

PureXbox have an extensive preview of the game. During said preview they go out of their way to say that they have concerns that the game will turn out exactly as they say it is in the review.

But then during said preview they go out of their way to say that all those fears were allayed during the preview.

They then went on to praise a level highly - and then they trash the same level on this review and literally contradict EVERYTHING they said in the preview. So why have the preview?

Every single year for the last three years something has happened to the old game around six weeks before the release of the new one to make it unplayable online.

This year you started playing with one player off the pitch so with ten men and then at half time sometimes your goalkeeper disappeared.

Every year I say “That’s it, no more!” And every year I fall for it and buy the new version.

However, this year a few weeks ago for the first time since the original 360 I’ve let my monthly Xbox subscription lapse in protest against the number of games that require online and then release in simply an unfinished state or get accidentally / deliberately knackered by the publisher just before the new version comes out.

Maybe I’m tilting at windmills and I’ll probably give in on September 20th.

And I know Microsoft doesn’t give a ***** whether I renew or not.

You know I was thinking today - EA sports FC 24 is now completely broken as well.

I have a retro set up - 18TB of games of a hard drive playing through my TV. My Xbox series X and my switch are literally just gathering dust.

It depresses the hell out of me that booting up a SNES game or a 360 game through my emulation setup is much more fun than any of these always online never working monstrosities we have today. I spent £90 on that tennis game for it to not work as well.

Modern gaming is fundamentally dead.

This is even ***** worse. I haven’t been able to play yet. Every time I go into the hub the menus scroll up and down on their own (official Xbox controller)

When I eventually (after 15 minutes of wanting to smash my TV) managed to stop it scrolling on the right tile, I managed to initiate the install.

Came back this morning and it’s installed. Menu still jumping around all over the place. Managed to hit A to launch at just the right time, when it landed on the right tile……..and it crashed back to the dashboard.

THIS IS COMPLETELY ***** INSANE

@Rodimusprime13 not actually true. Both series were developed by Paramount but then they cancelled it after series two had been shown (development was still in post on season 2).

Netflix bought the rights to show it but development was all paid for under paramount’s watch.

Here in Dubai our major games shop (Geekay) removed all Xbox heading and displays from their stores and now only have Sony and Nintendo displays.

When I went in there the other day for a controller they had to go out back to the stockroom to get the colour options they had in stock as they had none on display.

I was quite concerned at that point.

I would SERIOUSLY advise buying this game. I paid 120 dollars on the top tier addition 24 hours ago and haven’t been able to play it. It just says I”m not online and when you’re not online all you can do is exhibitions against other players locally.

Not even an exhibition against the computer.

Every other games work online and off.

I plan to get a refund today, is there a process for that?

Emulation even up to 360 and PS3 is pretty damned good.

I’d love to play through COD 2 again. I used to own and run an Xbox leagues site back in the day which became popular and we even had a tech wizz who could make a multiplayer server before such things were active. He used some kind of NTL connection and we even came to the attention of Infinity Ward. Those were the days.

And which was the one with the infamous airport scene? I think that was IV Modern warfare? That’s the other one I’d play again…..

Because this article is completely untrue, it SAYS the trial is available. But it isn’t.

@somnambulance surely the point of using the word “franchise” means you have to take every game available as part of that series. In that case, much as I love Mario kart - it really has stuck to the same genre.

Mario Kart and Forza probably have the best ratio of quality across every title. I love Burnout but I felt Paradise and Crash didn’t work.

Mario Kart as I have said hasn’t diversified although every game is great, and Ridge Racer is in that same category.

Road Rash? Interesting. Great games, but again didn’t diversify,

So I think for the very nature of having horizon and mainline, Forza is probably the best.

Diddy Komg racing is one of my favourites, but one game doesn’t make a franchise. Needs to come back though.

Speedstorm is excellent although how it will work as a FTP title remains to be seen. How much will seasons be for example? The first three were free for me as an early access player but how much they will cost going forward I wonder.

As an absolute FH nut I have to say - Motorfest is incredible so far.

You keep saying about the free trial but how do we access it?

Also will the game be available on ubisoft+ does anyone know?

Their “available content” page gives an “unavailable” error. Hardly encouraging.

How do I do the Motorfest trial? Do I just download the game? Is it restricted to a few hours? Or is it unlimited? It would be nice to have some information rather than just “there’s a trial”

Obviously MK8D is the King but I’ve been playing that for so long now that it’s pretty much dead to me even with the current DLC.

Transformed could be argued is the pinnacle. That game was fantastic, up there with Diddy King Racing.

Disney Speedstorm is REALLY good too.

The thing is although I haven’t seen my own two little girls for three years thanks to my wife, I know that they would adore Disney Speedstorm and frankly would adore this Dreamworks game too. To the person who asked how iconic these films are - they are bigger than you think. Where I live in Dubai there is a huge theme park devoted to Dreamworks films. How to Train Your dragon is a huge franchise. My kids love it and there is a massive amount of merrchandise. There is a live action remake coming too - like the Disney ones.

I will certainly pick this up even for myself.

I'm 53 years old, been gaming since the NES. Read the headline - and thought : yeah, right.

Then I watched it.

It is astonishing for sure but I suspect it's only a tech demo. I can't see it getting released.

Plus I couldn't even watch more than a minute and a half. I felt so ill. Same as I did when trying VR. I'm too old I think

I eventually shut down the game and then completely shut down the console, restarted everything and it worked.

There has to be a better way.

So what is going on with this? Game is updated, really event appears on the map but everything I try to start it says it’s not installed, even though it is. It then tries to reinstall, says it’s installed and endless loop.

We need a rally sim and a rally arcade IMHO. SEGA rally / dirt for arcade and WRC for sim.

Bought the elite series 2 six weeks ago, and a week after purchase the a button packed up.

I live in the UAE so I haven’t even attempted to return it. Hardly “reliable”

I’m very tempted but might wait for it to turn up on gamespass.

I am so disillusioned with Microsoft right now.

I travel around the world with my console. A few months ago Microsoft quietly (or at least I wasn't aware) stopped you buying from other countries stores, and using gift cards from other countries.

The end result is that not only have I had to set the console to the region I live in (or otherwise I can't use games pass). This means I can no longer play games I've purchased from other regions, and I also cannot play games like GTA V remastered which is banned where I live.

Yet my friend next door with a PS5 has been able to keep his console to UK, is able to still play all his games, and has been able to buy and play GTA V remastered.

I’ve found out why I can’t see it. It’s not available where I live. The original is but not the remaster
