Talking Point: Will You Be Revisiting Red Dead Redemption On Xbox Next Week?

Will this game be separate from the 360 version with its own achievements?

Nah, bored me to tears the only time I've played it.

I have actual new games I would rather play instead.

Not that I think RDR is bad its just that a fresh coat of paint / more fps isn't that exciting to me. I am sure I will get round to a play through eventually but see no real reason to rush to play it.

If it has a new list of achievements, yes; if not, no.

I own the 360 version as I got it cheap on the store ages ago and never played it. Maybe this new version will finally get me to give it a whirl.

If I really want to play it I'll play on Netflix I suppose I would love to play it again but I'm not going to be paying whatever they are going to charge for such an old game!
Plus I'm planning on playing Red dead 2 again in the new year but I'll definitely pick this up at some point in the future on sale!

Was never a fan. Red Dead Revolver was great for us time, but the Redemption games never held my attention. I tried to pay both and gave up within a couple hours.

I actually revisited RDR earlier this year and was surprised at how well the game looked on my Series X. The 4K upscaling is REALLY good, the only thing that bugged me was the 30fps lock but after a while you get used to it.

Now that there's a native Xbox Series version, I'm going to have to play it! The 4K resolution with full HDR support combined with 60fps means this classic is going to shine like never before and I can't wait to play it!

All that being said, I am absolutely DESPERATE for a RDR2 upgrade for Xbox Series X|S! I own RDR2 on PlayStation and Xbox & the Xbox version is the best console version of the game. Playing RDR2 on PS5 means it's running the PS4 pro version via backwards compatibility & it's got completely BROKEN HDR, the game is so dark and no matter what you change your TV settings too it just doesn't look good, also the upscaled 4K on the PS4 pro version adds this weird foggy like blur to the image, I don't know how to explain it but yeah.

RDR2 on Xbox Series X reverts to the Xbox One X version of the game & it actually looks good thanks to native 4K resolution combined with full HDR support that makes the game look as good as possible on console. HOWEVER, the 30fps is the one thing that makes the game not look as good as it possibly could (it's still one of the best looking games ever made).

I truly believe if we get a current generation upgrade for RDR2 with updated textures, native 4K resolution combined with 60fps, RDR2 will easily become one of the BEST looking games on current generation consoles. We know Rockstar was working on a current generation upgrade for RDR2 but "paused" development in order to "get all hands on deck for GTA 6". I'm hoping that while we're waiting for GTA 6 we get a RDR2 upgrade because that'd literally hold me over for quite some time lol (there's so much hidden things to do in RDR2 it still surprises me to this day).

Is it a free upgrade only until the release of the new version? I'm not complaining; I didn't expect this from Rockstar, but I want to know what (original or remake) and when to buy. I read that the Series version is better than the PS version and that this is the first free third-party upgrade for a backwards compatible Xbox 360 purchase. Rockstar giving us a treat, finally. There are also a lot of rumours about a Red Dead Redemption II upgrade!

Not a chance in the world! Just give us 60fps already on rdr2 .

I'd be more hyped to play a current gen version of Red dead 2 than GTA 6 everyday of the week!

Why would I? It won't look any different than the Gears of War update in my opinion. I can never tell the difference. And I never really was into the RDR games. I tried both, but not for me.
