@Master_Cthulhu70 I’d say bud, try the Xbox ally. It may seem crazy but the streaming on it from the Xbox is AMAZIN. The reason I didn’t get the X is because I didn’t want to spend the money on a device that I didn’t play as much or knew how much I would play. Besides the occasional hiccup I play Overwatch on it pretty swell. I can’t download that through Xbox store for some odd reason. I got dispatched, and replaced demo. Played Tekken 8 from console and the main native game I run is FF7 Remake and it’s gorgeous. Might pony up and get Spider-Man 2. I spent 480 on the thing and now it’s my buddy.

I’m getting it, guess I’m in the niche crowd lol. But forreal I believe in the brand and I game with a smile on my face. My digitals are here, like the controller, my day one series x looks brand new my Xbox ally is wonderful to hold. It would be hard to go back to PS offerings. Haven’t missed playing GoW or ghost of Tsushima

I like the idea personally, I got a series x and just bought the Xbox rog ally, played cod 7 on cloud on the ally and it ran beautifully. Got GPU btw. Switched over to playing dispatch by holding down the Xbox button “since it’s not an Xbox” enjoyed that, then streamed black myth wukong almost flawlessly. Meanwhile few friends of mine using PS portal in their walled garden. Everything is an Xbox works for me, eco system is good, games everywhere. I’m 40 years old with a wife and kids I need play anywhere and choice.

I like the Xbox platform (getting the rog ally x) and even though I had this on ps4 I’ll double dip for the play anywhere along side rebirth

@Master_Cthulhu70 I mean, myself and a few other of my homies are interested in the PC handheld. We around 40 years old been gaming awhile we have families now and sitting in the man cave all day is bad optics. Now I’m prolly the only one interested in the Ally Xbox x, few others like steam deck and the grand is jarring but I would counter, the overall time invested in this thing would be the benefit for me. Sticker shock is the problem and if they were smart I would have set it up where folks can by one like they buy phones .

Might just get the regular Xbox ally (white) I want a handheld for the bedroom and sofa I’m to old to be going around to family and friends playing games when I drove my car to go see them lol. Maybe flights and holiday gatherings would be different

I mean hate Microsoft has to be the bearer of bad news with increase of price per console and GP but I believe by the time GTA 6 comes out we are going to see the standard switch fully to $80 dollar games possibly another increase in PS+ then all this adjustment at Microsoft will make since

Sony saw how much Microsoft made on forza and was like “maaaaaaaaaaaan, release the ragnorok” lol forreal tho console sales is one thing but that’s a one and done purchase. Live service and software are what’s makes the most and per Sony game attach rate folks are not buying first party like they used to.

Kind of makes you rethink the “gamepass hurts the industry “ narrative.

@Trmn8r I’m guilty of buying 8.99 pumas on rematch. I kind of don’t think it’s the death of gaming. As a matter of fact if every major studio had a sub game or gaas it could help finance future games. FF14 is an example

Been gaming since 89, and I will say IT SUCKS to up and lose a job and I’m hoping to all affected they find work immediately. But with current trends in market it’s hard to sustain with massive sales. I think about assassins creed shadows (good game) and the general consensus was everyone wanted that game to fail. Folks get fired for that or you want gamepass to fail (revolving revenue). You want physical media in a more or less digital world which would require jobs to manage that. But if the info shows more digital sales than physical then they scale back on that to save money regardless of them being a 3 trillion dollar company. It suck overall

Yea it takes skill to pass but I guess that’s what free play is for and training. I sometimes see the selfish players but when they are better than me go right ahead lol

I bought it even though I originally borrowed my friends PS5 to beat it. I’m currently enjoying it. I understand the lower sales with it being criticized poorly when it released initially. But I enjoyed it enough to buy it for my ecosystem. It’s not X or XV, VII, VIII but nonetheless it’s a serviceable entry with a good story. Game should have released day and date with PlayStation. Square much like other developers/publishers are figuring out the exclusivity window thing Sony does is not always the best plan. Guess you can say the same about GP but had this game been on GP with 25 for DLC it would have generated a lot more buzz and sales

Whatever Microsoft does I’m down for it. Innovation is key and developer relationship is vital. Ease of use to develop games using current technologies. (Tired of seeing studio closures) whatever it is keep that quick resume.

Man listen, I get excited to hear what the future of gaming is gonna be like just like I got excited about the Xbox ally X(def getting one) I do believe it’s a tad to soon but hey it’s exciting. I mean I’m playing FF16 using play anywhere. That’s cool to me

I don’t think every game needs to cost 80 dollars but I’m not really upset with the increase on select games. Every shirt/shoe/house/ don’t cost the same. And not every game does the same thing. Claire 33 cost 50

I’ve been gaming since 89 and was a sega head. I had Nintendo also but had love for sega a tad more. I’ve seen the 32x and the jaguar and virtual boy and ngage come and go. But Xbox and their innovation have landed a special place in my heart. I like Sony and Nintendo but the Xbox offerings suit me well. GPU is nice, how it’s “niche” is beyond me. But the gaming market is weird I know folks who will stream all day on Spotify but scream about ownership of games have prime for deals and video but they have to own the game or whatever. I play games like I listen to music and some games I do buy but ownership of GAME is not the hill I die on.

Gamepass is so good. And here’s the thing I just bought MHWilds and AC Shadows but I feel like when games like wuchang get on the service it feels like a love letter. Even though I pay for said letter. “Doesn’t break the bank and at this point feels like a utility lol”

@LogicStrikesAgain I know to many people who bought a PS5 to play CoD, NBA 2k, Madden, Fortnite. So no, exclusives are not the only selling point. But to your point the square enix exclusivity deal is what made my other friends get a PS5.

It would be interesting to see what team Xbox does. I may be in the minority but if Xbox can pull it off this would open up steam gaming for me while enjoying what Xbox has provided over the years. I’ll get the Xbox branded handheld to see what the future holds.

I like the strategy, I want Microsoft to continue in hardware even add a handheld. Buddy of mine went and got a port also he can enjoy MHW away from the tv. To me a streaming handheld on a platform I don’t have much as far as purchases would be a waist. But if Microsoft did it with a little native power of its own I’d jump back into handheld alongside my tv hookup. Making money is the game in any industry and if Microsoft makes a bang for its buck across different console spaces then so be it long as the hardware is good and the games which they are currently then fine by me.

I like my Xbox and I may get the switch 2 I mean with south by midnight, avowed Indiana jones stalker 2 I don’t know why folks are saying there no Xbox support. I get not knowing the future of xbox and the point of buying a console if you can play them on competition but man it’s not all that bad.
