The team behind 2018's Ashen has just revealed its latest game, Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn. Just like the studio's previous effort, Flintlock is an open world RPG, although it has a much more lifelike visual style this time around.

Ashen had some huge similarities with the Dark Souls series, and it'll be interesting to see if those links carry over once again. Here's what the developer has said about Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn's story thus far:

The door to the Afterlife has been opened, allowing the old god’s army of the undead to escape from within. Join Nor Vanek, a member of the coalition army, and her mystical companion Enki, a strange creature gifted with magical powers, as they pursue their personal vendetta against the gods.

When it comes to the game's open world, developer A44 says we'll be discovering the likes of "desert sands, cavernous ruins and towering cities filled with secrets" throughout.

This one looks great so far, albeit formed from a brief glimpse at what the game has to offer. Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn is coming to Xbox One and Series X|S, including Xbox Game Pass, sometime in 2022.
