Yeah tutorial didn't help much. I ended up watching an hour long YouTube video to play the game. There's a few glitches with scrolling in events (it doesn't scroll) and invisible clothes glitches (the female characters are nude under their head scarves), but it's a pretty decent game.
I've been using the Duke of Candras who is a 4 year old, with a huge army constantly attacking me. I became a vassal and now slowly fighting back from the inside!
Spending a lot of time playing Crusader Kings 3! First time playing this series for me, and there is a lot to learn, so spent a good deal of time looking on YouTube on the different gameplay mechanics and how to start.
It's good so far, but not feeling the 10/10 reviews from Critics. That's not to say it isn't good though, I'm still having a great time playing this.
People want good games, and good games take time to make, but people don't want to wait for them. Yet if devs were to rush games then everybody will verbally attack them for rushing it. I think Microsoft has made all the right moves recently, and have released some big games on Game Pass on day one last year.
They've acquired some devs, but development takes time, so Microsoft has invested a lot of money to bring quality games on Game Pass to help people pass the time until then.
Personally my backlog is crazy, with so many games having been released, and I've never experienced a gaming gen where I've got so many quality games to play and for only a subscription fee that pays for itself through Microsoft rewards.
@SubjectNine that's interesting as I mostly keep up to date with most of mine (I try do most of the daily quests on the website and xbox, and game pass but do miss the odd days and weekends). I've accumulated over 25,000 since January. I'm guessing it's because I miss some days so my daily/weekly bonus is lower? I also live in the UK, I've been trying to gain enough points to get a big discount on the Seagate Expandable SSD so any advice is welcome
I really like the Microsoft Rewards system, coupled along with Game Pass Quests. It allows you to try new games, and earn money as you do it. I've calculated that on average you are likely to make at least 9000 points (over £5 worth) a month, and that excludes the additional bonus quests etc. All it takes is around 10 minutes per day. In a year it gets close to £100, again with the bonus quests etc it can get even higher.
This is the UK of course, not sure how different it is elsewhere, but the rewards are worth it when you've saved up enough for a new piece of hardware or game, or your next Game Pass sub.
Playing through Elden Ring at the moment, but then Guardians of the Galaxy comes on Game Pass mid March, and Crusaders 3 on Game Pass again at the end of March. I also tried AC Valhalla on Free Play days which was good but I just haven't got the time for all these great games.
I've not been the biggest fan of From Software games, i could never really get into it. But this being open world really intrigued me so I'm excited to try it once I'm out of the office!
Was holding out on Sekiro just in case it comes out on Game Pass, but after reading this useful article, I guess it's a lot more complicated than I first imagined (for Sekiro at least). I'll buy it soon I guess!
@Nightcrawler71 I was looking to buy it again for the Series X optimisation in case it goes up in price, but after a big clean, I found my old Xbox One edition. I thought I had sold it after I sold my Xbox One (I switched to a PS4 back then), but turns out I still have it, and in all it's Steelbook glory!
@Royalblues I had never heard of Windjammers 2 until the above 2 comments and decided to look it up. Looks amazing and I'm going to download it, thanks!
I admit quick resume doesn't work all the time but when it does, I think its one of the best new features of the series x. I won't rely on it, and there are certain games which I know won't work on it - well I'll just quit it manually when I've finished playing it.
But when it does work (and in most cases it does), its unbelievable that I can get straight into a game without all the intro loads. Seriously, when it came to last gen, I skipped playing a lot of games just because I couldn't be bothered waiting through all the load times.
This is especially useful if you like to switch between indie games. My quick resume combo which works amazingly is Football Manager, Star Wars Fallen Order, Yes Your Grace, XCOM, and Red Dead Redemption 2.
I gave it a B, but I really wanted to give it an A. Based on the games so far (and its not even been 2 months) it's been solid but just short of an A grade.
But as to how I'm finding Game Pass, it's the best thing to happen in gaming. This is my all time fav gen and its because I have all these Triple A titles to play and some brilliant indie games as well (not to mention its practically free if you do most of your daily quests on Microsoft Rewards).
I recently just tried Yes, Your Grace. Pixellated but it's ingenious. Some of the most creative games are indie games and if most people just gave them a try, I think they'd find their own gems.
Although I won't be getting any of them, I am most excited for Dying Light 2. I'm just curious on how it'll do, and I have my doubts about it, but also pretty hopeful it'll turn out great! Can't justify getting games at full price (unless they're special) especially with how great a deal Game Pass is.
Would love Diablo 2 Resurrected on Gold. Been playing 3 again and love it, but number 2 looks kind of different so too risky to buy in case I won't enjoy it.
This post has just reminded me how much I loved this game so I've installed it again. Never gave nightmare mode a try - should I? Any tips on best way to approach nightmare mode?
Number 1 for me. I'll be honest and say I gave up on number 2 as it just wasn't the same game for me. I loved the RPG elements of one, and exploration on the Mako was a big thing for me.
I loved exploring all the planets on the Mako and felt like a true Astronaut!

Re: Crusader Kings 3 Is Available Today On Xbox Game Pass (March 29)
@StylesT my long lost twin haha! I need to stop starting/restarting games when I have too many to finish but I just can't help myself.
Re: Crusader Kings 3 Is Available Today On Xbox Game Pass (March 29)
This is bad. Now I have Elden Ring, Football Manager Xbox 2022, and now Crusader Kings on my list of games to play simultaneously. How will I cope?!
Re: Three Games Are Available Today With Xbox Game Pass (March 22)
Tainted Grail looks promising!
Re: Talking Point: Are You Enjoying Guardians Of The Galaxy On Xbox Game Pass?
I will definitely give this try. I just need to find some time in between Elden Ring sessions.

Re: Xbox Game Pass March 2022 List: Coming Soon & Leaving Soon
I did not know Crusader Kings 3 was coming to Xbox! To be honest, I would have purchased it day one but no need with Gamepass!

Re: The Lord Of The Rings Gaming Rights Are Up For Sale
Shadow of War was one of my favourite games so hopefully whoever buys it will fund an LOTR game with Nemesis system again.
