Re: Square Enix Is Cutting Down Its Western Workforce, Focusing On Japanese Development

@Sindayl the problem is they're not just making their own games and franchises, they're taking classic ones and destroying them because it's just not organically done, it feels forced into it. It effects the writing and narratives, gives us shallow or obnoxious characters. The self insert problem is real. Hearing fantasy characters talk with the same tones and slang of modern people is also so jarring.

So yes, continue the purge of the industry and leave only developers who want to just make fun games and take my money!

Hence Veilguard, Shadows, Andromeda, Battlefield 2042 facing backlash and poor sales. Every time I'm like "make a fun game and take my money", and it keeps happening to my favourite franchises, so I just will not buy them, and thousands or millions of us aren't either.

Ubisoft has essentially died, EA has likely dropped Dragon Age permanently now. It used to be that developers were gamers, but too many seem to be activists using the medium to pose as gamers. Mass Effect had gayism in the early games and didn't shout about it. Veilguard then went cringe and everything else suffered as blooming heck the writers weren't any good at actually writing.

The backlash has destroyed franchises and is causing mass job losses. Now the result is Saudi and Chinese purchases, so I'm sure you'll enjoy the Saudis of all groups more and more controlling what our industry looks like.

Re: The Timing Of Xbox's 25th Anniversary Just Got A Lot More Awkward

I found GTA IV to be a masterpiece, but V to be as dull as anything, so 6 is of no interest to me.

If they were bothered about the anniversary, there could have been a 2.0 style update to Forza Motorsport, or make 4 backwards compatible; or they could shadow drop a 4k60 patch for an old Xbox exclusive like Lost Odyssey, but alas...
