Around this time last year, we reminisced about one of Xbox's best-ever exclusives when Sunset Overdrive officially hit 10 years of age - and while its 2025 anniversary isn't quite as important, we have seen the Xbox community talking about the game once again, and we don't really need much of an excuse to join them to be honest.
So, here's to almost 11 years of existence, Sunset Overdrive! Yep, Insomniac Games' sole Xbox exclusive will be 11 later this month, and we still have very fond memories of this game and its launch. The title's bonkers open world was very impressive back then, and it proved to be one of Xbox One's most revered launch-era games back in 2014.
Pretty much every October we convince ourselves that we're going to get around to replaying this one, and with the next few weeks looking incredibly busy on Xbox and beyond, we'll probably end up missing the chance once again this year. Maybe, just maybe Microsoft could update it one day and give us some modern enhancements? That's looking increasingly unlikely nowadays, but it'd certainly push us into actually replaying it.
There's always the upcoming ROG Xbox Ally, we suppose? The game did launch on PC and that version would run much better than the base Xbox One code, so we'll have to see what the future holds on that front. For now, we'll cling onto those precious 2014 memories as Sunset Overdrive officially hits 11 years of age later this month.
