@Balaam_ man they took away my Hunt Showdown disc from me. I own a lot of physical but the devs can indeed update it so your disc no longer provides you anything on it. They at least gave me free Blood Bonds to use in the next gen update Hunt 1896 that was the equivalent price of the game. You need to buy a second Xbox that's never online to make sure your games don't get offlined via an update. I still buy physical only for Nintendo Switch since they always shutdown their eShops although have a lot of digital for small games.
@OldGamer999 they should release Xbox console versions of the S or X for some of those big releases. A custom Fable theme or DOOM theme would sell like hotcakes
@Steel76 I think the Xbox team honestly don't work closely with their partners to optimize games. Halo Infinite, despite being a bad launch had 4k at 120FPS & DOOM Eternal's Ray tracing and performance was spectacular. I get what you're saying and it's true they're pushing performance but I don't think they're really optimizing for the XSX architecture. Look at how Nintendo push a mobile gaming chip from 2016 to churn out beautiful looking games, that despite not being 4K 60 FPS Look pretty dang smooth for 2024.
Can we at least get games to take full advantage of the XSX right now? It's not even pushing the hardware yet. They need to focus on game output for the current Gen and not next gen. Always good to have people planning it but c'mon, we don't even have 8K gaming let alone 120fps 4K with Ray tracing. Let's get a lawsuit going for false advertising lol
@Cakefish I think there was an article from Phil Spencer somewhere where he recently said all the growth is on PC and they want to be there more. MS really just want us to move over to PC which to be fair, is a slight hassle and more expensive but it'll be where a lot of stuff is getting released first. We are getting abandoned slowly but surely & I love my Xbox so here's hoping they double down on console and this is just a bad phase. Time will tell.
Instant Day 7 buy after all the reviews are out, maybe instant year 1 buy if full of bugs. I LOVED Oblivion, never got into Skyrim much wasn't a fan of the theme. But I probably would love it if I dropped 20 hours in..
@Banjo- I think even with a cheaper tier it's not going to be moving millions of people over from gatcha - style mobile games taking in big cash. It's my hope MSFT lets ABK do their thing on mobile because Microsoft never cracked the code on its own & I hope they don't hob let those studios like so many other they've acquired. Don't see a need for them to bring all games under game pass but once they can get their own store on mobile they have a ton of opportunity for growth. Just think it's not gonna be what they think it is. Families and younger people are not clamoring for the Xbox brand.
@Millionski I agree with you. Microsoft fundamentally misunderstand the mobile video game player. They don't want to pay for anything, $5 like Star few Valley might appear too much. They love F2P games that have like pseudo-gambling mechanics that get them to spend $20-100 to speed up artificial timers to progress their gameplay. Console and PC games offer a near complete experience for a fixed price + DLC and of course have loads of F2P games that mostly require physical hardware peripherals like controllers or M&K because they demand precision. Microsoft ain't gonna be able to exploit the mobile gamer in the way they think with their traditional game experiences. I think the Nintendo Switch sold like hotcakes with their Fortnite bundle early in its lifecycle. They understood younger players wanted a mobile experience but better control & also have it "free" even though it came with $20 of in game currency to encourage the gambling mechanic of unlocking skins. Needless to say, I totally agree with you. Microsoft is pushing half baked experiences. If they can work with their Surface division and put out a great handle, they'll shift more people over but honestly the PC handheld market is saturated already with a couple of contenders already on Gen 3-4 of their hardware.
The first 2 minutes of the video are enough. You can come to the same conclusions watching the actual ad yourself as well. I still think this ad campaign will do very little for them. They need to rebrand their gaming division and ditch the green & name Xbox
@Medic_alert man if Sony gets Star Field and use their SSD architecture to get minimal loading screens I'm sure it'll be a much better experience. I had a great time out in space & would've liked to be able to actually fly to places like in No Man's Sky.
I had a great time in Star Field, loved the ship building. I wish leveling up skills was slightly faster & I hope they add big epic boss fight missions that required usage of your powers (don't wanna spoil) a la Mega Man style weaknesses. Beautiful game.
I saw the comparisons of Cyberpunk to Star Field after I beat the game and yeah, Bethesda needs to make their NPCs move more naturally like in Cyberpunk because those movements of characters look like they're straight out of Morrowind on the OG Xbox.
Give away the system sellers to Sony and keep the other niche ones on Xbox. It's all an Xbox. At least Sony and Nintendo genuinely care about creating rich, unique experiences and take full advantage of their hardware's unique capabilities. Xbox really could make games more immersive through physical products and peripherals but they just gave up after the Kinect. They make more variants of their Xbox controllers than games. I want Hall joysticks and a new controller from Xbox. The Stellar and Lunar shift controllers I bought have irreversible drift 😠so mad about that because now they're $65 paperweights. Have them saved in case I want break them open & try a last ditch effort to repair. MS won't even take them back for a paid repair, smh. Anyway, Hellblade 2 will come to PS5 and probably Switch via the cloud. It's a slow game so could work on cloud pretty well compared to faster paced games.
@Rog-X yeah it's an industry thing to get it to a "good enough stuff" state so they can start generating revenue to see if it's even worth it to invest more money into it. Always a big risk launching games for the big players.
@Millionski I'm pretty sure they'll raise Gamepass up to $20/mo and at that point I'll just buy my games on sale or physical (of that even exists next gen, prob not). $240/yr can get you a ton of games on sale, Day One games are all buggy and MS has delayed a lot each year making my GP sub feel like it doesn't matter. Also considering a PS5 pro let me know how you like it!
Good lol Idk why Microsoft made me become cynical of their Xbox brand. I was and am an Xbox die hard but man! I am dying hard with their decisions! I'll keep buying their games but not on Xbox anymore 😠stop breaking our hearts Microsoft
@Ricky-Spanish with a PC we can just emulate all those games hehe or get them for cheap on Steam. I have a big Epic library from them giving away so many games for free a year or two ago
@Ricky-Spanish I would love if Nintendo did full re-releases of every variant of their consoles but with newer screens, re-releases of their top hits on carts and an online eShop. I would literally spend thousands of dollars on this, no price would be too high to pay.
Just be a publisher and stop calling it Xbox if you're not using a box. The brand is sullied, rebrand! I'll still buy Microsoft games but I'm out on their hardware after this gen. I'll keep the Xbox Series X forever. It was probably their best console and it plays all my old games. I won't need to buy a newer console to play these since this gen already covers that need. They're already one of the biggest gaming companies in the world, don't need Satella to come and spew marketing. The guy is a vicious businessman. Rebrand & let us buy Nintendo & Sony consoles. Or even better, release an affordable PC with Windows and gaming at the price of an Xbox and let us upgrade it like a real PC. Or I just build a PC which is honestly the best way to go moving forward. All the growth is in PC so Microsoft is incentived to push us towards that
That makes a lot of sense given how large Series S is as a base & how little Xbox has supported physical at all. I collect a lot of physical for Xbox but think I am in the minority
@theduckofdeath I agree with this..it's true Nintendo put out great games with little patchwork but it's because they severely constrain the experience albeit excellent experiences, they do not attempt massive games like this. I mean a game that is the entire world seems like there would be plenty of issues. I had a great time with FS2020 so have no problem waiting another year to hop into this. I have too many games to play so no rush.
@Netret0120 that's just the reality of delivering games with high fidelity, complex physics engines. 8-32 bit games are far easier to control for. A complex game like The Witcher is obviously going to have bugs. Like just think about it, even if they had 1000 testers, they can't POSSIBLY test what millions of players are going to do. I understand what you're saying & sure, I wish that was the case. But it's just not modern software development. There's nothing "wrong" with it, it just is. I will say, Nintendo launches a ton of games even today with maybe 1-2 small updates but a lot of them are still ready to go on-cart. They also have a simpler development environment & focus very hard on quality.
This looks sick. Love the 80s vibes. I hope this does as well as Iga's Bloodstained games. Those have awesome soundtracks, bite sized levels, challenge, lots of hidden goodies and challenging gameplay. Stage 5 Sunset the Night theme song?! Doesn't get any better https://youtu.be/FUIylfsY2v8?feature=shared
Looks dope. If anybody wants a game without a bunch of bugs, just don't buy it for a year and let it cook with players providing feedback & encountering bugs. There is just so much that can happen when a game this big gets out to millions and millions of players trying all sorts of fun, crazy stuff. It will have bugs 100% at launch. About time they let Geralt retire, Ciri is more than capable. Lets not get toxic too fast when a change comes & especially if the lead is a woman. The game is going to be great, stop hating on a franchise that has just gone above and beyond for us. Let's see what comes next in the saga.
For a game called origins, I'd expect an intro with his tribe & some nice back story there. Pretty sure it's just gonna be action, I remember playing Turok on my Gameboy color. Hope this does better than it looks, agree, it's probably a 7/10 if they do it right, which is not a bad score.
Thanks for this. Lots of good games. Let's just imagine the release dates are 6 months later and we will all be happy. Elden Ring will be great to get into again.
@SCHONBOB try it out on Halo Infinite, I think there's a notable difference, it's just a lot smoother. Your TV probably also supports VRR & some other tech to keep everything fluid on screen for frame rate drops. 30 to 60 is pretty noticeable. 60 to 120 is a nice to have but I often find myself picking whatever gives me the highest fps over graphics, so will always go down in resolution if I can get more frames.
@Kraven yes! It is Post Malone. Today marks the start of Post Malone's Murder Circus Event. New enemies, new boss, and rerelease of anew map now next gen. The game looks beautiful, some of the best graphics out there for next gen.
Hunt is also having sale on a lot of skins, with the next gen update and this event there's not a better time to get into it. Tips: the guns do major damage & everything can headshot you. Okay it slowly & don't make much noise. You're playing against other hunters that are well trained humans, they will hunt you down & can have all sorts of guns or trap combos so you need to stay on your toes. Always carry a stamina shot and keep a vitality shot on your hotkey if you're new. Don't shoot innovators (fire guys) blunt melee them, don't blunt melee armored (the husk garbage can guys) stab them with a sharp object. When you banish a boss target, get ready for all hell to break loose when you pick up the bounty because all of the players on the map have had time to set up camping spots all around you. Last but not least, take it slow & listen to your surroundings. Have fun out there hunters!
I too appreciate the joke of a billion dollar problem. I felt taken care of by MS back then despite getting two red rings. Now I just have joy cons and Xbox controllers with horrendous drift. Feel like a fed ring ornament or tree topper would be money
@Arcticpandapopz definitely helps to have a teammate you can communicate with, you can try the Looking for Group function or start one yourself. If it helps you, pop a 10 min stamina shot and if you see people at extraction just use your stamina and run across the map to another point. The Magpie trait will give you an instant boost and double your Sight to 10 seconds if you're a solo. Nothing better than outrunning campers, aside from fighting them of course. Thursday Dec 12th is the kickoff of a brand new event with Post Malone and the Murder Circus so I'm sure a lot of new players will dive right in. You might also want to try the Bounty Clash mode which is just a condensed fight at a compound & will let you experiment with a bunch of guns. It's brutal but fun.
Very excited to see more people in Hunt. It definitely takes some time to learn the ropes but it's one of the most rewarding shooters out there. If you're a fan of spatial audio & taking things slowly to suddenly switching to explosive, *alls to the walls gun fights then this is for you. A headshot will kill and 2-3 body shots puts you down, no need to worry about looting for armor because everyone gets (or should at least know to get) health packs. Pro tip for newbies always get a Stamina Shot. Also start with either a weak vitality or full vitality shot and hotkey it so you can quickly recover in fights. Don't set off sound traps & play quietly otherwise you will be "hunted" by the more senior players. Sound is KEY!! Messagee if you wanna play on a West or East Coast server on Xbox. Looking for a 3rd player for trios! Will teach you the basics if you think you're good at shooters & have patience. I'm a 5 star and not a sweaty 6 star. Time to hunt!
@Arcticpandapopz ya gotta play the game slower. Everyone will see where you're moving once you have the bounty and you don't know where everyone is at. So they'll anticipate your move to extraction and hunt you. Just assume you're getting stalked all the time & that people will try to get you at various choke points near the bounty of otw to extraction. This game takes a lot of patience and time to learn but it's worth the effort imo. One of the best shooters out there from a skill and tactical perspective without being too fast paced like a lot of F2P shooters. But I definitely get the frustration. Hunt giveth and Hunt taketh away.
Not surprised at all. I uninstalled the Mana series for this. Will still give it a go since we pay Game pass has just gone up in my price and my old multi-year Gold to GP conversion is running out next year. Back to some JRPGs after this.
@UserTK-421 thanks for the tip. Also the graphics on those games were already very good on Xbox One so they run really well on the newer hardware, even though the Series S is weaker than the Xbox One X. I honestly think this gen that power level should've been the base model for Series S rather than making it the midpoint between and Xbox One and Xbox One X.
@UserTK-421 man I love SW Battlefront 2015, I was great at that game but when I've tried the last few years the servers are always empty. Such a shame they abandoned that game after the BF2 fiasco with micro transactions. Always thought the first game was better

Re: Xbox Adds Two Surprise Titles To This Month's Game Pass Lineup
Re: Xbox Adds Two Surprise Titles To This Month's Game Pass Lineup
Re: Review: Indiana Jones And The Great Circle (Xbox) - A MachineGames Misfire
Not surprised at all. I uninstalled the Mana series for this. Will still give it a go since we pay Game pass has just gone up in my price and my old multi-year Gold to GP conversion is running out next year. Back to some JRPGs after this.

Re: Xbox Series S Will Be Discounted For Black Friday, Confirms Microsoft
@UserTK-421 thanks for the tip. Also the graphics on those games were already very good on Xbox One so they run really well on the newer hardware, even though the Series S is weaker than the Xbox One X. I honestly think this gen that power level should've been the base model for Series S rather than making it the midpoint between and Xbox One and Xbox One X.
Re: Xbox Series S Will Be Discounted For Black Friday, Confirms Microsoft
@UserTK-421 man I love SW Battlefront 2015, I was great at that game but when I've tried the last few years the servers are always empty. Such a shame they abandoned that game after the BF2 fiasco with micro transactions. Always thought the first game was better
