Sorry to hear, Craig was a talented guy. I admit I didn't visit the YT channel very often but I read the site daily. Wishing Craig and the rest of the PureXbox team the very best of luck as they restructure things around!

I feel like Nintendo Life has many more products and accessories to be able to link to for ad rev than Xbox does so hoping the way they include PC gaming helps keep this site running. You guys are awesome and thank you for writing and keeping the whole PX community engaged!

It's a tough environment out there right now & with economies starting to slow a bit I feel gaming takes a hit which might mean more bad news. Let's keep it positive though!

@Ryu_Niiyama I wish we could do this with the Xbox series x! It already smokes my personal laptop in terms of overall power, memory and capabilities. It would make a nice PC

I don't think it will make a big impact to be honest. PC handhelds don't sell in very large numbers relative to outputs from Nintendo or Sony. Let's be honest, Xbox is entering another console war here and entering into a very crowded space with Ayaneo, Lenovo, Asus, Steam, LG, Nvidia, and a lot of other competitors.

@Medic_alert this is like a B franchise at best given the size of the studio & based on their previous work. High quality cut scenes would be welcome to match the graphics from the 2020 trailer

This game is so far away from the release of the excellent State of Decay 2, is the genre even relevant anymore? Did they grow the audience base? Not holding my breath for this one but will give it a go when it drops on Gamepass assuming it's before my sub runs out in November

One more comment, if this gets used for cheating online multiplayer will not be feasible or fun for players in a lot of scenarios

I'm a Halo diehard and put hundreds of hours into Infinite but they really dropped the ball at launch AND then decided not to put campaign DLC with that cliff hanger ending. Campaign was good on Infinite and I want more. Hope the switch to UE5 helps them focus on the story and that they move in the direction of Cortana not dominating as the villain any longer (which is what Infinite set the series up for)

This is great and headed in the right direction! Pretty sure like 60% of these are shovelware garbage so hoping for more big purchases to transfer! Was so bummed when I got the ROG and like only 6-8 of my 100+ titles were available. Glad to see improvement here!

Dumb. I don't want this in my games or have AI analyzing everything I do. I hope they do the right thing and allow for you to totally disable the feature which they'll probably have to do anyway for some EU countries.

I am sure those that want the features will love it. As long as they keep giving us options and allow for opt out, I am a happy camper!

This will be nice, I really hated the Rog ZX1 because I essentially needed to plug a mouse and keyboard in it to set it all up and adjust settings. Simpler UI for handhelds would seem like a minimum requirement but obviously not as the target market was PC and not the every day gamer.

Aside from that, are the real Xbox fans watching Minecraft the movie in a few weeks or nah? Where da fanboys at?

@Weebleman for real man, I feel the XSX is underutilized and we aren't getting the bang for our buck. No 8k games and they skimp on all the promises on the box with 120fps, 4k and Ray tracing as they're all full of compromises. Want them to really develop more games to take advantage of the hardware's unique power and capabilities.

They should just release a configurable PC with components you can remove and upgrade yourself. Keep whatever Xbox form factor on the outside and make it a freaking PC. If Microsoft was able to make it easy for me to pick a PC rather than build one which I want to do in 2027 then that's a no brainer. Then they can focus development on just PC. Make this easy for us guys! I still like the Xbox brand so if that's slapped on there even better.

@Coletrain oh man they'll just cut the bottom performers and consolidate the top dogs in ever more focused studios. I'm hoping they layoff more of the 343 legacy folks and give Halo Studios more resources from the DOOM id software team. SUCH A GOOD OPPORTUNITY TO GIVE THEM HALO! I think they would do the Master Chief very well. Imagine a gravity hammer just splattering a brute? Off topic. But yeah, wish they would do good but they'll do what makes business sense even if the devs deserve more resources and more cash for their awesome work

I've been emphasizing the "Soft" in Microsoft the past year and half as it's been clear Microsoft is moving toward that entity and they'll continue to keep plugging the gap with powerful hardware until they can have it on every device whenever that may be. I'll continue supporting consoles & also start building my PC in 2027. Just need to save, no rush with my backlog on Xbox and Switch

I think an update that makes 20+ unique bosses to match each temple would help the game tremendously. Making small dungeons in each temple with unique puzzles would help too. More large boss creatures and mixing up the AI's battle gear would be great.

I feel like there's a need for niche Japanese Xbox games because I buy a lot of them. Think there's not enough coverage on them for Xbox which is bad news if we want more content 😭

I only ever really played Gears 1 since I was a teen when the series launched and had no money for the later entries. I did play A LOT of multiplayer. I feel if they don't really evolve the game much there's no reason to dive back in. It's not the technical marvel it once was. I still support people that love the series and have been die hards. Don't let me take away from your good experiences!

The narrative of the game is pretty good. I think things to do with the end game and the design choice of having randomly generated planets, enemies and bases made a lot of people get bored quick and think they put no effort into the game. A lot of the game, environments and storylines, however, ARE handcrafted and there are some very cool moments throughout my 100+ hours with the game and I didn't even complete all the different narratives yet. You can still learn new things about your crew mates 100 hours into the game too. I get where he is coming from, I think people over hyped the game and didn't really take the time to get to know it. Blowing through the main campaign does get repetitive but I think this is a game if you take your time with, it really is a much better experience. I probably spent 40% of my time building ships though tbf

@xboxjapanfan they need to bundle it with more sports title, F2P games and COD. The games everyone plays & then market it as powerful & affordable compared to PS. Having some sleek colors on the S or X would also help with sales. Like a red or blue Series S bundled with some fun titles seems like a no brainer. People love custom colors and fun colors. Like Series S should seriously be heavily marketed to wayyy more demographics with some hardcore focus for the XSX

@Kaloudz I agree, they won't get out of the console space. I think even with the current numbers, they're making around $1 billion in revenue on console sales and from what I understand they do have a high attach rate on digital games per console so not sure anyone would let a billion in revenue go. I'll prob swap to PC after this gen anyway & keep the XSX as long as possible since my library has like 150 titles on it hehe

@Rodimusprime13 they should honestly make Xboxes like they do their custom controllers. Let people pick from a base model with refunds and pay more for design with no returns. Then they lose their stock issues & can control production better. Cut out the middle man and save millions on supply chain management and shipping costs.

All the pro versions of the Xbox are for the real fans. We seem to be a shrinking number 🥲
I am still happy the Series S is there as I've been able to convince a couple of friends to get it since they don't game often & don't want to spend hundreds on a PS5 or X.

Honestly happy to see that level of support. There's not many all new next gen games so for those getting as much out of their xbones as possible, all the power to them!

I hope they just raise the prices and push big titles out so we can fund them while they seek PC and other console audiences. The delay had better not be because they want to ship it on PS5 day one 😭 I am switching to Gamepass Core once my GPU is up in November . I wish we could turn off all the GPU ads they hit you with at lower tiers.

I am a massive Fable fan so want them to take their time for the right reasons. Just sucks for long term subs not getting it in the window they purchased.

@16BitHero I like the industrial applications of the light AR-ware that helps mechanics kind of troubleshoot over video calls or get instructions on fixing something. Obviously they need indepth training too but have loved exploring the concepts in the business world

It's only going to be mainstream once Nintendo can successfully do it. They failed in the 90s and I am such a big fan of them saying they don't do: AR, VR or the Metaverse because they design things around the player's experience. If it's not a good compelling experience then they won't do it. The Metaverse is a great example, I'm so happy Facebook is struggling there as they tried to do boxing apps and stuff like this. Just box with your friend at that point (light taps as you prefer ), go to a martial arts class, play ARMS or play Wii Sports. I still don't get what they're aiming at when watching video content on a high fidelity screen can give you the same content as with a fully immersive headset. I've played VR games over the years at Comic Con, watched at Gamescon and they've always been gimmicky. I'm all for it if it is a compelling trick experience that isn't super uncomfortable

@Titntin I feel a focus on Microsoft Game Studios makes total sense as Pure Xbox is no longer Microsoft's focus. That is super hard from an SEO perspective so I'm sure it will be a challenge for the PureXbox team as they've written thousands of articles. I'm sure they can consolidate some stuff with Push Square and Nintendo Life like they do with Time Extension. I visit this site almost everyday but agree it'll have to transform with Microsoft's strategy to generate more buzz. I imagine if the Xbox market is shrinking the site will plateau too. Hoping Fraser, PJ and team can keep all the good stuff coming regardless of what MS is deciding on!

I hope they use their ABK deal to do an Age of Empires port for mobile. Let's face it, Clash, Age of War and so many crappy mobile apps have tried to copy their formulas and put in Timer-For-Money gimmicks to give mobile gamers just a taste of what the real AoE has to offer. I really like the controller feel they added to the series on Xbox. Hoping for more Age of Empires!

@nomither6 definitely! I remember how good it looked running even on the Nintendo Switch. Just like the anime. Such a fun game!

Such a good freaking game, belongs in everyone's library and the sales give no excuse why you shouldn't own some version of it

I mean the same loop could be made for no additional money but with gacha mechanisms and the near legal gambling mechanisms they have, it makes total sense they put all support towards players with money. It's like having the quarter machines in our house. I love supporting one particular game and I do buy cosmetics for it to support the developers. The more I've done that the more I've spent in the game and real world currency. Makes total sense.

I do currently get 4k 120fps on Halo Infinite and Hunt 1896 pretty consistently so hoping it's easier for devs to enable this but let's see where the future takes us

It's gonna be for the Nex-box. Honestly would make a great cross gen game if it means we get more powerful hardware to give us 4k 120-240fps across all new games. As much as I wanna move to PC I still have hope for Xbox

Nintendo is going hard for an 8 year old console! I'd love a return to their smaller, cheaper handhelds just for the form factor. All the new handhelds are freaking massive unwieldy beasts that can barely hold a charge for a short ride around town.

Just let me play my games and access my library as the absolutely first thing I see that takes up the first screen. I don't want to see ads everywhere. They could make a News section and keep all the ads there rather than have their rotating ads on the home page. For those of you without GPU, I also hate how it literally prompts you to buy GPU at every possible opportunity and interaction on the Xbox. Like please, let us tick a box to not be reminded.

They could also just not say anything and provide a vague release window THEN announce it when it's ready. Fans man, just let these guys take their time & not feel pressured to rush a game out, their corporate overlords already put a ton of stress in them to make money not games

Microsoft is also using AI to fuel warfare abroad right now, read in the AP yesterday 😭 They're in so many places it's wild. All for them putting AI usage towards entertainment and work productivity than anything else. Here's hoping they use Muse legitimately and not steal as much data as possible as their earlier efforts.

The race to the bottom every company is taking part in right now. Who wouldn't shift to lower cost labor abroad if they were just as qualified or slightly more or less qualified than someone with a higher budget? Sucks for those investing their lives into becoming game devs only to have this happen.
