Not for me. The gameplay looks fine but it's the style that puts me off. Kinda looks like it's that sort of game that burns your eyes and give you a headache lol.
@TrollOfWar @WildConcept6 @OldGamer999 It's just a crazy time isn't it. I'd certainly be a "little" bit worried if I was working at Rare or T10, but I can only imagine the numbers team being a driving force for decisions like this. Surely there's an accountant somewhere (or a few of them) that weigh up the cost of a studio vs the cost of the income said studio makes? Or is that not how it works?
@Fiendish-Beaver I prefer those days though. Everything these days is just crammed. I think the simplicity of days gone was a driving factor as to how people functioned so normally during waking hours. Don't get me wrong, the birth of the net was great for its time, but the magic it brought with it died out with the likes of AOL.
@Ricky-Spanish Ha! I remember watching Thriller over, and over, and over again (the 15 minute odd long mini video) at like 6am with my brother. Good old VHS that used to take half a day to rewind (and even longer if the tape player chewed up the ribbon) O_o
Still though, we had some truly amazing things back then. Terminator, RoboCop, Stallone, Russell... Speaking of Terminator, is this game canon? Or at least canon to something? Seeing as the whole canon is destroyed.
@Ricky-Spanish Same here haha! Back in the day where TV ended at like 11pm (curtsey of that girl with the chalkboard that would always pop up). So many classics from way back when.
Good for them. Really glad to see that this has gone down well, and no doubt the folks over on PS will appreciate a classic. I doubt this will top FH sales on PS, but it will no doubt do well enough.
@Coletrain Could not agree more. I'd take anything from these devs for the simple reason that they're in-tune with community. They know what we want and they're clearly able to deliver. I was blown away by E33 and even more so on my second run (you notice things that you didn't notice to begin with - such as Verso watching the Expedition enter the mansion for the first time, and more).
Looking forward to this one. What I loved about HK was that it was tough, but fair. I usually avoid these sorts of games but that game was very moreish.
@Ricky-Spanish Recently watched (or re-watched) Dark Fate. It's a pretty decent (though silly in places) story. Certainly not T1/T2 but those were lightning in a bottle IMO.
@Jenkinss I don't think I had any of them. I do remember playing games on a console using floppy discs, and I even remember getting a monthly magazine that came with TMNT across several discs that came free with the mag, but I can't remember for the life of me what the machine was. I also remember (I think the title is right) Jumping Jack?
@EdgarTheBug Yeah good shout bud. I might pick up a console or find an emulator to try a few of these and then buy the game when it comes to Xbox if I like them. Thanks man.
@Nighto4 Yeah for sure. The story needs to be left. That's something I hope they have the sense to do. I'd hate it if they made a DLC that goes beyond the ending of the E33 story. I do wonder though, which ending is truly considered canon.
Oh I know! I cannot wait for the movie. I certainly hope they pick Robert Patterson for Gustave. He'd nail that in both looks and character.
@Sindayl Mind if I ask what you disliked about it most?
@AverageGamer I get that, but that whole development-side trouble should have been applied to the OG. They shouldn't be milking money fixing their own mistakes.
More Square Enix goodness would be great but overall any Japanese game will be sweet. I do wonder if we see FF XVI coming to Game Pass in the not so distant future.
Never played any of these. One game I'd love to see come back is an old Mega Drive / Genesis game. It was a McDonald's-themed game called Mic / Mac or something like that. Surprisingly good but fairly difficult.
Sorry, but I really do not see the point in this. The game's visuals don't suit the need for an upgrade IMO. It's a colourful cutesy game that wasn't all that hard. It should have stayed where it was if you ask me.
The more the merrier. It'd be nice to see some older titles making the leap, I agree. I do wonder if we see a return to BC games (licence to the side) getting similar treatment over the years.
Far too technical for me to wrap my head around but it's pretty telling when they have to make statements like this. They know the tech better than anyone.
@Cherip-the-Ripper That's the beauty of it. They could go absolutely anywhere with it. It's a world of endless possibilities that are tethered to the imagination / personality of the painter or writer. I reckon the next game will take place outside of the canvas, or possibly within the realm of however the writers create things.
@Sindayl E33 is as perfect as a game can be. The visuals, the score, the gameplay (for a turn based RPG) the story. It all bonds together so well. FF7 has been my favourite game for nearly 30 years. E33 took its place.
@Coletrain I know right? I would personally love to see a story revolving around the writers - to see how they function. Whatever they do though, they need to leave the expedition canvas alone. That story is done and dusted, and it doesn't get any better than that. I don't think there's any need to go back there - unless they can come up with a way that allows characters to leave the canvas... Either way, whatever they do, I am so there for it.
@WildConcept6 You're right. It's daft though really because it's not like developers and publishers are shy of releasing 1.0 games that are in severe need of fixes post-release.
@Cherip-the-Ripper Outside of the canvas (the canvas being where all the expeditions take place) is the world the painters live in. We know next to nothing about that world, or the writers (that also live in that world). And that's just one element. There could be millions of other painters and millions of other canvases - each housing their own worlds and characters and plots. That doesn't even account for how the writers build their own worlds.
The world of expedition is just one single canvas in a world where painters and writers (and whatever else) can forge stories totally unique and separate from E33.
@Ninerguy1608 Thanks so much for pointing this out. That's definitely one I will get day one (and I don't say that about many games). The concept is amazing.
@Ricky-Spanish It's right up my street. I'll be finished with work by the weekend so I'll see what's left of payday and pick it up haha. Would be pretty neat to firefight together
Really looking forward to this game. I absolutely loved the reboot trilogy. They also recently had a company connect all the lore for them so that everything syncs up.
Is all I've wanted to hear from the dev since the game released. Best game I've played in my 40 years of life. The limits are endless with this franchise.
@YungCizzle24 I cant tell you what their plans are, but I do fully anticipate that they will make big waves next gen. Everything we know so far (about the console and MS' current movements) point to a very interesting gen.
@WildConcept6 Could not agree more with what you've said. Unfortunately, too, is that in a lot of cases, early access also means player-led-choices. So devs will cater for the early access players (and sometimes even alter their own visions) which is both good and bad if you ask me.
@Millionski I absolutely agree. In fact I think that's one strong area that Sony got one good foot forward. Keeping their kits the same minus a disc drive is exactly what MS should have done IMO.

Re: Despite Cancelling Everwild, Xbox Has Just Hired Its Executive Producer For A Major Role
@OldGamer999 I personally reckon they'll be shuttered as soon as they sunset Sea of Thieves in a few years, much like Turn10 and FM.
On topic of this news, I'm glad they found a role. Curious to see what comes of it as time moves on.

Cant believe SS is just a few days away. I'm still loving E33 but I might put it down for a while to play that.

Silksong steals the show there for me, but then, we have no idea what else is coming lol.

Not bad at all. MS seem to be making a lot of good moves lately but I think a lot of what we see is them setting themselves up for the upcoming gen.

@Ricky-Spanish I'll splash out on pay day my friend. Might just catch you for a game or two

Cold Fear was very good IMO. I'd definitely give that a smash.

I actually might give this a spin if I catch a few hours. Didn't really rate the others that much. Fun, but not addictive.
