Poll: Are You Buying Silent Hill F Next Week?

100% of us are pre-ordering Silent Hill F: Deluxe Edition, although, I was the first to vote... 🤣

I will be getting the game on Monday, though I likely I won't play it for a few weeks as my schedule is pretty backed up right now. I've just completed Hell Is Us, which was my favourite game of the year (beating out Expedition 33 to that honour), but now my favourite game is Cronos: The New Dawn, which is simply excellent. Once I've finished Cronos, I'll be playing Deadzone Rogue, and after that I plan to play Ghost of Yotei, which I have on pre-order (and which is the only game that I have bought that is not for the Xbox. The question then comes down to whether I play Silent Hill F next, or Dying Light: The Beast. I have also bought Borderlands 4, though I will wait for all the DLC to drop for that game before I play it.

September has been an absolutely spectacular month for me when it comes to gaming, though it has also been extremely expensive...!

I am not buying that game! It scares the pants off me!

Until SH2 is released, I'm not going to buy anything from the series. I'm really tired of Xbox players being treated like second-class users.

Not buying this, but I have and will be buying more new games this year than any in a long, long time. Bought Sonic Racing Crossworlds, Slime Rancher 2 (finally leaving Early Access), & Digimon Story Time Stranger, and play on buying Powerwash Sim 2, Marvel Cosmic Invasion, & the He-Man Beat 'Em Up when we get release dates for those.

@Fiendish-Beaver I have finished Cronos recently and it was great experience. But the inventory could be bigger from the start 😅

I will grab it eventually my hands are full with Borderlands 4 and Dying Light The Beast right now.

I have probably spent half the game trying to manage me inventory space, @DeadSpace. I think the game is truly excellent, and will be starting a New Game Plus run on the harder difficult as soon as I have finished my first run (I think I am nearing the end at the moment. I'm maybe 85% through).

What I will say is that anyone that enjoyed Dead Space, and / or Resident Evil 2 and 3, will probably enjoy Cronos. It certainly pays homage to Dead Space, whilst being its own game. I really hope this isn't the last we see of this world (although I have not finished it yet, so that may not be an option!)...

@Fiendish-Beaver actually after completing the game I was thinking about starting it again. It stays in your head after. The story isn't so obvious and the twist isn't cheap. I think playing it again with all the inventory could be fun!

@Gabrie ja wont be picking up FF7 remake also for the same reason.

What I like about New Game Plus in this game, @DeadSpace, is that whilst most games lock you into whatever difficulty you first played it on for NG+, Cronos allows you to play on the harder difficulty in NG+, meaning it is unlike Dead Space where if you want to play the hardest difficulties, you do so from the very beginning, which meant it was pretty challenging.

Having said that, Dead Space 1 and 2 are two of my favourite games, and going through them and getting those super hard, super rare, difficultly achievements felt like a real, er.. achievement! Few games give that real sense of achievement like those two games. I still remember getting the Impossible achievement in the first Dead Space, where you cannot die throughout the entire game, and also the Hard To The Core achievement in the second game where you only had a total of three saves, which meant you had to keep pushing how far you went into the game before you saved so that you saved at the right moments (such as before you flew through the space debris). Fantastic games, but NG+ was definitely harder in them...

I'll pick it up for my PS5 Pro. My Series X is not worthy right now. Until Microsoft starts making better business decisions, my Xbox is sitting in a corner on time out. But who knows, we'll see what happens next year.

The achievement is called Untouchable, @DeadSpace. I had to look it up on TrueAchievements, but this is the description:

Play the game on Impossible difficulty. Impossible has the same difficulty as hard mode, where you take more damage and the enemies take less, but with a twist. You only have one save file to use (save whenever you like but no multiple saves) and if you die, you have to start from the very beginning (or continue on hard mode but this voids your achievement run). It cannot be started on a New Game Plus. Needless to say, some may struggle with it.

To be honest, I think I found the achievements in 2 and 3 where you could only save your game a total of 3 times just as difficult because as I say, it meant you had to push really deep into the game on the hardest difficulty before you saved. You had to time it just right because if you used all your saves too early, you had potentially had a lot of game to play through with no saves available. Plus there were some super tricky moments in (I think) both games where you sped trough space trying to avoid a debris field, where one contact and you were smithereens. Fun, but not fun!

Honestly, I'd love EA to remake all 3 games so I could stress myself out once more trying to get them all again...! 😂

@Fiendish-Beaver nice! Must be really hard to do it but I guess it's totally different experience. Stress like a hell! 😁 In this case you really try to survive.
It would be great if they remade at least the second one or both and improved the third one somehow.

I didn't mind the co-op in the third game, @DeadSpace, as I quite enjoyed going through it with a mate, although both of you hurtling through space trying to avoid space debris was pretty challenging because it restarted if one of you messed up, which was really easy to do.

What I would like, though, if they do remake the game, is for them to make the co-op only rooms, available to those that play solo too. I always thought it was disrespectful of the developers to lock solo players out of certain parts of the game because if you only wanted to play the game solo, you were paying for content you could not access. Other than that, the game was okay. Not as good as the first two, but still a decent game at heart.

That said, I would prefer a new entry to the series. Remake 2 by all means, but give us a third entry that feels more like the first two. I'd prefer that to a remake of the third game.

Unfortunately, I don't think the remake of the first game did well enough for EA, and so it is probable that the franchise is now dead...

I’ll be getting this game at some point, but waiting for a sale or price drop. Tough times at the moment.

Looks way too action-focused for a Silent Hill game in my opinion.
