@themightyant that’s what I was thinking, must be a number of people who have the lowest tier of game pass just to play online and so will lose those subscribers.
@Madnurz that’s exactly what happened to me. (Definitely agree about the name) I got to the checkout and as you said the price was higher so thought best to double check Shopto before pulling the trigger.
@Madnurz this is what I did a little earlier, extended it by six months so I’m covered til the end of next November. It worked out a couple of quid per voucher compared to Loaded.
@TheOldHunter4K I usually get the vouchers from loaded too. My game pass expires at the end of April. I might just get another years of vouchers now. Works out £145 cheaper than paying the new monthly fee for a year once my current subscription expires.
@Ricky-Spanish okay, I’ll play Old Country first and leave 3 until last. Haven’t heard many good things about 3 but it’ll still be good to give it a go and make my own opinion. I’m enjoying the story focused nature of the first two games so should enjoy Old Country at least even if I don’t like 3.
I’ll definitely get it, play Mafia definitive edition on game pass and really liked it so bought the trilogy when it was on sale for something like £8.99! About 3/4 of the way through Mafia 2 at the moment and enjoying it. As Old Country is about £35 on CD Keys I’m tempted to play it before I start the third game.
@FraserG unfortunately you have to these days, once you’ve updated a small handful of games you’ve lost the same amount of storage as what the games themselves were originally taking up! I assume it’s easiest to keep all the backwards compatible games on external hdd?
I’ve had my 1TB Series S and 1TB expansion card for a year and have about 22 games on it and 75 or 80% full I think.
@PsBoxSwitchOwner for me it’s definitely all about the price. Never had a PC or been too interested in getting one, I’ve always loved the console setup since the Sega Master System 2. PC seems complicated and therefore I suppose intimidating to me.
Unfortunately I fall into the category of PS players, probably got 400 odd digital PS4/5 games and 0 Steam games.
The Series S is my first Xbox and mainly use it for game pass. Would definitely be interested in trading it in for the next Xbox and upgrading my experience.
However if it’s going to be sold at £900 or something I might just have to get a Series X and enjoy it until the end of the next cross gen experience.
It will be interesting to see what the XBOX Ally X gets priced at as you can guarantee this machine will be priced higher…
I’m excited to see what this thing can do though, always love seeing the latest hardware and it seems to have peaked everyone’s interest on this site 😊
I’m not too interested in a handheld, like to play on the tv when at home especially the newest games with best graphics. Still have a 3DS if I do want to play games on the go.
The Series S is my first Xbox and got it a year ago. I definitely feel like I joined the Xbox community at the right time. Obviously we’re getting hit with bad news from time to time, but as far as the games they’re releasing and what’s coming to game pass it seems like they’re constantly gaining momentum and 2025 is a great year for Xbox games 😬
The new prices seem crazy in terms of value. 1TB Series S is £349.99 when I got my launch PS5 digital for £359.99, it’s also £90 cheaper than a digital Series X. Obviously Sony have since raised their prices and will no doubt again. Just makes you wonder how much value you’re getting out of the current gen consoles if you buy now.
Thankfully I got my 1TB Carbon Black Series S for £269.99 off Amazon last April/May time. I went with that option as I could pay Amazon over 3 months at 0% interest and was a moving in present to myself so didn’t want to use my savings as I wanted to spend the money on my house. I got the 1TB storage card for £114.99 again off Amazon the end of last year so my Series S with 2TB only cost £25 more than the new price for the 1TB model!
Thankfully I got two years worth of game pass vouchers off CD Keys for £160 last year. I earlier worked out if I had bought Forza H5, Indiana Jones, COD BO6 and Clair Obscur ex33 on my PS5 it would have cost £240…that doesn’t take into account I’ve also played Starfield, Forza Motorsport, COD MW3 and will download MW2.
My aim is just to stick to game pass games on Xbox and try and tackle my PlayStation backlog this year and maybe get GTA6. Everything else can wait til it’s discounted next year.

Re: Random: Xbox Fan Installs 1000 Games To See How Much Storage Space They Take Up
I haven’t checked my PS5 recently, but I noticed my 1TB Series with 1TB expansion card has 25 games on it and just under 10%/ 165GB free I think.

@Kaloudz good spot…they must have about 6TB of storage in total 😳😂

@PsBoxSwitchOwner that’s what I was thinking and worried about.
Those kind of prices will price a lot of people out imo.
