This was my favorite game of 2024 & can't recommend it enough, it can be pretty tough at some points but I don't think it's as hard as a Souls game, I think it can very much be a gateway drug to Souls games, same with Stellar Blade.
Such a good game, probably my favorite this year. If you like Souls-likes & don't mind a challenge, you'll love it. It's very similar to 2018 God of War imo
I honestly wish all games were non-exclusive because I'm a consumer. So I honestly don't understand why consumers would want any software to be exclusive unless they're attaching their identity to whatever box they play games on.
@themightyant I don't think any lines were crossed legally though whether the designs are similar or not. Just judging by similar things in comic books where there are proxy characters or parodies of major superheroes in indie comics, where the character designs are exactly the same outside of a couple differences, I don't think Palworld did anything wrong here nor do I think a line was crossed. It's a knock off for sure but knock offs aren't illegal nor morally objectionable imo.
@BacklogBrad also, it's only 1-2 hours played because that's literally the length of the game. So they definitely played the game to completion. All of their games outside of Stay Out of The House, are 1-2 hour experiences, some have replayability. You have no idea what you're talking about, you're literally just choosing to call a game trash based on your personal bias. Puppet Combo is probably the most beloved Indie horror developer there is, along with Chilla Art & Dreadxp (they're a publisher not a dev).
Also, if you couldn't tell, it's satire of 80's horror. His Christmas tree told him to murder people. It's a joke. If you don't like 80's horror/slasher movies that's fine but please stop with fake outrage over murdering npc voxel people. It's not a realistic game in any measure.
@BacklogBrad for everyone saying this game is trash, Puppet Combo has one of the best reputations for PS1 aesthetic horror games/indie horror games. On PC, Puppet Combo is beloved for these titles. Definitely not trash nor shovel ware. These are very well made games particularly the recent releases. They are in no way shovel ware, which implies it's just put out with no regard to it's quality. If you like horror games & play on PC, you probably know Puppet Combo. All of the top YouTube lets players like Markiplier, Jacksepticeye, and Cory Kenshin, with billions of views between them, all play Puppet Combo games they minute they come out.
Yeah this was the one TMNT comic I've read in the last decade. They had a pretty decent normal series through IDW but The Last Ronin was the first thing they've done in forever that felt "different" and wasn't targeted at children. Great concept for a game & I'm glad Nickelodeon is allowing TMNT content out that is targeted at the fans who've grown up.
Man, the whole thing with this game & the devs is crazy. I tried to play Ark because I have a friend who's really into it & I just couldn't do it. On Series X it ran soooooo bad. It was so blurry and the animations for the animals were just terrible, they moved mechanically. I'm not a graphics snob but I have SOME standards, I just couldn't do it. If this ends up being decent I might get it to play with him but I have zero faith in it at this point.
AEW is my favorite wrestling company and I've been anticipating this for a long time. I'll be playing this Day 1 and I hope it goes well because this looks like a great foundation for future games. But it looks like it does exactly what it set out to do.
Definitely want to try NFS out and FIST is pretty good, I played it on PS5. For some reason I thought Bramble was already on GP but I guess I was mistaken
This game has some of the best tech of any game on the market. Everything is destructible and it's the one of the best uses of ray tracing I've seen, so it's really cool it's coming to consoles. I just really hope it's well optimized.
@Banjo- that video is about PS3/360 performance, it's a retro review. It's not about how it runs on Series X. If that's the video he's talking about "below 720p" on 360 won't apply to the Series X version, the Series X will brute force stable resolution & stable frame rates even on back compat games with no enhancements.
@Banjo- I really hope you don't pay for Far Cry 3 classic edition. Google it and you'll see what general consensus is. I just can't pay them for a cash grab like that. I'd rather play at 720p/60fps than 1440p/30fps, but that's me. It depends what matters more to you, better resolution or twice the performance. If you watch the DF video on Classic Edition, you'll see it's only like a 10 minute video for all 4 consoles because there's literally almost nothing to cover, because they basically did nothing to remaster it.
@Nintendo4Sonic pretty sure even digital foundry would say 60fps is better than 1440p. They're the first people to tell you resolution is meaning less & less in this day & age but performance is everything. It's an embarrassing "remaster" which DF definitely said in their video you're referring to & did not praise it in any way. It clearly had the hardware even on last gen to run at 60fps & high fidelity. "Improved detail & draw distance" which translates to "we literally did nothing to remaster this game other than repackage the PC version at 30fps" and market it as a remaster. It's one of the worst kind of practices in gaming & is disingenuous at best. Same thing with the Blood Dragon remaster which was the exact same crap port..If you got Far Cry 3 CE through the Far Cry 5 DLC, I get it, but if you defend & buy garbage remasters like that, we'll just keep getting them. I'll buy the original games at lower resolution all day rather than pay them for doing nothing. If you wanna play some real remasters play Saints Row 3, Bioshock Trilogy, Mass Effect LE, Crash N-Sane Trilogy, or Spyro Re-ignited. All great work that should be examples of what a remaster/re-release should be.
I'll say this about 5 too, just because you add mechanics & polish doesn't necessarily make it better. It seems like I like the second & third games the most for reasons completely different from most people in these comments, really nothing to do with the mechanics. Far Cry 5 has some problems outside of typical "just busy work" Ubisoft stuff, like it's ending which just makes you buy some spin off game that's not DLC to actually finish the story in a satisfying way. I never finished that game but I've heard many friends discuss the ending and how weird it was. Idk how good the story is but it seemed pretty decent before I fell off of it, it does seem like it's the least memorable villain in the series between 3-6 though. Vas, Troy Baker, and Giancarlo are all talked about pretty highly even if people don't like the actual game they're in.
Farcry 2/3 I like more than the modern games because of the atmosphere & the dirtiness of them, they feel like you're playing an old exploitation movie, they feel kinda gritty & grimy. They're not super polished AAA games as much as the new ones are, so that kinda adds to the old VHS feel. Modern Farcry games are more akin to Fast & The Furious where 2 felt like Apocalypse Now & 3 felt like idk....Commando. Far Cry Blood Dragon took that aesthetic to it's zenith but the first trilogy really are similar VHS movie vibes & production values that contribute to that. The new games have tried hard to recreate that but it's hard to do with new tech & HD resolution. I couldn't really get into 6 but may go back to it, it had a cool vibe it just was too much stuff & you gotta hook me hard to get me to commit that much time to your game. Honestly that what ends up turning me off of playing almost any modern Ubisoft game, I always end up putting 20-30 hours in & getting disinterested even though I want to finish the modern AC trilogy especially Odyssey because the DLC looks so cool. The modern Far Cry trilogy, I've started all of them & done the same thing & never gone back. I'd like to try out 5 with the Series X additions though.
I'm jumping between BOTW in prep for TOTK, Jedi Survivor, and Mass Effect Legendary Edition. I made it through 1 for the first time and now I've made it to ME2, which will be my second playthrough, I played 2 & 3 on PS3 back when they released and all I can say is I'm super impressed by the remastering job. It has to be one of the best remasters I've ever played & it looks amazing on Series X, especially with the HDR tuned right. I was blown away by how good it looks for a game over a decade old. It's hard to stop playing it to catch up for TOTK. I'm really looking forward to seeing their remastering of ME3, it was the best looking then & if it's as good as ME2's upgrades, I applaud the effort & time they've put into these. ME3's combat was always my favorite & I actually played quite a lot of the multiplayer maps they used to have. It's disappointing those aren't included but not surprising, now that I think of it, I'm wondering if the maps still work on the original version that's on GP. If anyone knows, please lmk!
I'd also really like to dive in to the Metal Gear Solid HD collection that I bought physical, I never got to play those when they released. It's just hard to find the time!
Was super excited excited for it and picked it up. I'm playing in performance mode and there's been some dips in the open world portion but nothing that's really effected my enjoyment. I don't think I could play this game in quality mode with the parrying & combat how it is. They really built an amazing world with this game, it's impressive to just look at. But yeah the performance dips can be annoying aren't anything like Pokemon SV or BOTW, I've not had any during combat really which would be a deal breaker, just exploring the open world particularly when you first enter it. Also certain doors in the hub world taking a few seconds made me chuckle a bit. I've only had one crash so far and it was after 6-7 hours. We'll see how it fares further into the game.
@tkdboy1889 I didn't say Yukes was an upstart, I said AEW is and they recruited Yuke's (the devs.) My point was, they don't have the budget that WWE or 2K has, so regardless of what games Yukes has developed in the past, this game doesn't have the same money behind it as any of their WWE games. I'm not sure why you attributed what I said about AEW to being about Yuke's, it's quite clear I was speaking about AEW & their budget towards this game & why it needs to be successful for them. If it loses money or comes out broken, they're done. Then we'll be stuck with just the 2K games which I'd prefer not be the case.
And you say AEW promised a 2022 release date....did they? I never once remember an official announcement of a date or anything like that. There's been "we're shooting for..." but besides that it's been all rumor. There's been a couple interview samples with people asking people like Tony Khan who literally have zero involvement with the development and expect him to answer questions about it like he is.
I just think you're looking at this from a perspective of this being a game with the resources & budget of a WWE produced game and it's just nowhere near close to that.
People need to stop complaining about wanting a game. I want a GREAT game. I want what they're advertising, I don't want a WWE2K20 fiasco, remember that? Is that what you want for AEW's first game? So they'll fail dramatically and never get the chance to make another because it loses a crap ton of money? This isn't a game with WWE & 2K, companies with billions of dollars. This is from an upstart company who literally recruited these devs and made a passion project. I want a sequel and this to be franchise, so however long it takes, I'm cool with because I don't wait it to fail.
This looks really different and interesting. I'm all for new IP and stuff like this from a AAA publisher, I'm so used to them just relying on franchises that are proven commodities. I'm definitely going to keep an eye out for this.
I'm just so happy this exists, if it ends up being good, I'm definitely buying it. I loved Robocop growing up & appreciate it more now that I've grown up. I loved his cameo in MK11 & this looks like it could be a real hoot if it plays well.
I'm not going to comment on the people above who are getting all in their feelings over some DLC for a game they likely didn't buy or play & are just getting upset because they felt personally insulted by a smaller studio leaving DLC off of Xbox because they're couldn't possibly be a reasonable explanation other than it being done to personally insult the console & it's users.
That would be so impractical to actually own, think about having that in your entertainment center or next to your monitor. Cool collector's item though, it'll surely sell for some crazy price.
Even though it's on Game Pass, I'll probably buy this physically, if the game is actually on the disc. I know I'll buy the DLC too. I'm playing through Outer Worlds & Fallout 4, so I'm really looking forward to this. I know some people don't like FO4 but I'm enjoying it for what it is. It's nothing amazing but it's got really great side quests & it's a surprisingly good FPS. So I'm really glad we got the release date & we know when it's coming out.....I'm super hype for it. Starfield, Redfall, Spider-Man 2, FF16, Resident Evil 4, Street Fighter 6.....this year is shaping up to be a great one.
I bought Red Faction Guerrilla Remastered & Saints Row The Third Remastered. Never played Red Faction but heard it's got some great destructible environments. The more I play games from the late-2000's/early 2010's he more I'm reminded how there aren't a lot of AA games or games that try different things anymore.
Soul Hackers 2 is a big W! I've thought about picking it up several times, so I'll definitely be giving it a shot on GP. GP has lost a few really good JRPGs recently, so it's cool they're adding others to fill the void.
I want to play HI-FI Rush, I have it downloaded but I'm hooked on Dead Space. As a fan of the original, I absolutely love it. It's up there with Resident Evil 2 Remake, it's got that perfect balance of respecting the original & making smart changes for QOL.
Other than that, I've almost finished Deathloop, I've gotten all 5 legendary weapons, fully upgraded the Nexus & Switch slabs, completed all the Visionary leads outside of Fia's & the archivist. I've been getting stuck on Fia because any time you get spotted, she triggers the reactor & kills everyone. So trying to finish that one.
Also, a few weeks ago I started Fallout 4 for the first time after revisiting New Vegas. Fallout 4 took over my life for about two weeks, so I'm sure I'll get back into it & knock out some quests to level up some perks.
Saturday night, tonight, I'll be playing Dead Space on TV while the ROYAL RUMBLE is on my computer screen. Favorite WWE show every year!
@Nintendo4Sonic same! Exact same situation actually. So all this is super confusing to me, I started a new game (first time player) and now idk if it's actually updated or if it just says it is on my console. It was originally downloaded to my external HDD & it then updated/upgraded to the X/S version & installed to my internal SSD. So I just don't know what to think about all this.
Yeah, for console, 4K/60 is impressive and I'm happy with that. I have a PC & monitor that can play it at higher FPS but I've found I prefer to just sit on my couch & play on my TV, which is a 4K/60 TV. I don't like sitting at my desk to play games as much as I like just chilling on my couch or in my gaming chair in front of the TV. I could get higher FPS on certain games by hooking my consoles up to my monitor but I'm not going to do that. If I can play 60fps on my couch, I'll take that over higher fps at my desk.

This looks really different and interesting. I'm all for new IP and stuff like this from a AAA publisher, I'm so used to them just relying on franchises that are proven commodities. I'm definitely going to keep an eye out for this.
Re: Redfall Will Only Run At 30FPS When It Launches On Xbox Series X And S
I'll wait for 60fps. 60fps is near mandatory for FPS, I'm honestly shocked that it's shipping without it. Weird.
Re: Resident Evil 4 Update Improves Dead Zone & Frame Rates On Xbox Series X|S
Super thankful for the controls being fixed, I can actually do the shooting gallery without low-key rage quitting
Re: Xbox Makes Changes To Microsoft Rewards Following 'Tracking' Issues
Yeah I'm miffed that it won't let me redeem the $50 dollars I spent on RE4 for the bonus 2500 points. It's kinda ridiculous
Re: 'Not Playable On This Device' Message Causes Havoc On The Xbox Store
Yeah it came up for me when I purchased Dead Cells Return to Castlevania, I figured it was just a bug & it installed just fine. Strange though
Re: Robocop: Rogue City Is Officially Heading To Xbox In September 2023
I'm just so happy this exists, if it ends up being good, I'm definitely buying it. I loved Robocop growing up & appreciate it more now that I've grown up. I loved his cameo in MK11 & this looks like it could be a real hoot if it plays well.
I'm not going to comment on the people above who are getting all in their feelings over some DLC for a game they likely didn't buy or play & are just getting upset because they felt personally insulted by a smaller studio leaving DLC off of Xbox because they're couldn't possibly be a reasonable explanation other than it being done to personally insult the console & it's users.

Re: Random: The New 'Oreo Xbox Series S' Looks Absolutely Crazy In Person
That would be so impractical to actually own, think about having that in your entertainment center or next to your monitor. Cool collector's item though, it'll surely sell for some crazy price.
Re: Starfield's Launch Date Trailer Features Some Sneak Peeks At New Gameplay
Re: Deals: Lots Of Games Reduced By 90% In March's Xbox Super Saver Sale
I bought Red Faction Guerrilla Remastered & Saints Row The Third Remastered. Never played Red Faction but heard it's got some great destructible environments. The more I play games from the late-2000's/early 2010's he more I'm reminded how there aren't a lot of AA games or games that try different things anymore.
Re: These Four Games Are Coming To Xbox Game Pass (February 28 - March 3)
Soul Hackers 2 is a big W! I've thought about picking it up several times, so I'll definitely be giving it a shot on GP. GP has lost a few really good JRPGs recently, so it's cool they're adding others to fill the void.
Re: AI-Generated Bethesda 'Leaks' Give Us A Glimpse Into A Scary Future
I don't find it scary, really. I think it's a bit amusing and just makes clear that journalists and reporters will need to use due diligence.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (January 28-29)
Re: Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Has Been Suffering Major Issues On Xbox Series X|S
@Nintendo4Sonic same! Exact same situation actually. So all this is super confusing to me, I started a new game (first time player) and now idk if it's actually updated or if it just says it is on my console. It was originally downloaded to my external HDD & it then updated/upgraded to the X/S version & installed to my internal SSD. So I just don't know what to think about all this.
Re: 'Atomic Heart' Dev Shares Next-Gen Performance Targets Ahead Of Game Pass Launch
Re: Our Top Deals From The Xbox 'Last Chance' Sale
I bought Vanquish finally, bought Spec Ops: The Line, & Fallout New Vegas DLC packs.
Re: Poll: Are You Happy With January 2023's Xbox Games With Gold?
Lol do you even need to ask this question
