Cuphead instantly caught the attention of many back in 2017 with its unique, retro-cartoon graphics, and thankfully it had the side-scrolling gameplay chops to back it up. Well, a new title from developer Fumi Games is hoping it can capture the imagination of players in a similar fashion - but this one will meld a similar visual style with a first-person shooter.

We've dropped an early teaser trailer for Mouse up above, with the game very much still a work-in-progress right now. Even at this early stage, the team has revealed that PC, Xbox and Nintendo Switch are the target platforms for this one - but the game's release date is still very much 'TBA'.

"Join private detective John Mouston in MOUSE, a gritty, jazz-fueled shooter. With guns blazing and a retro rubber hose animation style, battle your way through a corrupt city full of crooks and danger. Inspired by classic FPS and noir films, MOUSE is the explosive shooter you’ve been waiting for."

This kind of visual style is instantly eye-catching we must admit, and we're curious to see how the action would unfold as an FPS here. There are shades of early DOOM in this teaser trailer, which has us very excited indeed!

Here are a few early screenshots for Mouse, which is now available to wishlist on Steam.
