Xbox Begins Public Rollout Of Steam & Other Storefronts On PC App

A few months ago, we mentioned that Xbox had officially added Steam integration via a new PC app feature, but at the time they were limiting it to just Windows Insider members.

That's now about to change though, as Xbox Wire is advertising that the public rollout has begun for all users, meaning we'll soon all be able to access our Steam games, as well as games from other storefronts, on the Xbox PC app.

This is part of something they're calling the "aggregated gaming library", and it's being added right now to provide extra convenience for ROG Xbox Ally owners when that device launches in October.

"Bring your game collection together with the new aggregated gaming library that shows your installed games from multiple PC storefronts, including your Xbox library, Xbox Game Pass, Battle.net and other leading PC storefronts, making it easier than ever to access your games in one place, whether you’re on a Windows PC or handheld device."

"When you install a game from a supported PC storefront, it automatically appears in “My Library” within the Xbox PC app, as well as the “Most Recent” list of titles in the sidebar, so you can jump back into your favorite games with just a click."

In addition to this, we'll also be getting a new "My Apps" category on the Xbox PC app featuring storefronts and third-party apps that don't require you to browse your desktop, which again is targeted at PC handheld users in particular.

And finally, later in September, you'll be able to see your cloud-playable games and game play history across all Xbox devices, making it easier to identify cloud-supported titles and jump back into titles you've recently been playing.

"Coming later in September your cloud-playable games and game play history will follow you across all your devices."

As mentioned, the public rollout has begun for most of these features on the Xbox PC app already, although it's been advised that said rollout will last for the "next few weeks" - so don't panic if you're not seeing your Steam games just yet.
