The Coalition Appears To Be On A Hiring Spree For The Next 'Gears'

Im ready for this ! Hope it has been in development for a few years

They didn’t hire anyone from the Metroid Prime 4 team, did they? Please let them finish their game first….

I wouldn't be surprised if the next gears game appears at the summer showcase this year. Maybe just a cinematic tease.

It should be pointed out that it doesn't necessarily mean that the game is just now entering a certain point of development because of these hires.

Corporations are often in a hiring freeze for the last few months of a year. This is to ensure that they dont go over budget and they want to make their end of year numbers as string as possible. So a slew of hires early in the new year is not uncommon.

Awesome! That means Gears 6 is probably a mere five years away. Here's to 2029!

It’s been five years later this year since Gears 5
Have they been sleeping all this time?

We should be looking at release this year or at the latest 2025. Does no one manage developers nowadays with project plans, micro management and milestones etc.

It seems since Covid it’s all gone a bit, development takes ages, see you all in 8 years time with our game.
Developing a game is a collaborative process and all this piss arse hybrid working and working from home since Covid really hasn’t helped the process.
It’s funny before covid when everyone was in the office collaborative working together and being managed, we seemed to get the games and also the games in a lot better condition when they released, not requiring god knows how many update patches for the next 6 months.

I sound harsh, but game development has definitely taken a nose dive since covid.

Just hoping it's not Gears of Moody Kait again! 1, 2, 3, 4 and Hivebusters are the ones I loved.

I have just worked out if the coalition has 300 employees but I think it has more.
But based on 300 employees on an average week and taking into account holiday.
Since gears 5 release come this October so 5 years the company have had 3 million persons hours of work in total.
That’s a lot of persons hours to not release gears 6 this year.

On a serious note, I did hear there was other projects a couple I think they put a lot of hours into that got cancelled, so there is waste of persons hours and hundreds of thousands of pounds.

Don’t get me wrong Xboxers Gears of war is in my top 3 Xbox series of games and have enjoyed everyone.

The gears franchise is also in my top 5 across all platforms of game franchise.

So I’m impatient and get the arse when it takes ages and ages to give us gears 6.

yikes. this is bad news. im getting to a point in life where im not having enough time to play video games anymore like i did when i was a kid/teen. waiting almost a decade for new AAA games really sucks

Gears 5 was a snoozefest and clunky movement is terrible in this day and age. If they make another they'll have update it because it just doesn't cut it anymore.

I can see this getting a reception similar to the new Saints Row, sadly.

I bet the campain is in good shape. I imagine they need to hire for whatever live service mulitplayer junk they are going to throw in.

It’s a good point they have enough to deal with making the game for series s and x and PC and cloud stuff.
Just let them put all resources on making the best single player campaign gears of war we have ever seen all using unreal 5 and showing us what the powerful series x can really do.

Gears Tactics only came out in 2020 and it was awesome. Hivebusters was also end of 2020. I do think we will see this at the summer showcase though; along with ID’s game.

I think 5 was better than 4 but just doesn’t need the open world. Yet I feel like we will get it regardless… still will be awesome though.

I wouldn't mind another Tactics game to hold us over till Gears 6

@OldGamer999 TC was busy updating Gears 5 for next gen consoles, released new story DLC, was working on The Matrix Awakens, was working on a new IP (canceled), and had to wait for UE5 to release officially... They haven't just been sitting there twiddling their thumbs.

EDIT: They also had to deal with the lost of Rod which was kind important since he was the guy who in charge of Gears, so moving forward with Gears 6 isn't an easy task without him.

I am so ready for more Gears of War. It’s my favorite series under the Xbox umbrella.

I would love to see the much rumoured Marcus Fenix remasters released as a shadow-drop during next weeks Xbox Showcase, and also announcements of both Gear 6 and Gears Tactics 2. When Gears 4 and 5 were announced they didn't release until about 15 months later. So we need that announcement of Gears 6 asap, just so we know that the game will release sometime middle to late next year.

The original trilogy remaster should come out this year it deserves a remaster/remake and gears 6 next year no open world either return to the original trilogy vibe

Does anyone know what they've been up to? Gears 5 came out in 2019 right? They haven't said anything for almost 5 years. If they are just now gearing up for Gears 6, what have they been doing the last 4 years?
