Re: Sony Exec Suggests PS5 Is Far From Finished, And It's Likely The Same For Xbox Series X|S

Certainly unlikely for them to give up on the Series X? What? They have already given up on it. unclear console strategy, no exclusives. I hate to admit but they have given up already. I haven’t bought a Xbox game since Alan Wake 2 in 2023 and don’t see that changing soon, all my new game purchases are on PS5 and Nintendo, while I only use Xbox from my legacy library and my prepaid gamepass subscription, which is valid until 2028 (which was the right move given recent events). I have zero faith on Microsoft and investing anything on their platform, they don’t seem to prioritize it so why would I?

@oopsiezz If xbox had to put game on Playstation so that the Xbox division was profitable, that's on them, not us. We're just taking advantage of a subscription THEY offer, and is one of the few good deals left for consumers in gaming (and frankly one of two reasons why I retain my Xbox Series X, along with my legacy library). Can't blame the consumer for using a subscription we pay for. I buy games for my PS5 Pro, but for games available on Game Pass, I play them using my subscription, even if the PS5 Pro could give me better graphics.

Re: Microsoft Shares Updated 'Xbox Play Anywhere' Games List As It Unifies Console & PC

@IOI Exactly this. Xbox used to be my platform of choice for multiplatform. However, since last year that changed and I haven't bought a single title for Xbox. Only use it for my GamePass subscription and library, but all my new software purchase are done on my PS5 Pro. Alan Wake 2 was my last purchased Xbox game. Sad, as Xbox was my preferred platform for years.

Re: Poll: What Do You Think Of 'Balatro' On Xbox Game Pass So Far?

I played this a few times in my iPhone and iPad. It was entertaining I guess if I have no access to anything better, but I didn’t get all the fuss about it. If I’m sitting on my Xbox, I’d rather play any other game over it. For me it’s just a mobile time killer, nothing more or less.

Re: Xbox Is Set Up For A 'Bright' Future, Suggests Industry Analyst

@Secryt LOL, well if Microsoft doesn't prioritize their own platform, why should we, right?
That said, GamePass proved to be tremendous value over the last couple of months, I enjoyed the Black Ops 6 Campaign (my first Call of Duty game in probably a decade), STALKER 2 is great and of course Indy is incredible.

Re: Xbox Is Set Up For A 'Bright' Future, Suggests Industry Analyst

I have no doubt it is bright as a brand - Call of Duty by itself will secure that, and as long as they put out quality titles like Indy they'll do fine.

What is disappointing is that the console is definitely become a side collateral. I used to buy all my multiplatforms on Xbox while I would have my PS5 exclusively for Sony exclusives. Given that the console doesn't seem to be at the top of their priority list, this year I haven't bought a single game on Xbox - all of my purchases were done on PS5 including multiplatform (DD2, DA Veilguard, etc) which I would have otherwise bought on Xbox. Why invest on a platform that is no longer Microsoft's priority? It will continue being my GamePass machine, which is all paid up until mid 2027, but for actually purchasing, my money will go to Sony (even if I decide I want to buy Microsoft games like Indy, I would do it on PS5 despite enjoying it on GamePass).

@Bigmanfan Really? The combat is really a highlight for me. Very refreshing sneaking through nazi camps picking shovels or whatever you can find to knock them out. Whenever I find a new nazi camp I know I'm in for a fun time and even try random things like making sure I alert them then running and kill them from a strategic location or so on.

Re: Reaction: We're Conflicted About Xbox Exclusives Potentially Going To PS5

Casco

I have posted this elsewhere, but my take is this:
1. I don't see them exiting hardware at all. I think they'll continue to sell Xbox consoles for the foreseeable future.
2. They'll make most games multiplatform - but with a caveat. They'll be timed exclusive and on Gamepass day 1. This way if you want to play on release, you have to either get an Xbox or PC. Or you can wait for it to be available on the Playstation or Switch successor, at full price, a few months later. This way, there is still an incentive to own an Xbox (included in the subscription and day 1) yet the take the revenue from the other platforms.

Re: The Biggest Xbox Games To Look Forward To In December 2023

@Altaria_97 Across all systems it is one of the strongest years I can remember. Dead Space Remake, Hogwarts Legacy, Metroid Prime Remastered, Resident Evil 4 Remake, Jedi: Survivor, Tears of the Kingdom, Final Fantasy 16, Starfield, Spider-man 2, Super Mario Wonder are all great games that I have thoroughly enjoyed, I am not even mentioning Baldur´s Gate 3 as it is not my type of game, but most people rate as excellent.
