Re: Gears Of War: Reloaded's Latest Update Adds Important 120FPS Fix For Xbox Series X|S

Camble_Refuge

All these fixes are all well and good, but there are issues that need to be addressed for players that wish to team op with friends on the way to seriously. So far, only the team leader is getting progress towards Kills, wins and other things as far as trophies on PS5 are concerned. I was an Xbox gamer when the game was on 360, it worked a lot better than this release has in respects to progress..

Re: Talking Point: So, What Other PS5 Games Do You Want To See Come To Xbox?

Camble_Refuge

I can’t believe it when I read that “Sony will be taking note of how much money Microsoft is making selling games on PlayStation and they will follow suit”. Of course Microsoft is making money sellling games on PlayStation, they have cultured their fans to not buy games on Xbox anymore, instead a vast amount of people use that “FREE” Gamepass service instead. So, selling a game on a console that people actually buy games on is of course gonna make money. So, Sony has already made way more money thanks to them not using an unsustainable practice like GamePass. Releasing all Sony first party games on Xbox won’t sell or make astronomical numbers, because if it’s anything like when Helldivers was announced, people were like “not on Gamepass, so I won’t bother”. Only games worthwhile putting onto Xbox will be GaaS. That will work because of the cheaper option to the usual AAA games that Xbox fans don’t want to spend any money on.

Re: Former Xbox Dev Claims Turn 10's Forza Motorsport Team 'Is No More'

With each passing days news, it’s more and more evident that GamePass is a complete mess for Microsoft. They banked on getting a 100 million subscribers on Gamepass, they spent big to do this and it’s just not worked for them. When you are putting out games that are AAA level and not charging properly for it, with everything going day and date to a subscription platform, of course it’s going to result in things like this happening.$70 odd billion dollars has to be made back somehow. A game worth $69.99 going to game pass means that they have lost millions upon millions in sales revenue on their own platform. The Gamepass charges are spread across the whole platform, so when a big AAA hits the service, the monthly sub paid by everyone isn’t covering the costs at all. And turning to PlayStation fans isn’t going to work either really. Apart from Forza horizons and Sea of thieves, nothing has really sold massively on the console. And with Microsoft upping their prices to $80 a game, it’s going to make selling on PlayStation even less of a guarantee. Hell, the games that are getting released on PlayStation are not even on the discs… what are people really paying for? All the Xbox fans who gloated about PlayStation players basically subsidising Xbox studios so that they could reinvest in new games for gamepass need their heads looked into. Microsoft isn’t a charity, they want money. And unfortunately they aren’t seeing money like they anticipated. Really great games are getting cancelled. Studios shut down and everything in between is a total mess. And all we have is Phil Spencer coming out telling everyone about hard times when the parent company is taking in billions a quarter. The way this is going, all that’s going to be left is COD.. everything else just won’t make money back like Microsoft intended. Worst thing that Microsoft ever did was buying publishers like Activision.. If Microsoft can somehow streamline Gamepass, things might improve short term. They have an incredible catalogue of games that they could put on the service and have literally only games form their studios on the device. Not paying 3rd party developers money to put their games on Gamepass will likely drop the value of the service for gamers, but it’s unsustainable as it is right now anyway. Forza is one of my most favourite IPs. To see the news today is absolutely awful. But since PlayStation has Gran Turismo, there is no need for motorsports to go multiplatform and that is probably why it’s done as an Ip outside of Horizons, which is shocking really.

Re: New Death Stranding Record Hints At Potential Of PS5 Ports On Xbox

Camble_Refuge

If Microsoft gets HUGE sales on PlayStation thanks to going 3rd party, Sony will still pocket 30% for everything sold on the console. With the fact that they would not sell massively on Xbox thanks to the Gamepass culture, they will get just as much money from Microsoft releasing games on PlayStation than releasing games on Xbox themselves.

Re: Xbox Handheld: Everything We Know So Far, Including The Latest Rumours

Camble_Refuge

Everything’s an Xbox, isn’t it? So my guess is that the Xbox handheld conveniently releases on the very day that the Switch 2 arrives!! 😅 Honestly though, I think that would actually have been a great idea, let Nintendo do what they do best and broker a deal to allow a Microsoft only Gamepass on to the system because I just don’t see an Xbox themed console doing too much nowadays unfortunately.

Re: Soapbox: Forza Horizon 4 Hosted The Best Racing In The Series, And I'll Be Sad To See It Go

Camble_Refuge

I don’t subscribe to GamePass continuously, only choosing to pay for a months usage when a game gets released on the service that I like, but I always stick around for the month after playing whichever game brought me back to play Forza Horizon 4. It’s easily my favourite game in the series and although I have it physically, I’ll be very sad to see it go from digital.

Re: Reaction: Xbox & Nintendo Continue To Deliver With Major Summer Showcases

Camble_Refuge

Both great shows for sure! One show was done by a market leader who has cultivated the games they have shown through building talent from years of experience, channelling into what gamers deserve by creating games based on lovable franchises that they created. The other show was by an industry player that simply bought everything they could to try to stay relevant.

Re: DOOM: The Dark Ages Confirmed As A Day One PS5 Release In 2025

Camble_Refuge

I thought that this actually should have had an announcement stating that this was also on PlayStation 5 on day one. Now before anyone says that this is an Xbox Event and it has no place to be spoken about, this is the first event that Microsoft have had since they started porting Xbox games to PlayStation and they should at least let people who probably tuned in that watched that were Sony fans know what games they could expect on their consoles too! They also should have announced that the new Season of Sea of Thieves was on PlayStation aswell. I guess they will learn with time that they don’t have to worry about making announcements on where their games will end up since this is a new direction for Microsoft, but clarity when it’s from their own studios would definitely help as it won’t do them any damage to let us know what’s what. When they are showing games that are from 3rd party publishers, by all means leave the PlayStation name off, exactly as Sony would do, but always advertise your own games to the fans that ultimately can play them on PlayStation.

@GameOverScreen Not too sure that I tagged you in my original comment, you took that very much to heart, but i am so very glad that you buy games and play games the way you want.. But, you go and have a look at 90% of the last comment sections for the whole of 2023 regarding game releases and the “I’ll wait until it’s on GamePass” comment is everywhere. So, you do you and I’ll keep my original opinion as it was, cause end of the day it’s an opinion, and amazingly I shared my opinion on a comments section. Gasp! 😱

Re: Xbox's Matt Booty Suggests Hellblade 2 Will 'Come Later' In 2024

Camble_Refuge

Although I am looking forward to seeing more about Hellblade 2, I genuinely don’t think it’s going to be a huge system seller at all. It just seems that everything is plateau for Xbox right now and even big hitters like Bethesda didn’t do too much to change the presidence. I personably would not be surprised in the least if the Series X ends up being Microsoft’s last console and GamePass ends up on switch 2 and PS5/6. Microsoft wouldn’t have the GamePass formula they use right now, whereby they go out and pay for developers to add games to their service, they will just use their own owned IPs on the service, thus negating the need to pay for games to be added to the service and they will just use the huge amount of games they now own to offer a service on the other rival platforms. Unless they either buy out PlayStation and Nintendo, or literally buy most of the industry, the way gaming is going isn’t going to change at all, people prefer PlayStation and Nintendo and with the 10 year deal in place, people aren’t going to benefit in going over to Xbox for COD. FIFA will still smash the numbers out, fortnite will dominate and GTA 6 will skyrocket, but since these are what most casual gamers want to play, it really isn’t going to make too much sense to shift over to Xbox as they are available on PlayStation. Which brings me back to the point that although Hellblade looks amazing in the videos that have been shown, GamePass will allow most people that are interested in it to try it for 5 minutes only to go back to Fifa, COD and Fortnite as soon as they have tried it, leaving Microsoft to champion the members of people that played it on day one.

Re: Xbox Head Thanks Bethesda Veteran Pete Hines For His Services

Camble_Refuge

I think it’s safe to say that Pete Hines has had 22 enjoyable years at Bethesda, but 2 years was all he could take with Microsoft hanging over him. The leaked emails certainly shows he was more than displeased at the differences between the Activision stance and Bethesda stance when it comes to games on other platforms being exclusive or not, so this is really not a surprise. This happens a lot with acquisitions made by Microsoft where key members of the teams in question leave, just look at Tango Games and Playground as very clear examples of senior figures moving on. Pete is only 54. That is literally nothing and unless he has an undisclosed health issue to address, hopefully not of course, I would not be surprised if he was working elsewhere in the industry very soon and probably with a team that still had is independence.

Re: FTC Continues To Challenge Xbox's Takeover Of Activision Blizzard

Camble_Refuge

@sheldonlufc Honestly, it’s statements like this that show how naive people really are. You would actually want Sony out of the industry and leave Microsoft to Literally destroyed it with zero competition? Amazing. I can only assume that you don’t buy games and just hang on every month to get games on GamePass… Well, if Microsoft were all powerful, the games on GamePass would be sorely lacking any kind of content. No matter what anyone thinks, this industry needs strong competitors. It’s what keeps innovation and that is only good for gamers. Honestly, some people…And “Microsoft is for the people, not itself” are you serious? That statement is one of the most deluded that I think I have ever read! 😂
