There's obviously a renewed question of how Xbox exclusives will play into all of this as well, with Asha Sharma and Matt Booty making it clear that they're planning to deliver Xbox exclusives on a yearly basis in the future.
They recently said they'd honour existing deals such as the one with Halo: Campaign Evolved on PS5, but games such as Fallout 5 and The Elder Scrolls IV have never been formally announced for any platforms, and obviously we're only just learning of Fallout 3 Remastered, Fallout: New Vegas Remastered and Obsidian's Fallout game.
Unsurprisingly though, Bethesda's Todd Howard doesn't really want to address the topic right now. He was directly questioned about whether Fallout 5 and The Elder Scrolls IV could be Xbox exclusives by Windows Central, but said it was too early to comment.
"I asked Todd Howard if The Elder Scrolls VI or Fallout 5 would be going exclusive to Xbox, given Xbox CEO Asha Sharma's mandate to grow the Xbox hardware ecosystem. He said it was too early to comment."
Howard also wasn't able to share a timeline for The Elder Scrolls IV or an engine for Obsidian's Fallout game during the chat, but did talk a bit more about the partnership with the studio along with the challenges of the Xbox layoffs.
In regards to the Obsidian game, he says everyone involved is "super excited" to be working together:
"We're always kind of wondering if we could find a way to work together in the right way. And when those things come up, I think I definitely look at the franchise all up, as you see in the note, everything that's kind of happening with Fallout. You sort of say, is there a way or a window or a pocket where we could do something together that really, really made sense? And so we're super excited about the opportunity, working together."
It's early days, then, but we're still interested to hear from you in the comments about which of these games you think might get the Xbox exclusivity treatment. How about the two Fallout remasters? Maybe the Obsidian Fallout game? And what about the two behemoths in the form of Fallout 5 and The Elder Scrolls 6?
Give us your thoughts down below - it'll be interesting to look back on them in the years to come!
