The big talking point last night was Xbox's decision to make Gears of War: E-Day and Clockwork Revolution "Xbox console exclusives", which means they won't appear on PS5 or Nintendo Switch 2 in the future.
Xbox CCO Matt Booty then elaborated on this a bit more following the event, stating that Xbox will decide exclusivity on a case-by-case basis going forward, but the team won't be altering "big multiplayer games and live service games" along with games that are already promised for other platforms - those will definitely remain non-exclusives.
Now, Windows Central's well-known Xbox reporter Jez Corden has teased that more exclusives are on the way too.
Of course, we already knew that Halo: Campaign Evolved, Fable and Minecraft Dungeons 2 were all confirmed for other platforms already, and last night's showcase featured the likes of Senua, State of Decay 3 and Spyro: A Realm Reborn that were all shown with multiplatform logos - so clearly they don't want to turn everything into exclusives.
Perhaps some other things on the Xbox first-party roadmap are being primed for exclusivity over the next 12-24 months though? What about Kojima's new game, OD? What about Marvel's Blade? What about the Fallout 3 & New Vegas remake / remasters that have been heavily rumoured? Could The Elder Scrolls 6 even become an exclusive?!
Whatever the case may be, you better believe we'll be keeping a very close eye on this situation going forward.
