I don't think Microsoft has tried to make interesting games in the last decade or so, with several iconic franchises like Gears of War 4, Gears 5, Halo 5, and Halo Infinite being released with obviously low-quality scripts and unattractive characters.

If Xbox was as serious about their games as they were during the Xbox 360 era, I'd choose Xbox games no matter what platform I was on. But now Xbox Game Studios seems to be prioritizing other things rather than making interesting games.
