Leaving aside whether it was interesting as a game, I was very drawn to the images, the sound and the world. In terms of artistry, it was probably the best of the year.

It's a good opportunity to look at the theory that Xbox exclusive games tend to get overly low ratings from the media.
I'm looking forward to seeing how the ratings split with Avowed and actually playing both on Game Pass and seeing if the media react the same way.

Forza Motorsport 7 feels much more fun, and I didn't feel that there was much of a change in terms of the visuals.

If you look at the official Turn 10 website, you can kind of guess the reason for this. Perhaps the people in charge of development are those who have no interest in cars.

The current Xbox dashboard is not very interesting. I want it to be a bit more like the Xbox 360 dashboard, with more entertainment features.

They were advertising ‘Arkham Knight’ and ‘Destiny’, which you can't even buy on the Japanese dashboard.
If you select them from the dashboard, you get an error that they don't appear on the store page.
Of course, the problem is that they're not sold in Japan, but it's better than that, right?

This is a discussion that took place 10 years ago in Japan, where there have been very few packaged games released for the Xbox One and later.

I liked the Xbox 360 packaged games. However, now I can't enjoy the packaged and limited edition versions of my favourite games on the Xbox.

I even buy PlayStation versions of games that I don't even play just because they are limited editions.

I don't think that big Western companies like Microsoft can do creative work, so even if they buy Japanese studios, I'm sure they'll just end up destroying the culture.

I don't like the fact that the main character has a very ‘Western trendy design’, but I like the stop-motion and the world view.

I hope it's an interesting game.

This seems to have been more of a Bethesda problem than an Xbox problem. There is no way that the results of last year, when Starfield and Redfall failed, didn't have an impact.

Bungie abandoned Halo, made Destiny a PS4 exclusive on Xbox in Japan, and was then acquired by Sony.

For better or worse, it's a copy of Banjo-Kazooie. The original developers are involved, but Original game designer is not. It's like MGS without Kojima.

The game's art style was too distinctive, and it was a shame that it could only be played as ‘Project Spark’.

I don't know what really happened, but given that the only studios that were closed were related to Bethesda Softworks, it probably forced ZeniMax to make a decision on the bill for the failure of Starfield and Redfall.

Tango Gameworks was a really good development company, and I wish they would have stayed under the Xbox if possible, but I hope they continue to make good games at their next location.

In Japan, there is now an unwritten rule that you can't say you like the Assassin's Creed series in public. DEI and the portrayal of Japanese history in the game, which is based on insufficient research, is causing Japanese people a lot of pain.

At the game shop near me, there is only one Xbox One FIFA 14 game for sale second-hand. There are no consoles for sale (I have seen a second-hand Xbox One X for sale at that shop once).
In Japan, it would be difficult to even buy a new console unless you went to one of the few large city electronics stores.
You can buy it online, but for some reason it is always out of stock.
Unless Microsoft can prepare sufficient stock in Japan, they won't even be able to get off the starting line.

Banjo-Kazooie is one of the best titles.
But no other studio should make it.
Even Yooka-Laylee, which didn't involve the original game designers, didn't satisfy me.

Activision originally held the contract until this time. But they backed out early. I think that answers the question.

As much as I liked JD Fenix, the Gears 5 campaign sucks, I don't want Kait.

Hive Busters on the other hand was very enjoyable.

Destiny1 was a PlayStation exclusive on the Japanese Xbox, despite the fact that it was scheduled to be released at the time.

This caused many Japanese Halo fans to migrate to the PlayStation.

343 Industries has its own problems, though, as they left the matchmaking glitch unaddressed for quite some time. (At the time, the Halo community in Japan was in the midst of a meltdown over the change of voice actors for Master Chief and Cortana)

I went to Turn 10 Studio's official website to see if it was possible. It was very female leadership pushed out. It's a great initiative.
I think the quality of Forza Motorsport is assured.

It is the Xbox team that should be aware of the change in gamer behavior.

Don't expect Xbox fans to enjoy gaming as much as they have in the past just because the Xbox team chooses not to take care of their console.

I think it is a wonderful thing to bring the game to a large number of people. But it would be bad news for the Xbox console hardware and its users. Fewer people buying Xbox consoles means fewer third-party games will be released and localized.
It is not surprising that a market that Capcom and Square Enix are willing to leave alone will be left alone by even more developers.
I think Microsoft should do something to try to sell Xbox consoles.

I know it's an unavoidable field due to developers' requests, but the Xbox 360 store was much easier to understand when full games, XBLA, and indie games were separated.

This game is a spin-off of a work called BnB; BnB was sued by Hudson for being a Bomberman clone. Nintendo rarely sues, so they took Mario Kart, but it was a disappointment.

I am glad that Tango Gameworks was able to survive.

But if possible, I would like to see a good development company like Tango Gameworks at Microsoft.

Physical disks are certainly important. But we don't sell packaged versions of Xbox. At least in Japan, they haven't released a package since "Halo 5: Guardians".

Not only is it not advertised, it is almost always out of stock in our area.
Yes, in a region like Japan, where Xbox don't sell well, they are always out of stock.

The Japanese Xbox community is in turmoil: the closure of ZeniMax Asia and Tango Gameworks, the Xbox Series X|S price hike. The Xbox Series X|S is forever out of stock, and Xbox advertisements are being pulled out.
At the very least, there is no doubt that Microsoft is drastically reducing the budget for Xbox in Japan.
They have no intention of popularizing it.

I liked this game at the time, but it's not something I want to play over and over again.

Microsoft is clearly scaling back its Xbox console business outside the U.S., which is obviously affecting sales.

Unfortunately the right to buy Xbox games on disc is not ours, even Starfield and Halo Infinite are not sold in packages in our country.

@Pabpictu Japanese people are tired, and portable game consoles and smartphone apps that can be played casually are more in tune with the times now.

Also, large screen TVs are very expensive in Japan, so not many people make it a priority to buy them. (4K TVs are less popular than in the West because of a protection called B-CAS)

And most importantly, Japanese people prefer Nintendo Switch because Nintendo games are fun. The "political correctness" that is prevalent in Western games is not well accepted.

It would simply be more optimized because the PS5 version sells better. There is no complicated reason.
