Re: Talking Point: What Do You Think Of Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.0 So Far?

trukme

I've just fired it up for another playthrough. No overly flash visuals for my system but really looking forward to some interactions with the police and I think I might be a bit more engaged with skill progression this time around. It was all a bit much to follow before. I've always liked the accessibility of Borderlands in the upgrades.

@Titntin @FraserG thankyou both for replying, Titntin, you're on the money. I wonder how gaming journalism could possible change tact slightly to report on how the deal is of benefit (or otherwise) to gamers as a whole - actually break it down rather than a quick fire he said she said, where the comments sections fill up with predominatly uninformed and tribalised opinion. With regards to 'what's the feeling in the Push Square comments section' - I knew the answer already, Titntin responded better than I could have composed myself. Keeping these pages separate works for me because I play on XB/PC but that's no reason to keep gamers separate through the journalism on the biggest deal ever proposed that has potential to affect half of us with the largest benefit to a corporation. Journalism for gamers as a whole, curated in to respective sites for the audience required. Not audience(corpo) driven journalism that serves the corpos first, gamers second.

@FraserG you're doing an awesome job by the way
I have a request - seen as you legends are also Push Square - how about a bit of a report on 'how each community feels about this stuff' - I do not frequent that page as often, but would be of interest to see where the PS and XBOX community themselves stand on this subject. Are gaming communities on the same page or do we have a tendency to support our chosen corporate overlords interests over our own etc?

Looks like a load of fun, and I'm rooting for the five devs!
Considering my love of The Ascent visually and audibly from a team of 12 - I hope this passion project is also well received.

Interesting IP, delivered with love and without the corporate influence while delivering top notch experience and visuals - I won't think twice about giving them money for their efforts.

Re: Review: Saints Row - A Truly Disappointing Return For The Saints

trukme

I for one had high hopes, I didn't have much time to take a deep dive in to what I was seeing pre release and thought it looked like it will be a bit of fun. Thanks for the write up, and everyone's piece in the comments section. Genuinely should be proud of the comment section on purexbox it's a bloody good crowd.

Re: New DLC For The Ascent Is Arriving On Xbox This Month

trukme

I was obsessed with The Ascent. Not quite 100% on achievements due to it being buggy - need to die 100 times again and thats done. Its been months but still installed waiting for DLC so looking forward to supporting them

Honestly the environment is stunning, and the audio! Far out I've never enjoyed a twin stick isometric like I did this one. The minute I started playing it I fell in love with the aesthetic and audio.

Story was a non event but bloody great otherwise. An awesome achievement for a small team. A more compelling and engaging story and its delivery would really lift this game.

Re: Talking Point: Xbox Series S Owners, Are You Happy You Skipped Series X?

trukme

I had to stop reading the comments, positivity overload haha. I have neither but it's nice to know that S owners are genuinely happy with them. I'm not completely up to date with performance outcomes of cloud gaming but would I be right in assuming that the Series S would deliver as good as good as Series X and that your TV and internet connection are now the bottlenecks?

Re: Microsoft Defends Activision Blizzard Deal With Eyebrow-Raising Statement

Everyone outside of the board of directors and representatives of the relevant business in negotiation here is just spouting uninformed opinion. As an older gamer I'm not threatened by acquisitions, we the buyers hold them accountable by voting with our money and our ability to absolutely tank something by the use of the tools we are using right now. Don't mess with gamers, you'll get rekt. I'm an xbox/pc user and would go ape ***** on MS/XBOX public threads, and not buy their products to fight for our gaming community, and you all know you would too. Take a look at the recent Wall Street news, the people have the power if they band together. Exclusive rights won't be around for much longer.
