Update: After getting in contact with the publisher for The House Of The Dead: Remake, we can now confirm that the Xbox Series X|S version will be a free update for owners of the Xbox One version. Great news!
Original story: Following the release of The House of the Dead: Remake for Xbox One earlier this April, the game is now heading to Xbox Series X and Series S next week on September 23rd... but there's no word yet on whether it's a free upgrade.
Details are very limited at the moment, so we'll let you know as soon as we hear more about target resolutions and frame rates for each console, as well as that all-important news about the upgrade path.
Of course, a downside is that you can't use a light gun on Xbox to play The House of the Dead: Remake, but the game did at least add mouse support earlier this year, so you've got a couple of different control options at your disposal.
Keep your eyes peeled for more information (hopefully!) on the HOTD remake over the next few days.
Did you pick this up for Xbox One? How have you been finding it so far? Let us know below.
Always loved these arcade shooters, modern light gun to get is AimTrak (PC/RPi)
I might consider getting this game if they release a light gun for it, but I’m not going to play a light gun game with a control pad.
Love that game! Playing it with Sinden Lightgun on my PC is pure joy!
Light gun games are fun if played with gun, I remember playing time crisis and virtua cop with gun both on psone and saturn back then 😃
I’ve goy House of the Dead an the gun on my PS3. Wish they’d bring this yo Quest 2 or PSVR2.
The control scheme is what makes or breaks this game.
Without a gun or a pointer of some kind, it’s broken along with my heart. </3
This game would shine so bright in VR.
@LP09 you can use a mouse as a pointer
@JoakimZ it has mouse support
@Saberhunter2997 Clicking on a zombie head is a bit different than point/shoot mechanics.
Absolutely no point without a light gun. Hopefully they include one. Otherwise will definitely be a skip.
I just want a psvr update makes so much sense for rails shooters
@JoakimZ Same. It just doesn't feel right lol.
@Would_you_kindly they were supposed to add support for the move controllers.
@Ninersdad they did aswell as the aim controller I completed it using them lol
@Would_you_kindly well I’m behind .. time to pick up my ps copy
