@Red620Ti Oh yeah I know that but to 100% Trap Team you need one of each of the new trap masters plus 1 of each of the traps. Same sort of deal with Swapforce and Giants. I think I read somewhere that the achievements are all obtainable with the starter pack figures, but that's small consolation when you've just beaten a bad guy and can't trap him because you don't have the correct element trap
Pretty sure they wouldn't release a single re-mastered game for more than £20 for the very reason you state above. Personally I'm not even sure if I would play it for free... same with the Nathan Drake Collection. I have little enough time to play new games, never mind playing 'remasters' of ones I've already clocked.
Think I'm also getting tired and pretty apathetic about them all now... even Indie games are getting re-released... I know you don't have to buy them and they don't necessarily take development time away from studios doing new games blah blah blah. However I just find myself saying 'why?' every time I read about a 'new' old game being released.
Maybe it's an age thing because I do the same thing every time I hear that a movie is being re-booted or a prequel is being shoehorned into existence lol
They can't seriously keep churning these out every year and expect everyone to keep buying the figures surely? Sooner or later people are going to start baulking at the price of these things... I've been getting these since Spyro's adventure but even I'm starting to feel like I'm being had. OK maybe a few new figures or the new trap mechanic and traps... but oh no its a complete new set of figures, traps and a new bloody portal as well. Oh and they make sure that some of the traps are unavailable at launch just to make life difficult.
Not sure if I'll be keeping up with these this year... isn't it about time they made a game where you can just use the figures you've got without forcing you into buying a new set along with the game?
@SuperKMx Better start racking up those points then
Nice way to reward loyal customers though... even if you got the maximum GS for every game you'd need to have purchased 150 games to reach that level so the large discount would be well deserved.
I read most of that article in the voice of an American TV infomercial presenter (in my head of course).
That's an awesome deal though - if they do that in the UK I'll probably nab myself a 2nd Xbox for the bedroom... how many GS do you need for the maximum discount?
That was a very content light trailer but I'm still really looking forward to this - love the Tomb Raider series. Hope there's a lot more of the traditional tomb raider puzzles this time around though...
Sony have already pushed Uncharted 4 back into 2016 so if MS/CD can get this out in time for Christmas it should be a great system seller.
Do you know if they have they patched the issues with Shape-Up yet? I remember reading that it was almost unplayable at launch because of various bugs? Tempted to pick that up if they have...
Also looks like a typo has crept into the title...
Crikey... the credit in my Live account has a very short lifespan, usually days or a few weeks at most. How people have still got MSPoints remaining this long after the switchover amazes me...
@Captain_Chao5 That's a bummer... does it not replenish your bombs and potions either? So long as you have a bottle of alcohol on you, meditating also replaces these items giving you a full complement ready for your next encounter.
@BAMozzy Get yourself a 360 then and you can enjoy the best of both worlds! I kept mine and have been building up a massive stockpile of these freebies for a rainy day.
For the record I enjoy quite a lot of the indie games. Max: Curse of Brotherhood, Never Alone, Limbo, Lifeless Planet, Defence Grid etc have all been really entertaining. Just started playing Badlands and am having a great time with that too... looking forward to playing The Swapper on Friday.
I did all sorts of things with mine - added working lights, electric motor to actually make it work under its own steam. I even tried to make a James Bond style ejector seat but never quite pulled that one off lol
This is my latest addition (xmas present off the wife). Frightening amount of parts in the box but all good fun - has proper working differentials, fully articulating suspension and a hell of a lot more...
@Captain_Chao5 Yeah your right it was called technical first... forgot about that... probably because I still buy the kits today lol.
This was my first ever Technical set... not sure if the picture will work as it's not a forum post but the URL should if you cut and paste it. It had a working gearbox and engine, rack and pinion steering - I think you could even adjust the seats! Happy days lol
@Captain_Chao5 Isn't that just Creative mode on Minecraft
Seriously though, I used to love Lego (particularly the Technic stuff) when I was a nipper (well still do actually - building a massive 4x4 Technic model right now in fact) but I've mixed feelings about them going down the virtual route. Kids of today spend too much time in virtual worlds already... I picked up a lot of useful life skills from my Lego, Meccano, Electronics sets etc.
Downloaded this earlier today on my Galaxy Tab S in response to this article and I'm so glad I did, it's a brilliant and charming little game. Has the simple gameplay control system of Flappy Bird combined with as similar art style to Limbo (albeit with lots of colour in the background) and some of the ambidextrous style of puzzles you find in Kalimba.
It plays really well on tablet as you don't need physical buttons at all. If the Xbox achievements are anywhere near as masochistic as the Google Play ones (lots of 'play through x number of levels without dying' etc) then I might just give its console version a miss!
The last NFS game I really enjoyed was the one the came out with the 360 - Most Wanted I think... every iteration since has been a disappointment, despite them promising the earth before each release.
Despite this review I'm still tempted... been watching videos of people playing this and they seem to be having a lot of fun and indeed it looked like a lot of fun can be had with the logging and stuff.
The amazon user reviews for the PC version (which has been out a while) and console versions are mostly very positive plus it's totally different from anything I've tried before.
Having said all that I do feel £40 is a bit too much to make it an impulse / curiosity purchase for most people
Looks like something I might take a punt on if it appeared on the store... but I'll be waiting for that to actually happen before I shell out I'm afraid.
Have to say I watched a few twitch streams of people playing this last night and it actually looks like a lot of fun... I thought it was going to be something like Farmville but it's more like a Tonka toy simulator for big kids lol
I've already invested in Skylanders, Disney Marvel Infinity and a smattering of my favourite Amibo's... I'm not buying into this as well... think I'm getting a bit weary of this trick now- not to mention struggling to find space for them all!
I'll make room for the Infinity Star Wars stuff but that's it for me I think. Plus the Lego dimensions figures haven't really inspired me at all... they're just normal Lego toys stuck on a plastic base. Meh.
This is a great scheme, especially if you buy quite a few games and movies off the store. You can get back up to 10% of what you spend (to get 10% you need to be a Gold member and have a Gamerscore of more than 75,000).
They always have some sort of offer where you can earn a lot of points fast too... At the moment its buy £120 worth of games between April and June and get 15,000 points or buy another movie in an existing franchise you own part of and get 5000 points. Sometimes you can get 5000 points just from playing a specific game or using a new app.
@Captain_Chao5 Thanks Cap... didn't realise this was a 'thing' just thought mine had succumbed to wear and tear (it has always been creaky). I ended up buying another and my Day 1 is more of a collectors item now :-/
@Captain_Chao5 When you say 'drifts' do you mean where a character in a game would move ever so slightly when you're not touching the stick because if so that would explain a lot
As limited edition consoles go I have to say that is crap. There's nothing 'limited' about it at all other than the cardboard box having different picture on it... and besides... since when has the colour white been associated with Master Chief? What a load of bollocks.
Think I may have (still have?) had it in my showcase too and back near the launch I thought it was a nice little nod of appreciation to those of us who bought the console at launch - especially given the overwhelmingly negative press it was getting back then and the pretty high price we paid for it relatively speaking.
I'm not so much annoyed by the fact people are buying these now but that (presumably) Microsoft are allowing them to be sold commercially in the first place. Basically renders the whole 'reward' pointless.
@crippyd No it's more like Skyrim for the open world, RPG elements and crafting, Mass Effect with the conversation choices and Red Dead (you can ride a horse around a vast open world). Cracking game so far
Completed this yesterday and have to say I really enjoyed it. The animation of a certain something was a bit rubbish and jarring but the landscapes and your own character were really well done. I feel the choice made to only require oxygen top-ups occasionally was the right one... it's primarily a game of exploration... constantly worrying about getting your next supply of air would have totally ruined the experience. Likewise the extended jump jets... when you needed them there was always a canister nearby but the rest of the time this ability would have made the game too easy so the ability ran out.
Did think the ending was a bit poor... think I'd have preferred it to end slightly earlier at the point I though it was ending at whilst I was playing. Sorry if that's a bit cryptic but trying not to spoil anything. Definitely worth the price of admission for me personally but not sure if I'll be replaying just to get the no deaths and 3 hour speed run achievements
Would be great if they could bring back some kind of XBLA section dedicated to the Indie titles and I do agree that many of the games just appear out of the blue with no fanfare. However even without a review the store does provide trailers (if there are any), screenshots and quite often a twitch stream which can all help you decide if a game is worth a punt although I do prefer to read a review or two if possible.
I check the store almost daily so I spot the new games pretty much as they appear but I guess many people will only look once or twice a month. In that scenario indie titles could easily come and go from the main screen and be missed completely which is where a dedicated, curated indie/XBLA section would help out.
I'm cautiously optimistic. Victorian era England fascinates me for a start, the horse and carriage 'driving' looks like fun and there was mention of steam trains too which could be really cool.

@Captain_Chao5 Sod the spring cleaning just get yourself an external HDD. Cheap as chips now and no worrying about free space!

Can safely say I won't be getting this... even if it is free. I think bullfighting is reprehensible and making a game of it sickens me.
I know this is totally hypocritical as I'm quite happy slaughtering hundreds of humans in AC or COD but there you go...
