The Witcher 3's Phenomenal DLC Is Now Completely Free On Xbox Ahead Of Remaster 1

As if The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt's current-gen upgrade wasn't already awesome enough, CD Projekt Red has announced a free Witcher 3 Remaster coming next month, with an all-new DLC Songs of the Past scheduled for 2027. But to top it all off, both Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine DLC expansions are now completely free for all!

Until now, if you fancied picking up The Witcher 3's stellar DLC expansions, you'd have had to fork out around $30 for the pair. It's funny, because free is free - which is great - but it's a little awkward when you consider existing owners of the RPG will get all of this included in next month's remaster. That said, it's a great way for Xbox One users to get all the DLC at no extra cost.

Here's where to bag 'em both for free:

"Coming on September 29, this is the definitive way to experience Geralt of Rivia’s legendary adventure. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered features an array of improvements, bringing upgrades to visuals, gameplay, and more. Remastered is a free upgrade for players who own The Witcher 3 on GOG, Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, and includes both Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine expansions. It is also available for pre-purchase on Battle.net and Nintendo Switch 2."

Either way, if you're itching to spend some more time with the White Wolf ahead of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered, now is as good a time as any to jump back in!

When the new Songs of the Past expansion launches sometime in 2027, it'll have been well over a decade since Blood and Wine, and yet I'd still highly recommend giving it a go - absolutely sensational DLC.
